For the snake shadow hands thing, it's not luck. See when arranging the circles it will assume a "rock paper scissors" form, you just pick whatever beats it "paper-scissors, rock-paper, scissors-rock".
Here’s how I defeated the water vellumental, On turn 1, I would lower him down, On turn 2, I would jump on him some more. On turn 3, I would trip after activating a on switch, On turn 4, I would touch a earth vellumental. Repeat until they die.
18:52 There is actually is a strategy for Rock Paper Scissors here that I found worked consistently for myself. If Mario and the boss draw say, both rock, there’s a good chance the boss will do rock again, so do paper. Since it lost at rock, it’ll do scissors, so instead do rock to counter it. It’s a very consistent pattern. Essentially, it boils down to, if the boss wins with something, or you two draw, there’s a high chance he’ll do it again. If Mario wins in a match, he’ll try and counter the thing you did. (Do scissors if you won with rock for example)

And thanks for checking out the video :) There's a lot of cool stuff in this game as you look deeper into it, you can check out some of my other content if you're interested in more!

@ZXMany Yeah, I’m aware, thanks. Scissors was the most helpful since I was afraid of facing the final cut move. And in any case, the home button and close software are a click away which I use if I suspect I’ll die. Anyway, great stuff, keep up the great content!
Great video! Didn't know how quickly you could defeat most of these bosses until seeing it, with the exceptions of Handaconda, Boss Sumo Bro and Scissors. That said, you did make a small mistake with the Handaconda battle one. It's not luck. The boss actually shows you what hand signal it'll use in your turn, though it'll keep switching every few seconds or so. For instance, in your turn, you can see it's making the 'paper' sign, so scissors would be the correct response to it. Other than that, it's a great video, and everything's spot on. Seems like another channel for my next underrated channels list I think!
Thanks so much for the comment! AH, I had a feeling that was the case with Handaconda!! I was looking closely at the boss trying to see if there was a hint with the hand sign that it was making, and I made a mistake once, I was thinking that Handaconda changes its choice similarly to how Scissors bounces and flips sometimes. And we're slowly building up the channel, trying to get up to 1000 subscribers before the end of the summer and we're on our way! :)
I actually noticed the opposite! When the Handaconda puts out a symbol before the turn starts, it’s trying to trick you into choosing the symbol that would defeat it, so when the turn starts, you’ll use the symbol you believe will win, but it chooses the symbol that would defeat the symbol you chose, assuming you fell into the trap. So to win every time, I think you have to choose the symbol it puts up to try and deceive you with, because it will do the opposite assuming you’ve been tricked (example: if it puts up scissors, you should choose scissors because it will think you put up rock to try and defeat it, therefore leading it to actually choose paper, ultimately ending up with you winning because you chose the scissors instead of rock)
So, I have a theory for the Handaconda boss. During the Rock Paper Scissors phase, if you pay close attention before moving the panels to choose what symbol you’re going to use, you’ll notice that the boss will make one of the symbols with its hand. So for example, before playing the game, it does the scissors symbol. The Handaconda is expecting you to look at that and choose rock, because rock defeats scissors, but what it’s actually going to do is choose paper. It will defeat you because you chose rock, and paper beats rock. So what you have to do is choose scissors, because the hand will choose to do paper because it believes you are going to choose rock, therefore it chooses paper. Basically what I’m saying is that you should pay attention to what symbol the hand is making before the turn starts, and then choose that symbol, because the Handaconda will choose the opposite (the one that gets defeated) I’m not sure if this is exactly true, but that’s just what I’ve noticed.
Derek van der Veen this is probably the best paper Mario game because like it's more action like the elavater and the pincels going in the elavater and the chain chomp the peach ship slug slime in the window I loved that
There is a way, during the water vellumental fight, to at least do damage while passing either the 2 times panel or the extra move panel, just not both. I think this could be a great solution that could at most make the turns 4 instead of five. I will be looking into this though, so don’t worry.
