- I caved in, and I bought the new Nouveau palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills, a bronzer from ABH and a blush. BUT, I also have had in my possession the new Phytosurgence "toasted" Skin Spark blush collection for a WHILE, and I'm so excited to finally share them on camera.

I think I’ve commented something like this before but I so respect Kackie’s deep knowledge or her own face, skin tone, and features to the point where she knows exactly how different shades will affect her appearance or what’s going to be flattering or not. It’s something I will always be striving for-it’s such an invaluable skill when knowing what to buy or how to apply things.
Would you consider another skin tone/lip tone color theory video? I find that across all color cosmetics, the thing I always “get wrong” is how my natural coloring will/won’t cancel something out. That would really help me make better shopping choices.
For anyone who is looking for a shade similar to peacock, Mac cosmetics makes a single eye shadow called starry night that is very similar.

I mean considering I mostly use makeup at my job as a circus performer & fortuneteller and I love a grungy punky version of those things . . . I feel seen in a bizarrely specific way.

I guess today was the day that algorithm decided that since I follow Hannah, I must follow you as well. I loved this. I really appreciate your knowledge of color theory and WHY stuff works or doesn't work. I'm afraid I'm piling onto Jason's stress because that condensate shade is right up my alley.
This makeup look is fabulous! It’s giving me 70’s style icon, Diane Von Furstenberg, Bianca Jagger, Anita Pallenberg, Barbara Bach, Marianne Faithful vibes. This look would look incredible with a 70’s style outfit, or 70’s dress on. Sigh….I freaking love 70’s fashion and makeup styles

I’m over here absolutely swooning over Condensate. It is just the perfect blush color for me, I think. My Phytosurgence order shipped yesterday and I can’t wait. I got Condensate and Fume - my first Skin Sparks 🎇 - and a bunch of other stuff. I do not buy a lot of makeup, but Phytosurgence is so special.

This is great! I actually bought a Phytosurgence blush in Fume and the highlighter in Divine Daylight after watching your and Hannah's videos. Can't wait to see the new blushes!

(It’s kind of ridiculous how much I sound like a Phytosurgence brand rep when I talk about them, but they’re just so good. I got Simmer as my first blush and while I was intimidated by how *bright blossom pink* it was, I now use it constantly. Great one-and-done for a simple spring flush and super satisfying mixer for rosy-ing up cooler shades. I’ve even used it as a mixing medium for days when I wanted to wear lipstick as blush without the usual patchy blend. The formula alone makes doing my makeup so much more enjoyable, and the new shades? To DIE for.)
@@daphne-bai I love them! I was actually just drooling over Condensate until she swatched RDF Desire next to it (I own it) and I realized how close they are. Knowing me, I'll pick up Condensate anyway lol. I have such a cool undertone that I'm a sucker for those tones,. :) Yeah, bright colors just intimidate me, I go for more muted looks so I steer clear of them habitually.

Since you have both these blushes I thought I’d mention that today I used Summer Friday new sunscreen, Cle de Peau Radiant Natural Foundation, Makeup by Mario cream balm enhancer bronzer, that Latte blush and Bare Minerals Kiss of Pink and that put it on lock! I just survived an eight hour work day, dinner and mowing the lawn in the Florida humidity and it looked like I’d just put my makeup on thirty minutes ago. Anyways the two blushes really complement each other really well.🥰. Love your channel!!

I am a long time makeup lover and I never got myself an eyeshadow palette. On difficult eyes like mine there is nothing better than a sweep of bronzer blush and contour
I ordered condensate and sublimate on Sunday so this was perfect.
I adore the color story in this palette but I am suuuuper glad you talked about the formula. I have been trying to find reasons to not buy this as I'm saving money right now. I'm not a fan of formulas that pick themselves up and blend away. I appreciate the thorough review!
I've had my eye on Condensate. It reminds me of Kjaer Weis' Abundance, which is one of my favorite blush shades!
Abundance is one of my favorites too! The coconut oil is making me break out though, so I’m excited to try out Condensate!
i honestly avoid the chunkier shimmers from abh bc of the fallout, but when i do use any abh shimmers i use my fingers! Love this look!

I like nouveau, but it’s not an all in one palette for me, I have add in other mattes. Im used to ABH palettes having a more balanced matte/shimmer ratio and they usually have a good gradient to the shades going from light to deep. Muse looks deep but it’s kinda strange how it blends out, the satiny/shimmer formula makes it appear very smoky, I just can’t t get the right depth with this kinda shade.
I’m here for the “Horse/cowboy picks my makeup” vibe 🤣 if anyone can pull that look off, it’s you!
My skin tone is pretty darn close to yours and I bought myself that Anastasia bronzer but in the next shade up, Amber. I was worried it might be too dark, but the undertone was so much less yellow ish and it works perfectly. So glad I went with that shade instead of Sunkissed…I think I stood there for a half hour swatching them all over and over before I made up my mind lol… now it looks like I need to head over the the Phytosurgence site and buy myself some new blushes 🤷♀️

Thank you for this, Kackie! This has killed my desire for that Anastasia palette, the mattes would simply be too light for me. However, those olivey golden shimmers are the stuff of which dreams are made .
This is music to my ears. Yes, they're gorgeous! But so are the ones in that ATHR palette, there's a good one in the nars palette AND I'm like itching to see what PMG is teasing 😅😅
@@kackie you've truly Hannah'd me today! I think I could get the look I want from those shades using Woodwinked from MAC with some yellowy greeny browns, and that would be my perfect neutral eye! With the benefit of them being singles and everything!

