Powerage is the AC/DC fans’ AC/DC album. Been my favourite since I was a kid. It’s just different to everything else they ever did - but with the same essential Rock ingredients. Still love it decades on.
Gotta agree, although the live album "If You Want Blood..." is what introduced me to them. I was blown away by Angus's leads in almost every song, especially "Bad Boy Boogie" and "Whole Lotta Rosie", but to be honest, I cooled on him. Malcolm is the one who drove all the songs.
Man, you are making me want to pull out my Powerage disc and play it end to end, lying on my bed, with headphones on like I did hundreds of times in my youth. DAF!
Definitely AC/DC best album. Your having a great start to 2022 because you got POWERAGE in your soul now. Love your reviews. I did subscribe. Keep it up. ROCK ON!!!!!!
@@watchbizmatikSquirrel, I don't know if you've had a squirrel or not? But maybe i'd say Daisy waited a few squirrelers. I say they say the name of the song is squaler. It's a c d c brother
I tell you a squirrel, you remember a squirrel? I remember I see Daisy squirreller. All do I remember a few squirrels? And I say daisy doing the same hey I sleep dexter he does the squirrel
Overdose came out in 1977 and Gimme a bullet in 1978. Bon was a ladies man, but it was around these years his one and only wife divorced him. I always wondered if his feelings came through in those songs.
Gimme a Bullet is just one of a long chain in folk/country/blues/rock, like Johnny Cash's "I guess things happen that way". "Come tomorrow; come to grips with being all alone". It's 'I feel miserable but I'm not going to make a big deal out of it.' People don't write lyrics like that unless they're going through some stuff.
That bass I played this religiously when my ex ghosted me. The humor and just awesomeness of the song helped me. I fuckin love this album. No guitar solo but the brother guitarists and rhythm section are killing it. And Bon's double entendre lyrics 👌 This song just G R O O V E S with little hard rock touch. Masterpiece. I always thought the bullet was nipples 👀 but since it's AC/DC its left open to interpretation.
Fun fact: Malcom & Angus's older brother, George Young. Formerly of Easy Beats fame, and producer of Bon Scott era AC/DC with Harry Vanda, making Vanda & Young. George plays Bass on this track in typical Young fashion: deceptively simple, superb feel. RIP Malcom.
Nice to learn. Because I've always thought this doesn't sound like Cliff Williams at all. I think George Young is part of the reason AC/DC's early albums sound so tight. Also, "Good Times" by the Easybeats is a goodass song.
Trust me, Biz. When you do Highway To Hell you're gonna be in even more awe and you won't be able to stop jamming to every song on that album. That being said, I'm still waiting for Kicked In Teeth. Everyone can relate to it. And the song and lyrics are so easy to rock to. Love your reactions. I'll be here everyday as usual. Especially when you're doing Bon Scott songs!
Same shit different day BizMan!!!!!! The more things change the more they stay the same hombre!!!!!! The circle of life as “they” say!!!! Thank you for this!!!!! Keep on keeping on!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!!🎸🎸🎸🎸😎😘
The intro to the next song you heard a glimpse on.. top 3 of the album. In my order it goes, gone shooting, riff raff, kicked in the teeth again, what's next to the moon and up to my neck in you. They are all really good though!
this album was solid gold the second the vinyl was pressed! the listen to your elders is probably what we should've done but i know from experience i wouldn't so why would i expect you would???? the only way we truly learn is to go through some shit on our own......... and pay the consequences! keep on rocking my man
@@doug.c.9873 I’m not sure who it is, but the bassline carries this song so well. There is no Angus solo and this song just rips so hard! It’s in my top 5 AC/DC songs
And this Is why rock and roll is the best music out there and acdc brought alot of this too bad bon had to pass too young a few months before I was born
I remember listening to this with my koss AAA head phones out of our family’s Sansui g9000 pure DC receiver Layin in my bed sorting seeds from a lid of weed in a shoe box lid rollin Joints for school to sell for 2 bucs a piece at high school
One thing about Malcolm, not only did he know how to play a guitar, he knew how to play the tubes in the amps. He knew how to hit you with a huge wall of sound that hits in your soul.
Hold off on the rankings yet Biz. You haven't gotten to the Highway to Hell and Back in Black albums yet! The final with Bon and the first with Brian. Their 2 best in my humble opinion. Back in Black is straight up the heaviest album ever made. Again, just my opinion. Keep up the great work!
Lol Back in black is AC DC lite, 2 may be 3 decent songs the rest polly filler. Highway to hell is better but you can here the change away from 12 bar blues rock to in essence the Matt Lange effect, who produced it. After Back in black they are not really worth listining to. Commercial bland radio rock.
No brother I don't understand might be. I missed it? I don't know? But how voted how vote in Charlotte and roll brother. Let's ACDC ACDC does have voltage. I do have voltage, me and ACDC we both do. How about it plug the ants somehow vote to its brother.
I think squirrelers would flip the brothers out that song by Isaiah Daisey? I'll be right, brother squirrel, or i'll, that'll that off that'll flip their laid. You got a squirrel or that's the name of I say daisy
Powerage is a masterpiece from start to finish.
Yes sir it is
My favorite album. Not gonna say it’s better than any other album, but it’s criminally underrated.

One of my favorites by ACDC, I wish More people reviewed this song.
yep underrated song ...one of the best of the Bon era
This made my Best of Bon Scot Era mix cd I made for my sister.
Best song from Ac/DC ever!
Hands down best Ac/Dc album ever..
Seeing Bon on the thumbnails of videos is a breath of fresh air. I'm glad my boy is getting some recognition; not enough reactors give him his due.
Love seeing people get into the obscure songs......Bon Scott years were great and just raw!

The best album...,...my fav song
This might be the only AC/DC song where Angus doesn't play a solo.
How about Rock n Roll Damnation. Not really a solo in there too
Back then a new definition of Rock & Roll
Headbangers won't bully
Remind me someday you'll get ahold of a squirrel. I say Daisy may an AC daisy's date. Dead a few squirrels I say they say does the sound code squealer
Dial GBA LLS Bigg Boss always glad I got him see Daisy. Does the song about my Bigg Boss? A call big boss by a c d c
It is very interesting that there is solo but bass line is funktastic
Luv ya Biz you need to get a picture with Bon and Malcolm. Had a hour and a half commute to work and I listened to this every night on my way home

I can say, not a bad track on all the albums from High Voltage through Back in Black. Hit or miss after that.

All i get from highway to hell is wow best yet imagine if bon didn't die and back in black was a bon scott album..... he wrote some of the songs

I think this maybe the only AD/DC song that doesn't have an Angus solo?
Wait till you get to Sin City!

Bon Scott was a better lyricist but Brian has the better voice imo.