Yeah, you can either one or the other but nobody has found a solution for both yet! The world record still uses 5 turns. Maybe there will be a solution that we can find one day to get it done in 4 turns instead of 5, and that might set a new record :) Good luck!
I at least think that the third turn should be of importance. Maybe for healing or turning on the on switch. I think that healing would be good for this turn, and the next turn you go to a A+1 panel and attack, while healing.

2:01 This attack here can be dodged if you’re standing in one of the two outer most rings. The boss will even have something to say if you do this the first time you fight it, “Argh, how did you get so far away!?”
Ah, that's really interesting! Yeah, I imagine you could probably set up the rings and get to the 1FA circle more quickly than the pencil case can crawl over to you
Handaconda is not completely random with Rock Paper Scissors. It sometimes telegraphs its attack and if you’re fast enough you can attack it before it switches its hand signal.
Thanks so much for that, I really appreciate that, hope you enjoy the content! Trying to get to 1000 subscribers before the end of the summer, so that really helps, thank you!

Here’s the problem, the fire vellum fight is luck based, you may not get both the A+1 or the chest at all. If you do, you may not get the fight circle. The A+1 MUST be in the 2nd ring, if it isn’t then the strat will not work, close the game and reload it. The chest however, needs to be in the 3rd ring. We all know where the attack circle is meant to go. However, the molten wing count is a MUST when you are looking out for it. The letters are just wastes of time and space. Use the toads when your HP is in a dire state. Olivia can’t really help us. This is going to take a while as the A+1 and the Chest are in the same ring. Usually the 3rd ring.
Handacondas Rock Paper Scissors phase actually has poses which show which action he’ll do in the Rock Paper Scissors thing, so it’s not really RNG. But still good video.
Yeah, someone told me you can do that! I tried to do that and I made a mistake, so I thought it was random. I haven't been back to check, but I think you're right, it would make sense that they do that :)
Glad you got it! Once you learn how to do it, it's pretty easy, there's a pretty big window: I first started by looking at Mario's hand, and pressing "A" once the fire ball appears/ starts to grow
@@ZXMany I didn't even know there was an action command for it before this video lol. I hope what you said helps when I try to fight more of these bosses!
Yeah, Tape is 6 turns total as a singular boss, but I wouldn't count each phase as an individual boss fight. Stapler technically has 3 phases (the different coloured staples), but we can completely skip phase 2 and 3 if we're quick, and it takes 4 turns in total to beat Stapler
@@goommooster7572 Yeah, I wish Tape was a faster boss, it's one of the most difficult bosses in the game and that's partly because it's so based on luck haha. I wonder if we'll ever see it done in less than 6 turns total
Here are the turns if you beat the Water Vellum in 4 turns: Turn 1: Same in video Turn 2: Same in the video Turn 3: same in the video but unsolved mystery Turn 4: Shiny Iron boots/Shiny Boots(x2 and +1A)
There’s is another way to beat the scissors in 5 turns Move 1: Chest and legendary boots Move two: A+1 x2 and legendary hammers Excellent raining Move 3: chest and legendary hammer again Move 4: ON switch and Ice vellumental Move 5: On switch and 1000 fold arms make sure you get excellent railings or the boss will still be alive.
