- Quick video for some VW fans to see how a stock Golf 7.5 R holds up against the 2019 Polo GTI + with a stage 1 map.
First race is from Launch and the second is a rolling race from 30MPH in 2nd gear!

I want a Polo now! Surely closer to the original mk1 Gti Golf than an actual Golf! and not bad value new.

Don't think so great car but GTI still is way better in terms of value for more space, power, looks and reputation. Love all VW's grew up fixing and breaking them🤣 @08.00_zulu (IG) if you wana see a stage 3 GTI.
Polo gti is a great car, when it’s stock it reminds me of a golf 5 in performance.

On the rolling start the polo stuck it to the golf, only advantage the golf has really is 4 wheel drive off the line n that's the gap it will always keep. Nice video guys
the road was way too short for a rolling race, take it to the highway and the polo will be no where to be seen
@@sajidhowlader6620 you've got that the wrong way round. Golf is a heavier car overall, plus the haldex system weight + drivetrain loss. The two cars will most likely be neck and neck all the way to their top speeds

Golf is heavier. Speed is all about power to weight.
Haldex awd system only helps with traction out of corners and from a standing start. Otherwise it's just added weight and bogs down.
What dont you understand?
If the polo is running 250bhp from the stage 1 then the golf would only start to pull away slowly after about 90mph. By which point you're losing your license if you get caught.
Having a road car that is fast above 90mph is literally a waste of money.
I would know. I had a stage 2 m135i with 390bhp and sold it for a 2017 polo gti.
What car do you drive? I'm guessing you dont...
@@djibby1157 I've got a mk7 golf r and I've literally put this to the test which negates everything you've said. I'm not gonna even go into details because it's pointless and you've clearly got it wrong thinking a polo will beat a 7r in a roll race 😂😂

Realy, you think so, only 20hp down, more nm and less weight and it still got demolished, I wonder why. Fwd sucks, can't get power down so it's useless to tune it.
swansmeister tbf, that polo is now stage 2 and he demolished that 7.5 in a rolling race when we did it again, so that statement doesn’t actually apply to anything other than a drag race
@@DSGDemons ofc cause a stage 2 polo has more than 300hp and probably close 2 500nm but talking like that what are we doing than? Real life situations on the street are more often from stoplight to stoplight and second of all give that golf r only a stage 1 and the stage 2 polo is back to square 1 and will get demolished again. Point is awd is just superior to fwd in any situation.
swansmeister ok not sure what country you’re from but traffic light to traffic light isn’t realistic in the UK. The most likely situation is an encounter on the motorway (highway if you’re from America) in which it would be more like a rolling race, and in the rolling race, the polo wins.
It should vs a stock golf gti. Golf Rs have wheel drive so it will be so much quicker off the line. But very nice video.

Cool Video. Tnx for the upload.. Interessting... What are the Polos mods and is the Golf R completely stock.? Who did the tune on the polo? Stage 1tune the highest i've seen is 265-275 ps/hp & 430-440Nm. Stage 2. the highest power on stock turbo i've seen is 281ps & 465Nm so seems more like a stage 2 tune...?
No problem! The polo is running a Stage 1 + Tune from DDG Remapping, produce really good figures compared to other stage 1’s.. the 7.5 R is completely stock and has a res delete only. The owner of the Polo has just bought an IS38 turbo and will be putting that in soon aswell, so stay tuned for another race!
DSG Demons That explains the not quite stock sound of the Golf R. :) Wasn’t doubting the power figures. The video clearly demonstrates that the real world performance backs up the figures.. Just quoting the highest figures I’ve seen to date on stage 1 tune.
Do you have any numbers for stage 2 with downpipe, intake, turbo inlet, turbo muffler delete, GFB DV+ & better intercooler? Looking to go that route first, then add the IS38 later maybe even hybrid IS38. Only missing DP and Intake 😎, biding my time to see who are getting good results with the EA888 Gen 3B. DDG Just made the shortlist.
Any dragy 100-200 times for current tune?
Will be looking forward to other vids. Would like to know if there is noticeble lag on IS38 compared to stock.

Can the Polo's DSG hold this kind of torque without breaking in the long term? I'm kind of interested to buy one as a daily driver.

Vw/Audi has got 6 or 7 different dsg. This one is used in a suv for example. Much more heavy. Should be a good choice. My gti has got 49000km and everything works fine... These kilometers was driven on tracks with curves. 2. and 3. gear roads. Everythihng like the first day. I will change transmission oil these days. Earlier then 60.000km. The whole car feels like a real good car. I drove golf 245hp... very cool... But polo feels like an engine with wheels, u can ride on. I think... up to 400hp and a driver who loves his car... No Problem. This car is made to have fun. A real handbreak f.ex. ... Made for fun. Sound...pox out and roooaaar... Made for fun. It makes 30.000€ but the fun u can squeeze out of it is about 200-300.000€. im german. Its impossible to explain in a foreign language
Today i talked to a tuning guy from apr. He told me its dq250 and they use it up to 500nm. (Wikipedia 380) If i want more, they will do an upgrade with the dsg. Stage1, stage2... More pressure on those clutch disks for example.
im happy even tho my car lost the roll race to the polo makes sense tho polo lighter so just gotta match the hp then irs competitive with the stock golf r lff the roll

JamesyBoyJim no the Golf has an IS38, the Polo runs and IS20. But the polo owner is considering upgrading to IS38 next year. Then he’ll be killing stock tgolf R’s

80hp from stage 1 stock 200hp? You wouldn't get an extra 80hp from a stage 1 Golf R would you?

the R has AWD it's not a very fair comparison, but from a rolling race it did amazingly good if you ask me, we're talking like for the price of one golf R you can literally get a Polo GTI and another Polo GTI as a spare lol.

I know this guys car and this video title is so misleading. It's not stage 1 at all is it? It has a decat, OPF delete, intake, turbo elbow and muffler delete etc.... It's Stage 2.
Flibbib not at all mate, it was stage 1+ at the time of this race. It has since been remapped you stage 2. 👍🏼
It’s my car bud, was stage 1+ engine map at the time, now gearbox map, now is stage 2 full engine and dsg map.
Yes it was Stage 1+ not just Stage 1 according to the OP and also had all kinds of other add on goodies, DP , etc.

@@IgnitionMedia Lol. Nope, you can add a dp to a stock car. It might get you a CEL but you dont need to do Stage 2. You need to do more research.
