I drove this car for like 30 miles (coming from a 3.0 litre A6 TDI). In my opinion, the car is not made for high speeds on the Autobahn. On a regular road I hit 180km/h and it felt like taking off any second due to irregularities of the road. Very unstabile at high speed on unperfect road. Had to make corrections all the time. I literally feared going faster there and I think that is the reason the driver keeps slowing down when reaching >220. Very fine car in terms of handling, sound, materials, interior design and all. Very agile! A pleasure. Made for sharp turns and mountain roads, less for Autobahn high speed. But when you think of it, that is a normal thing. The engine can, but car is too small for such speeds. Of course if you want you can try hitting whatever >240 but...this is not the car for it and I think this video prover me right...

@VMP best Weapon in COD History Very much so. Ive driven 1200km so far and its been great. Ive hit 235kmh on the german Autobahn, its quick on acceleration, and it sounds great. Im not sure if that sound is as great on the outside as well or if its purely sound engineering. I dont care Most of my driving is from home to work and vice versa so fuel economy was important to me. On the highway Ive averaged 6.3l/100km multiple times. Amazing for a 200hp car that did 0-100km/h in 6.4 seconds in the wet on a Vbox measure with lauch control. My parents drive a 2017 Suzuki Vitara 1.6 with 1l20hp and that averages 7.0 on the same route. Ill try to upload some videos soon to share my joy.
@@DutchManticore average 6.3? Now do some real calculations.. do a full tank and measure the km you can do with the full tank. Then you will get the real fuel consumption. Why? Because my sister Tiguan 1.4TSI 2017, did 6.7l/100km but the real fuel consumptiom was aprox. 9.4l/100km. ;)

Polo GTI is actually the old Golf GTI. Same size, loads of fun, enough power, and still affordable. Especially the last is no longer really true for the Golf GTI.
I'm curious about how much hp you would get on this engine with a remap... like a golf gti you can easily achieve 300hp with stage1. Imagine that little thing having 280hp... little monster!
the Up! is only a 3-zyl turbo engine with 115 HP, the same what i have in my current Polo 6C. I think the Up! need to be Named GT or so and not GTI :-D
Up GTI with normal basic 85kW for a 1.0T not enough even tho its lite weight. They must consult Ford to turne those 1.0T. I would prefer Opel Adam S even tho its practically smaller cabin than the up
another guy on the autobahn reached 252 kph but because it wasnt in an exactly straight line, i thought it could reach 255 kph. if you are a good driver, max 260. he drives cars only once on the highway, he doesnt live with any of them on a daily basis. ill give you an example how much of a difference that makes. i used to own a 1.4l honda jazz, not tuned around 10 years of age, 80 bhp. i reached 200 kph of top speed and the car was just about to fly off, but it didnt. as scary as it was, that little car reached 200 kph, since i owned the car for more than 4 years i knew how it drives. this guy takes them for a nice spin for youtube views, he doesnt live with these cars. huge difference.
@@emiliospowerballer1441 top speed isn't about slight corners or being a good driver, all you need is a long road with no obstacles that mean you have to slow down, and plant your foot to the floor. In a manual you want to know which gear will get you fastest e.g 4th 5th or 6th, depends on gearbox ratios and how much torque the engine kicks out, as well as aerodynamics.
i think it was the DSG needing a moment to find the right gear. he was accelerating, braking, accelerating again in quick succession, as it can only preselect one gear it might have been caught "in between" for a half a second.
Looks great, but it feels like 200HP isn't enough for that car. At least 230-250HP would be perfect. They wouldn't do it because de Golf GTI has 220HP so... Great video guys, awesome job as always!!
T Mthembu it is bigger than the last generation, it is really luxurious inside and high quality and this engine is powerful enough. Almost no reason to pay more for the Golf.
I had polo 1.2 TSI with DSG gearbox. The reason why shifts sound weird is because he is in the sport mode which shifts in red zone rpm's where torque starts to drop and car loses power. If you put it in tiptronic mode and shift only 300-500 rpm's earlier it sounds normal and car pulls way better. Sport mode is not for best acceleration but for sporty driving where car is down shifting on braking and keeps the engine revs higher all the time so the car is more responsive when you want to accelerate. It seems people just don't understand what the sport mode on automatic gearbox means.
Intimidating people and driving stupid like that are the reason why some people here in germany want a speed limit (I am not one of them but it is still a public road and you also have to respect slower trafic, he yould not have stopped fast enough if the other driver wouldn't have moved into the middle lane).
depends what you want. the fiesta is more "fun", the polo feels more grown up for every day driving and longer trips. both are nice cars but quite different.
Previous Polo model still sold in my country, even as a new 2020. This true nuew Polo is sold as a sedan under the name of Virtus, still not HB nor GTI version.
Good car..but if seat decide to produce ibiza cupra as i saw it on photos and some vids i think it can beat polo..better insider with alcantara and lighting maybe more space than polo and maybe 2-3k less euros..the only wondering is the deiving thing we have to wait..also more sporty exterior with nice spoiler more aggressive than polo with somwthing look alike carbon..
What you saw was the cupra ibiza concept. As far as I know it WON'T come like that as vw probably won't allow the ibiza being more upmarket then the polo unless! They bring up an upmarket polo(Performance? Clubsport? R?) Which would make me kinda angry 😂
I have test driven the Polo GTI and it feels exhausted around 190 km/h you are lacking a lot of punch and power, an intercooler and air intake change will probably solve the problem.

you should try the Fiesta ST than. It is made exactly for this. Small roads, many curves.

Same engine as the 7 gti and an is20 turbo should make similar power as golf 7 gti with a remap