Thanks so much, really glad you enjoyed the video! That's a good idea! I know it's possible to beat several bosses without taking any damage, and it'd be interesting to see that for other bosses. I'm working on something similar right now, you can click subscribe to be notified when it comes out if you'd like! And subscribing really helps me out if you'd like to :)
Great question! I'd personally say that tape is slightly harder because it's more luck dependent (i.e. You can get in big trouble even if you do everything perfectly for tape, but if you do everything perfectly for the ice vellumental, you're guaranteed a win) A long fight doesn't necessarily mean it's a difficult fight, but the ice vellumental does seem to be one of the hardest bosses in the game for people (it's currently the most popular boss fight guide I have on my channel)
@HEW WAI KIET - You can beat the ice vellumental with 1000-fold-arms or a fire flower for sure, the pow block doesn't work, and I can't remember if other regular attacks/ hammers work, I haven't tested it out in a while :P
IDEA: Fpr turn 3 on the w vell get the +1 attack to jump and hammer after that it will be on the ground then use the earth vellumental to deal 50 damage (this might work)
I was able to figure out that puzzle I did some careful movements and I was able to get the A+ one pin on the double damage panel and the Thousand folds arm Circle when it's ready for the next turn
Yeah! That strategy can definitely work :) Some strategies also just bring an attack panel to Mario where he uses a fireflower to defeat the boss, so he doesn't even solve the ice maze 😂
No problem! Yeah, rubber band can be really tough! There are more guides on my channel if you get to another difficult part, and subscribing really helps me out if you'd like to!
@@evagarcia865 There's something interesting about the Moltres in The Origami King! You can almost defeat it without attacking it. You can put up a heart right in front of Mario (feathers never fall on hearts), and Mario will just heal every turn and not walk on any feathers. I have a video exploring if we can beat the Fire Vellumental Boss without attacking it if you're interested!
There is a chance you could beat Tape in 5 turns turn1 phase 1 fire flower to the front of the case turn2 phase1 fire flower to back of the case turn3 phase 2 1000 fold arms turn4 phase 2 chest and fire vellumental turn 5 phase2 1000 fold arms but I know it doesnt work 100% of the time.
Thanks so much for the comment, glad you enjoyed it! I also checked out your Chopin Nocturne 20 video, absolutely loved it, I'm a huge Chopin fan, very nicely played!
Hmmm.... has anyone ever tried for the Ice Vellumental not damaging the boss enough to trigger the last phase but still using Thousand Fold Arms and only hitting him enough to that you could still use the Thousand Fold Arms again and not deal with the Ice Maze?
@@goldenyoshistar1 There's two strategies that I've seen people working on: (1) some speedrunners are trying to find out a strategy to avoid the ice maze, and (2) some speedrunners do enough damage so that when ice maze happens, they can finish off the boss by bringing an attack panel right to Mario and using a fireflower instead of solving the maze
Guess these methods depend solely on luck most of the time. I tried this for the Hole Punch enemy and, it took a bit more than 4 turns to win. Took me 7 instead. Still, not that difficult of an enemy, all in all. I just didn't get the luck you did with the A+1 and X2 panels. Whenever I opened a chest to get them, they would always land on the exact same ring. Oh well. Got through the boss regardless.
I found the water vellumental to be the hardest. Not because of the rings. But because you skipped the ring movements. I think you cheated. I’m so dumb with this boss ok?
In the first turn, the ring movements are: (1) rotate the inner ring so the x2 panel is lined up with the envelope, (2) rotate the second ring counter-clockwise once, (3) slide the x2 panel to the outer ring. The second turn is: (1) slide the x2 panel to the 3rd ring closest to Mario, (2) rotate the second ring clockwise twice, (3) rotate the outer ring to get an arrow to make Mario walk on the x2 panel There's also an easy solution to turn 4 if we ever find a solution to turn 3 Hope that helps!
WAIT! I think I found the solution to Turn 3! Rotate the outer ring to the A+1 Panel Ring. (Move 1 / 3) Turn the X2 Panel to line up with the A+1 Panel. ( Ring Move 2 / 3 ) In the final ring, Line up the attack panel. Then you attack. I think that is the solution? Maybe not? I think not, but prove it yourself!
@@wilderduran5431 Mario has no panel to start on that way :( The outer ring panel can't reach both Mario's first step and the A+1 panel in the same turn
ZXMany I wish you showed us how. But I don’t understand all that. Yes, I fully understand turn 1, but I can’t understand turn 2 at all! It’s way too complex ok?

