- If we could skip from the beginning of Paper Mario: The Origami King to the final boss, King Olly (skipping all bosses and gameplay up to him), what would happen? If the only gameplay we had was getting to the first save block in Paper Mario: The Origami King and then we edited the game's save data to put Mario at the Origami Castle and take on King Olly in the final boss fight, would it work? Can we reach the ending of Paper Mario: The Origami King?

Some interesting things happen if we teleport Mario from Princess Peach's Castle to the Origami Castle right from the start of the game. In this video we explore what strange things happen, what happens in the final boss fight with King Olly if we teleport right to him if, and if you could theoretically beat the game if this ever becomes possible through some glitch or exploit! One of the points we explore is what happens to the Vellumentals: you normally need to defeat the Vellumental Bosses (Earth Vellumental, Water Vellumental, Fire Vellumental, and Ice Vellumental) before you can use their powers and progress in the game. What happens if we try to take on King Olly without defeating any of the Vellumental bosses beforehand? We explore all of this and more in this video :)

What if u hack trophies in like does it count for 100%? And can u get double trophies
Great question! I believe trophies are kept track of by boolean values, so a certain value becomes "true" or "false" depending on if you have the trophy unlocked or not. I don't think it's possible to get repeats of trophies if these are boolean values, but it's something we'll have to test in the future :)

I imagine the reason that the Star Circle works just fine in battle but not on Diamond Island is that you don't reach the in-battle ones until the end of the game, so they probably didn't bother to program in anything special for if you were missing a Vellumental Power when you reached one, but you find your first overworld Star Circles before you have all four Vellumental Powers, so they had to do something about that.
Yeah, it makes sense that it depends on if a check if performed or not! It's a really cool finding, I wonder if we'll ever be able to make use of it in speedruns :)
That folded Bowser in the credits had me dead, what caused that lmao

I guess in the credits scene, it still placed folded Bowser there because he's still Mario's follower that spawns in that scene, since the last room that we entered (King Olly's room) was with folded Bowser!
These types of things are always so cool to see, especially the part with folded bowser just chilling in the middle of a boss fight (and the one at the end is even better)

Im a huge fan of your channel
I can imagine that one could feasibly pull this off by finding a way to control Mario in the main castle room, and entering the door behind Peach in the intro, assuming the warps are in the same position in both castle iterations.
Of course, then would come the _fun_ part, of getting through Origami Castle with only 50 HP and no items, but at least with free Legendary gear.

One issue we might have is that if we enter the final room before Olly from the bottom of the staircase, we have to have unfolded Bowser with us or else the game will crash when we walk by the bench. I'm wondering if some of the earlier cutscenes will automatically trigger a Bowser follower. It'd be very convenient if that happened!

2. Isnt it weird that the only member of the legion of stationary you dont dight somewhere high up is the holepunch, who you fight underground
3. I enjoy watching small channels like this grow to be huge (like loogi bros, i was watching scince they had around 5k subs)

1:38 When you went to the start menu, if you look at 'Last Save' you can see the screen is black. I also have a intresting question for this now.
Can you see the black screen when you boot up the game or/and through the title screen? Or will you see what the save screen would look like if you didn't skip through the game?
Great question! I think the "last save" screen always shows up like that on emulator, I was testing this on yuzu. It should have appeared normally if this was done on a Switch

I wonder what would happen if you leave the castle. Normally at the end of the game if you go back to the beginning area/ lookout tower telescope, you will see origami castle (or the black clouds that are there.)