I really like the ABH palette, my skin is more pinky and I have green eyes so it feels ‘at home’. How does the new Phytosurgence blush in Condensate compare to Illamasqua in Frisson color wise? I have Frisson but wish it was a touch darker… Thanks as always for a great review!
Frisson is practically neon by comparison. It's like someone took out all the grey from Condensate.

I would have liked this palette if Anastasia had committed to the orange/green/purple triad color scheme. Ditch the peacock duochrome & whatever that murky satin shade is for midtone & deeper tone matte purples & make that light purple a beautiful multichrome. BAM, the palette pops now. I could never use an ABH palette as a stand alone palette which is why I stopped buying them. I found indie brand formulas that I liked better, especially the shimmer/metallics. People are losing their minds over this palette which is odd considering how similar it is to Natasha Denona's Mini Retro & Zendo, plus desaturated earthy greens & rosey- corals have been big for a while now in eyeshadow, nice to see ABH finally joining the party :D

Kackie, have you ever reviewed the Bobbi Brown color corrector sticks on your channel, or do you have another color corrector or concealer you recommend for dark undereyes? I feel you on the long weekend with a kiddo 😵💫
I have never found much use for them until recently, so the Becca under eye brightener and the Ulta brand dupe are the ones I like, but I haven't actively taken a deep dive on them.
Undereye circles are the main issue that I have tried to address and so I have explored this area a lot. I really like the new Bobbi Brown corrector sticks, but even better for me has been the Jones Road Face Pencil #6 (from the makeup artist Bobbi Brown's new company). That is the lightest corrector shade, but there are additional darker ones (#11, #13 and #17) as well. The one that I have disappears totally into my skin no matter how much I put on and does not make my wrinkles look any worse at all, and has been very effective with regard to erasing the dark circles. The other new option that is very popular now is the Exa corrector (available on Credo and Ulta), but I think the JR and BB stick products have been a lot better for me.

Ooh, I am not going to buy the abh palette, as I am on the no-buy July bandwagon and I agree there are lots of too-pale shades. But! you reminded me with your comment about not wanting moss green in the outer corner and pinks on the lid that, in fact, that IS what I want! And I have Subculture - which I am contrary enough to insist that I love despite its issues - so I can get the grungy greens from there! Exclamation!! (Broke off while typing to try it out and now have each eye in a different pink-green combo, and both are amazing. Thank-you!)
I was so drawn to this palette colour wise but when I actually try to put the looks together in my head, I feel there's a few shades missing or that could've been swapped in to help blend the different shades together in a not weird muddy way, I feel it would be best to pick a matte and just match it with a shimmer in this palette.

It’s not a black but a dark metallic brown , it has a bit of sheen, or glitter in it. It definitely is NOT a black but it is very beautiful dark brown that colour is one of my favs, but yes we need a bridge to it. 😊

I really want that Westman Atelier Mimi, but it has been out of stock everywhere for quite a while. The Anastasia dupe is tempting but I'd rather than have the cleaner OG, I think. The Phytosurgence ones look interesting, though.

I use liberty as it's deepening shade, not ideal but good enough. I loved the inclusion of wisteria! I'd rather wings and hope were either both cool toned or both warm toned as together they look weird as hope is warm and wings is cool. But other than that I loved the whole palette a Lot! My fave this year

The ABH pallet is giving me heavy Mucha vibes, but yeah that red shift black is not at all the deep I'd pick for Mucha vibes. Maybe a very dark maroon or even a cool eggplant purple, but not a true black.

I feel like maybe some different technique for application could work better for what you’re going for. Maybe layering a crease and any mattes first with patting motions before any mutichromes or shimmers? Less layering and correcting can happen that way.
I rarely laugh; at most chuckle -- but I laughed quite a bit watching this. Great, fun review/GRWM/whatever, and beautiful look w/ the Nouveau ... for me, until Muse was added though. I'd add that to the lower lash line however, and then some pencil liner (w/ a slight wing), also in my inner rim, and smt on the inner corner. Maybe that Wings you hate, even. But Metro is a coral, no need to overcomplicate.;) Also, Muse is dk brown w/ golden shimmer infused. NOT black. W/ all due respect. Thank you for both substance and entertainment nonetheless!

I don’t know why but the ABH website indicates with a little red * asterisk that the colors Wisteria, Paloma and Metro “are NOT for use near the eyes”. Go figure!?
Common FDA warning for certain red, pink, and purple eyeshadows.
The FDA requires that warning, but most of the pigments the FDA flags for this are considered safe in the EU/UK. The FDA updates at glacial speeds.
That ABH palette just looks like a sadder, less curated version of the Oden’s Eye Amber Tears palette 🤣
ABH shimmers definitely need finger application in my experience.
MAC has a color like that and it was all the rage at one time. This palette is not doing it for me like the Modern Renaissance one.
I can't support ABH if Anastasia still makes money from it. Not trying to fund M A G A 2024. But, everyone has a right to their politics just like I have the right to save my coin. Love you Kackie!

This palette is a no for me. I really wish Muse would be a matte, I cannot use shimmer to deepen up the outer corner. That is a fallout disaster waiting to happen. I also don't like that the green matte doesn't seem to be green on the eyes. I watched several reviews, and on everyone I've watched, it just looks grey. Defenitely a pass for me.
anastasia herself has been supporting putin, so i'm not giving that brand my money anymore. sucks though because that palette is lovely.

I do not understand why everyone is so excited about the ABH palette. It looks boring and off season.
Tbh what did it for me was the initial promo shots. The green/updated ABH packaging is deceiving to the eye and makes the shadows seem more unique because these nudes are basically presented within a colorful border… As soon as I saw the swatches without the unit carton I realized how nude and relatively basic this story was, and that I could mostly create this palette with my current collection. Not sure if this happens to anyone else!
