      @@SonnyGTA and don’t give me 🤦‍♀️emoji, like I’m some newbie. I not only have every AC/DC Bon Scott album, including the Australian release of high voltage and TNT, I also have the fraternity releases with Bon with hits like seasons of change and Hemmings Farm.
      You think I don’t know Sin City? E, B, D, A…and repeat.
      I know me my sin city and all
      of powerage. Carry me home, love song and fling thing and songs 99% of songs other AC/DC fans have never heard of. If it happened before 1984 (before fly on the wall, then they started sucking), i know all about it, thank you very much..

    I beg younger people who got into AC/DC via "Back in Black" to go listen to "Powerage". The universal reaction is something like "Holy S*%#". This is not a Brian vs Bon thing. It is that Powerage is an immaculate album full that never gets enough credit. Their best work.

    • @mrtv777
      @mrtv777 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Truth! I’ll take bon over Brian though. Lyrically and sounds just badass

    • @davidwood6351
      @davidwood6351 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I don't think that it can be anything but a Bon v Brian thing. If you experienced AC/DC when Bon was in charge, then Brian who seems like a top geezer there is no comparison. Back in Black was a Bon album , you can hear him in it. No harm to Brian but he could not hold a candle to Bon's lyrics.

    • @claimguy
      @claimguy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@davidwood6351 Well, it is not a Bon v Brian thing for me because I was not talking about lyrics or even the difference in vocals. AC/DC's sound changed over the years and Powerage sounds like blues rock recorded in a garage. And I think the riffs are a little stronger, overall. That is something that is not uncommon when you aren't trying to do something different than your past work. If anything it is probably that career timing effect and a Vanda/Young vs Mutt Lange production thing.

      But from a music pov, Bon´s lyrics, the sounds, the whole thing was MUCH MUCH better.
      You need to understand - if Bon Scott area means 99-100% quality, with brian it is still 85-90%. And far ahead of all other bands.

    Bon Scott's finish to this song always surprised me that he could add that extra cello to his voice to make it a true blues classic. Luv what you do. Your responses during the solos show how deep you go. I have to tell a story now that I found your channel. I've been playing blues guitar for probably 40 years. I met a sax player from New Orleans and I played him "Ride On". He sat and listened like he was telling the story and when the song was over all he said was "that is some nasty blues". Bon had a way of telling a story that just hit home. So glad to see you connect with it. CHEERS

    The guys in AC/DC were huge fans of blues and early rockn'roll ( e.g. Chuck Berry, Little Richard), the lyric content of which deals with the African American experience, and just the "street experience" in general. And several hip hop artists have admitted to being huge fans of AC/DC. It all ties together.

    I remember hearing this the first time. Hairs on my arms went up. I'm jumping all over my room. The slow down... The lyrics... Queue rock grimace... Fist in the air. Stadium rock in my bedroom!

    I've never heard anything definitive about the pronuciation of "Powerage", and I've been a 42 yr fan of the band. Most people, including me, pronounce it the way you do, Biz. Go with it. BTW, thanks for devoting so many reactions to ACDC. They are obviously worthy but no reactionists out there do what u do in terms of delving into their body of work. You ROCK, sir.

    The poster you show is with Brian Johnson on vocals, but what you played was Bon Scott on vocals... 😉

    Bon Scott and AC/DC hadn’t had their big break yet and were known as the “working man’s band” in Australia and elsewhere, they put in all the hard work but hadn’t gotten the big payday or success yet until highway to hell and back in black, which Bon Scott only got to see a little of because he died during the back in black sessions. They really became millionaires off back in black. They were all geniuses, and this was before they had even made it!!!

    BizMatik, you know that Bon Scott has the best lyrics ever written for AC/DC, and he was the BEST vocalist and frontman to ever perform in an Australian band. OMG, Bon was the frickin greatest of all time man… 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺👏👏👏🇦🇺🇦🇺👏👏👏

    I’m happy you like AC/DC. Yes they started out very poor. They work hard and never give up. Did you hear the other song. It’s a long way to the top if you want to rock n roll. Peace out brother.

    This is their best album in my opinion it was hard to find back in the seventies, but I did find it and still have it, The engineers of this band are Angus and Malcolm Young

    A bit of an AC/DC history lesson here; In the UK in the 1950s the Australian government allowed poor families to get cheap, one way tickets down under so they could start a new, hopefully better, life. Both the Youngs and Bon Scott's families took up this offer. So, when Bon writes and sings about being poor he knows what he's talking about. He had experience of poverty long before he was a struggling musician.