That’s really helpful to make me beat bosses quicker in Paper Mario Origami King 👍🏼
You just got a new sub.
Thanks so much for that, I really appreciate that, hope you enjoy the content! Trying to get to 1000 subscribers before the end of the summer, so that really helps, thank you!
Thanks, Man!
Awesome video. Great presentation and I love this game. Great job!
Thanks so much for the kind comment, I appreciate it :) There's more Paper Mario Origami King content on my channel if you're interested in more (and more to come), and I'm trying to get to 1000 subscribers before the end of summer, it would really help out if you could subscribe!
ZXMany sure thing man
@@CorporateSalmon Thanks so much, I appreciate that!
Used these to get the treasure in the bossotronic fighter machine thingamy, it helped so much
Here’s the problem, the fire vellum fight is luck based, you may not get both the A+1 or the chest at all.
Bro thx do. Much I was crying so much and kept saying "it's impossible I just can't win" but thx so much
I thought Handaconda tells you which sign he will do while you're placing circles around, i was looking at its hand.
Yeah, someone told me you can do that! I tried to do that and I made a mistake, so I thought it was random. I haven't been back to check, but I think you're right, it would make sense that they do that :)
@@ZXMany Good vid' by the way !
@@MrMasquime Thanks for the comment, really glad you enjoyed it :) There's more Paper Mario analysis (and memes) on my channel
Doesnt it either win or loose deepending on you doing the action thing correctly?
Whatever sign Handaconda uses you need to use the one that is weak to it like if it shows scissors use paper. At least that is what happens to me
Some of these bosses took me 1 extra turn because I cannot pull off the action command with the Fire Flower for the life of me.
@@DaSheepKiller Good luck! I also have in-depth guides for each boss if you're struggling on any particular boss!
Hole Punch is my favourite
Hole Punch is a sweet boss, the level design was nice too :)
Woo 300 subs🥳
On the way to 1000!
So I guess you could say that the Ice Vellumental fight progresses at a glacial pace.
I love this so much 😂 nICE comment (that's the best I could come up with on the spot, I kind of just *froze*)
So, if you counted Tape’s 2 phases as 2 different fights, would it technically be shorter?
Yeah, Tape is 6 turns total as a singular boss, but I wouldn't count each phase as an individual boss fight. Stapler technically has 3 phases (the different coloured staples), but we can completely skip phase 2 and 3 if we're quick, and it takes 4 turns in total to beat Stapler
ZXMany Oh, Ok!
@@goommooster7572 Yeah, I wish Tape was a faster boss, it's one of the most difficult bosses in the game and that's partly because it's so based on luck haha. I wonder if we'll ever see it done in less than 6 turns total
Jomp on ki ole and he will dae
It would be okay because phase 1 is 2 turns and phase 2 is 4
I love your videos zxmany.
Here are the turns if you beat the Water Vellum in 4 turns:
Turn 1: Same in video
Turn 2: Same in the video
Turn 3: same in the video but unsolved mystery
Turn 4: Shiny Iron boots/Shiny Boots(x2 and +1A)
13 bosses in in paper mario the origami king but 13 is a unlucky number!
It's the bosses who are unlucky because of how good we are after watching this video 😎
Your right ZXMANY!😎😎😎😎😎🔫🔫🔫🔫
@@melissahuynh2409 Those bosses better watch out 😎 We're ready
Zxmany my real name is jayden pham im a boy its just my ipad has my moms Account! Oh and i made a origami king olly and it looks very cool!😎😎😎😎
There’s is another way to beat the scissors in 5 turns
Move 1: Chest and legendary boots
Move two: A+1 x2 and legendary hammers Excellent raining
Move 3: chest and legendary hammer again
Move 4: ON switch and Ice vellumental
Move 5: On switch and 1000 fold arms make sure you get excellent railings or the boss will still be alive.
Awesome! Yeah, there are several ways to do it, and there are some really quick ways to beat the boss!
