I made jowar roti for the first time but very differently and didnt cime out well. Now i am watching your video and learnt right way to make jowar roti. Thankyou for sharing your recipe.
Yes even I use hot water to make it.Luckly my house help is maharashtrian and she makes jowar, bajra any such bhakhri easily by using normal water,so it depends.I use hot water which makes dough sticky and easy to make.
@@VegetarianTastebuds I know 2 methods..1 kneading with normal water , then rolling like normal chapati but this always end up with slightly dry and hard texture like Rotla style and another mixing ata in Boiling water and then steam it for 5mins after switching off the gas. In this we can roll rotis very soft without breaking it and thinner too. But yours is new method, will try and let you know. Thanks for sharing this.
Its a long precedure due to cooking in the cooker and nobody has that much time & not convenient. Just boil equal amount of water, add little salt, & 1tsp oil, add jowar/bajri flour and mix with spoon, turn of the gas, cover & let it rest abt 3 to 5 mts so u can knead with yr add well. Dough is ready. Make balls, pat once in dry jowar flour, & roll.
Thank you Maam for this urself video as well as giving important information that Jowar is Gluten free grain.. God bless you Maam. Liked n SUBSCRIBED your channel 🤗🙏🏼❤🤗
@@VegetarianTastebuds Hi, Jowar ki Roti ya Bhakri banakar rakh di toh woh thode samay baad kacchi ho jaati hai.. Jowar ki Roti ya Bhakri lambe samay ke liye fresh rahe uske liye kya kar sakte hain?
I’m new to making these, making with the boiled water etc but mine are a bit crisp not at all soft, crack on folding please advise 😢 How thick should the roti be for lovely soft result?
Jowar is a gluten free grain, so we need to develop stickiness in it for binding. Cooking jowar atta helps in that process and so it becomes very easy to roll rotis and rotis turn out soft.
Hi Kiranji, yes that is another common method to make jowar rotis. I have tried both and I find this method better in terms of texture of roti. Thank you
kya garam pani dalkar aata knead karte hai toh usse bhi jyada iss method se aata knead karnese rotis jyada soft hoti hai ?uss method se bhi jyada kya iss method se rotis soft hoti hai ?

Dough might be little overcooked or it might be lacking moisture. Next time cook it on low flame. When kneading the dough if you feel it is dry, sprinkle 1 to 2 tsp of water and knead again. Water quantity can vary as per the flour quality. Hope this helps
Hi Kinjjal, maybe dough would have been over cooked. Another reason can be lack of moisture. Qty of water depends on quality of flour. So next tym you can try adding lil more water
Hi Ritaji. There are many versions to make jowar rotis. This is our version to make jowar rotis softer and even stay soft after 24 hrs. It depends on you whether you choose this method or continue with the method you use. Thank you 😊
I tried this method...turned out so good ! Made it with ragi also with the same method. Thank you for this extremely helpful recipe 🙏

Add hot water while preparing. No need to pressure cook.
Hi rekhaji, that is surely one of the methods. But my focus here was on how to increase softness.

This is so clever, it makes it easier to roll out without cracking.
One can pressure cook a larger amount of dough if you need more rotis.

Good. No salt?

Lovely, instead of pressure cooking is there another method?
There is one. You can knead the dough with hot water, though it won't yield same soft texture but surely you will notice a difference
Can I make keto flour like this
Super
Kya bajra roti yese bana sakte hai?
Yes
If some one does not have pressure cooker.how can i cook the dough
Can cook in hot water
Hey can I cook the atta in a steamer. If yes how long?
Yes, you can. Cook for 4 to 5 mins medium flame, and follow the same steps

How thick should the roti be for lovely soft result?
Make sure you are following exact instructions in the video. Not pressure cooking for more time or adding water. Roti can be medium thick
Add psyllium husk or lanthanide gum powder in jawar powder and make dow to prepare roti.
Thank you,for teaching me.
Why u have to pressure cooker the jowar atta
Jowar is a gluten free grain, so we need to develop stickiness in it for binding. Cooking jowar atta helps in that process and so it becomes very easy to roll rotis and rotis turn out soft.

Do we not add salt while making the dough
You can add if you want

Do we have to use hot water or cold water, Ma'am?
Hi meenaji, use room temperature water.
Can we keep this dough in fridge like we keep wheat roti dough ?
Yes, coat the dough with ghee and keep in an air tight container in refrigerator. You can store it for upto 24 hrs
Garam pani dalna na usme
Nahi, normal paani
I followed whatever you said but i dont know where I made mistake
Hi Kinjjal, maybe dough would have been over cooked. Another reason can be lack of moisture. Qty of water depends on quality of flour. So next tym you can try adding lil more water