For the last part where Bowser was floting in front of the car it reminded me of a video where someone hacked the game to keep bobby and he did the same thing. Maybe the end credits had a plan to show off the partners? Who knows.
Thanks for the comment! I'm guessing whichever partner you have when you enter King Olly's room (as long as it's not full-sized Bowser, because that's who you're supposed to have), that partner loads in the credits scene as a partner that is still following you

What happens if you go in the pipe after beating final boss
Great question! It brings you back to the entrance of the Origami Castle :) It acts like a shortcut from the entrance to the final room of the Origami Castle

How do you actually avoid the game restarting you save? I edited HP and Coins and got my save restarted. Is there a way to avoid that?
Yeah, you have to get the CRC32 hash value at the end of the save file to match up. If you join my Discord server I can show you how to do it. The link to my Discord server is in the video description/ my about page
If a skip was found to get to the end of the game right away, the speed running community would treat it like how they treated OoT

@@dankenny3799 If you try to go into that pipe without the unfolded Bowser partner, the game crashes because it tries to load his dialogue but he isn't there!

During the ending, when origami castle changes back to peaches castle, is there any glitches there?
Great question! There are a few of the glitches that show up in the video, like the appearance of the follower that you had before entering the boss door appearing during the final battle/ credits sequence, and another one is game crashes if you try to leave the room because Bowser's dialogue is triggered but Bowser isn't there!
We could use moon jumps to explore the rest of the castle if we can pass by those dialogue triggers, and I wonder how going into rooms with cutscenes will work (e.g. What happens if we enter the room with the Stapler fight from the wrong side? What happens if we enter the room where Olly unleashes minions on us from the wrong side?)

Try bringing a bunch of partners to the olly fight all at once and see what happens
When you pull the block does it also crash
I'm pretty sure pulling up that block doesn't crash the game because it doesn't trigger any dialogue from anybody and it's just a regular object
Dumb question: Is it possible to beat Origami King without spinning the battle rings? Idk if anyone attempted it yet, but it sounds like a pretty good challenge lol XD
That's a really good idea! There are certain tutorial fights where you're forced to make ring movements and the battle won't continue if you do it, but I wonder if you could beat the game other than that!
@@ZXMany Oh wow thank you for replying! You could maybe make exceptions on those fights because they are mandatory to progress in the game. If you want, you can use battle accessories or make the toads cheer for you to make the challenge a bit easier. Keep up the good content :D

Apparently Folded Bowser is capable of surviving a spinning board, cold temperature, a literal frozen giant turtle falling on him, somehow finding Mario and Luigi, and most importantly, STANDING ON LIGHTS.

I'm not aware of a way to do it with regular gameplay or in the game's save data, but there should be another way to do it
I love how whenever you skip, there's just a paradox where there's, like, 2 different versions of the same partner. Like with the two Luigi's. And now there's two Bowser's, one folded, and one not.

Is it possible to beat every boss without using boots?
That's a really good question! I'm trying to think if there are any bosses that you NEED boots for, and I can't think of any off the top of my head. Water Vellumental would probably be the most annoying without boots 😂

That's a really good question! I've actually never tested that so I'm not sure. I think most regular attacks do very little damage on Olly

I thought this might've been hacking it so you don't fall down the pitfall at the beginning and go to the door past Peach early to unlock Origami Castle.
That's a really interesting idea! We've had some people in the community do some position hacking, and unfortunately we haven't found a glitch like that! With glitches, the fastest anyone has completed the game (any% WR) is just under 7 hours. We'd have to find a really big glitch to get the game to be a lot faster!

I found the exact reason somewhere mentioning exactly why all four abilities are available at the end of the game without previously getting them. I found an old interview mentioning something about this game by the people who were going to make the game sometime in the future as of when the interview was conducted.
That's really interesting! I'd be interested in seeing the interview if you remember where it was!
@@ZXMany It was a really long time ago, and I believe that the interview was conducted by Gamespot or IGN. I really cannot help you out any furthur than that, I am sorry. The interview is really, really interesting, and immediately caught my attention.
@@ZXMany The article also specifically addresses about why the four elemental powers, and why the powers are not available for use by modding the game; versus natural game play. The interview also answers any and all questions any future person reading the interview. They were very, very , very through in their responses; and were 100% sure that answers made sense many years down the line from conducting the interview.