Nice Video, Nice Voice! Really liked your Video! Did you ever play to make a Video about beating the bosse with the lowest HP lose?
Thanks so much, really glad you enjoyed the video! That's a good idea! I know it's possible to beat several bosses without taking any damage, and it'd be interesting to see that for other bosses. You know we should ask mario about all this pain mario?
Oh he's traumatized welp he'll see you in therapy goodnight
Wow! You pulled off a Sword Art Online victory against Rubber Band.
3:57
Never noticed the attack was named wing ding...
“Thinks of undertale wing ding language”
Wait does that mean the ice vellumental is the hardest boss fight in the game
Great question!
I'd personally say that tape is slightly harder because it's more luck dependent (i.e. You can get in big trouble even if you do everything perfectly for tape, but if you do everything perfectly for the ice vellumental, you're guaranteed a win)
A long fight doesn't necessarily mean it's a difficult fight, but the ice vellumental does seem to be one of the hardest bosses in the game for people (it's currently the most popular boss fight guide I have on my channel)
@HEW WAI KIET - You can beat the ice vellumental with 1000-fold-arms or a fire flower for sure, the pow block doesn't work, and I can't remember if other regular attacks/ hammers work, I haven't tested it out in a while :P
Water Vellumental:right, up, x2, plus1, attack
i used the earth vellumental on the ice vellumental and it broke his ice and kept me safe from his role attack
Oh wow, that's really cool! That's really great to know, thanks so much for bringing that to my attention!
Role Punch:Yape version of Hole Punch
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaape
IDEA:
Fpr turn 3 on the w vell get the +1 attack to jump and hammer after that it will be on the ground then use the earth vellumental to deal 50 damage (this might work)
I'm not certain because it probably takes flight again for its final attack
Once again thank you so much
You're very welcome! There are in-depth guides for each boss on my channel if you need help at any boss!
Then ppl are just going to forget all about this game when an inevitable sequel comes out
It's a pretty fun one :) Do you have a favourite Paper Mario?
@@ZXMany 2nd & third games. Also really liked Paper Jam.
I was able to figure out that puzzle I did some careful movements and I was able to get the A+ one pin on the double damage panel and the Thousand folds arm Circle when it's ready for the next turn
For the ice maze all you have to do is take 2pictures then draw it out then solve how you drew it out
Yeah! That strategy can definitely work :) Some strategies also just bring an attack panel to Mario where he uses a fireflower to defeat the boss, so he doesn't even solve the ice maze 😂
Fun fact you can know what MAnaconda will do in the rock papers scissors face by looking at its hand
Thanks. That rubber band boss is so annoying.
No problem! Yeah, rubber band can be really tough! There are more guides on my channel if you get to another difficult part, and subscribing really helps me out if you'd like to!
Great! I subscribed btw.
@@rayan40397 Thanks so much, really appreciate that!
Tape boss hurts itself like Fire Vellumental
Yeah! And it can scoop up all of the tape and heal itself if the fight takes too long
From 4:32 to 4:58 I felt dead by nostalgia for some reason... ):
Also I found the solution
So you’re telling me the hardest boss in this game is an origami Beartic rip-off.
Some people found Moltres difficult too :^) The most RNG-dependent for me personally was Tape, especially if you're trying to speedrun that boss
ZXMany Yeah, Tape is pretty hard. As for Moltres, I found him annoying, more than difficult, because of the flames scattered on the field.
I remember I defeated the water vellumental with the 1000 fold arms when I played this game
Everybody gangsta till the final boss turns into a legendary pokemon
In the handaconda, I was really lucky and won the rock paper scissors on turns 3 and 4
That's awesome!
14:50 1 legendary hammer hit does the trick too
There is a chance you could beat Tape in 5 turns turn1 phase 1 fire flower to the front of the case turn2 phase1 fire flower to back of the case turn3 phase 2 1000 fold arms turn4 phase 2 chest and fire vellumental turn 5 phase2 1000 fold arms but I know it doesnt work 100% of the time.
It’s funny how the final fight is possible in 4 turns because 2 vellums and 2 turns each vellum 2x2=4 turns
Genius!
Thanks so much for the comment, glad you enjoyed it! I also checked out your Chopin Nocturne 20 video, absolutely loved it, I'm a huge Chopin fan, very nicely played!
I started up again thanks to you
For the Colored pencils: I Close the case shut with the thousand fold arms
Thank you!! :)
Uh, question. Who’s your favourite member of the legion of stationery? With me it’s probably rubber band (because it’s pretty funny lol) or tape.
Nice I already beat the game but this is a helpful video
Awesome! Glad you liked the video, thanks for checking it out :)
I officially beat the Earth Vellumental, and Jean-Pierre Coloured Pensils the 12th.
I am so happy
That's awesome, congrats!!
@@ZXMany thanks! I'm in the water Vellumental's lair!
@@charlescalvin4678 Good luck!
@@ZXMany well hey, thanks!
Stuck at the water wheel part XD
Hmmm.... has anyone ever tried for the Ice Vellumental not damaging the boss enough to trigger the last phase but still using Thousand Fold Arms and only hitting him enough to that you could still use the Thousand Fold Arms again and not deal with the Ice Maze?
would that save the time it takes to solve the maze?
@@goldenyoshistar1 There's two strategies that I've seen people working on: (1) some speedrunners are trying to find out a strategy to avoid the ice maze, and (2) some speedrunners do enough damage so that when ice maze happens, they can finish off the boss by bringing an attack panel right to Mario and using a fireflower instead of solving the maze
In the cutout boss look at its hand it will do a synbol then it will do the opposite of it
Guess these methods depend solely on luck most of the time.
"We do...nothing" *sad music*
I found the water vellumental to be the hardest. Not because of the rings. But because you skipped the ring movements. I think you cheated. I’m so dumb with this boss ok?
In the first turn, the ring movements are: (1) rotate the inner ring so the x2 panel is lined up with the envelope, (2) rotate the second ring counter-clockwise once, (3) slide the x2 panel to the outer ring.
The second turn is: (1) slide the x2 panel to the 3rd ring closest to Mario, (2) rotate the second ring clockwise twice, (3) rotate the outer ring to get an arrow to make Mario walk on the x2 panel
There's also an easy solution to turn 4 if we ever find a solution to turn 3
Hope that helps!
I GOT IT! I PASSED TURN 2! I hope I can master it! 3:01 and 3:07 were achieved on this, A MASSIVE improvement from my 5:44
Most bosses take 4 turns...Ice Vellumental and Tape are the longest...you fight both in area/world 4...THIS WAS PLANNED ALL ALONG!
i can beat paper macho gooper blooper, super paper macho pokey, and paper mistake buzzy beetle in one turn
Awesome! Do you know what your time to beat it is?
For scissors, the video says to use Legendary Iron Boots, but it shows Legendary Boots.
Zxmany can you help me defeat the rubber band boss please?
Maybe not?
Did you know if you go to the back of the water vellumental with the thousand fold arm circle you do 15 damage
Ah, that's really interesting! You do more damage to the Water Vellumental if you attack it from behind with the 1000-fold-arms?
Is it possible to rebattle the bosses because I'm about to get the game on Friday and I'm a boss battle fan and I just wanna know
Yeah, there's a place in the main town where you can rebattle the bosses, and it shows the time it takes you to beat the boss, so you challenge yourself and try to beat the boss as quickly as possible. It's a fun game, I hope you enjoy it! I have all kinds of guides on my channel if you get stuck/ get to any challenging parts :)
I think handaconda is showing what it will use when you do rings
I've heard a few people say that, but speedrunners have said that it isn't really reliable and it seems to be based on RNG!
You were using legendary boots on the scissors
I am all most done with the games
Awesome! What do you have left?
