    Eagle XIV
    Cap 25
    Vents 33
    3x Arbalest
    3x Burst PD
    2x Phase Lance
    1x Ion Beam
    Advanced Optics (build in)
    Hardened Shields (build in)
    Integrated Targeting Unit (build in)
    Stabilized Shields
    Solar Shielding
    Officer (Steady / Aggressive)
    Gunnery Implants
    Ballistic Mastery
With this build your Eagle is capable of putting long range firepower and not needing to get too close to the enemy and thanks to it's ship systems it has ways to chase and backoff as it sees fit.
Arbalest is very flux efficient and does the shield pressure. Ion beam does that sweet emp damage and forces your opponent to keep shields up and disables the enemy.
Phase lances will punish the enemy for dropping those shields (phase lances also pop frigates easily if they don't have shields up btw, they do fantastic damage). Burst pd will give decent pd against all the garbage that is thrown at it for the most part.

I love how Hegemony playstyle is slow methodical and doctrinal while my conquests basically "Go fast and far, hit hard and often".

Nice video, I use the same method of building frontline in the corner when there are a lot of annoying enemies trying to take me from behind or flanks, works great. Having some reserves as countermeasure against mid combat losses are necessary too, lowers some green and blue skills effectiveness but still it's better be prepared than helpless. Good to see video about tactics, since most people focus on builds or piloting

Nice comments, I made a lot of effort to put those tactical order information in this vid since it is extremely important to low-flexible and slow ships like XIVs. About extra ships, yes it is recommended to have those if you are planning to fight something like +2 Ordos. But honestly there is no reason for doing it, and all endgame contents including +300K bounties, Remnant Nexus, Ordo and Tesseract can be cleared at a 240 DP fleet level imo - so simply just splitting the enemy fleet and destroying them one by one would be safe and more budget alternative. Again, thanks for a good comment with insight!

  • @VisibleNoises
    @VisibleNoises ปีที่แล้ว +4

A slight clarification to Elite PD. It adds 200 range after ITU. So on capital HMGs you would get 1.6*450+200, not 1.6*650. I'd also consider a Xyphos wing or 2 on the Legion, they hide behind the Engine and helps disable point defense on offending ships once they start armor tanking! For Longevity vs more Ordos I think a Mora spam strategy might have some merit. Pilums and Fighters to go on and try to swarm the relatively weak point defenses of the Remnant fleet. Missile spam strategies already work for that reason but we need Gryphons to not run out of ammo and the Hegemony doesn't have an efficient missile boat.

    • @-NB7979-
      @-NB7979-  ปีที่แล้ว

Yeah I think you're right, I tested 650 range Elite PD HMG with 700 range Railgun and Railgun shot considerably longer than HMG despite of only 50 range difference. That's weird, it should be base range extension like Ballistic Rangefinder does. But still, that's considerable range extension for PDs and it's worth to take it when considering the damage bonus against fighters and missiles. Thanks for Info, I've never heard of it before.

    • @VisibleNoises
      @VisibleNoises ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@-NB7979- If it doesn't specify base range, it's a post % based increase. I think the only base range changes in vanilla are Ballistic Range Finder and High Scatter Amplifier. And yea, it's still gives your HMGs a very nice range!

      @-NB7979-  ปีที่แล้ว +1

About vs more Ordos, If use only XIVs I don't think +3 large Ordos is possible since not only missiles but CR, armor and hull of ships will be drained due to the extended combat and accumulated damage. VS +1000 DP fights often go over 18 minutes and even Hege capitals have CR issue with such a long fight. But honestly it is not worth it, in actual gameplay there is no reason to fight more than an Ordo at a time and all endgame enemy doesn't require such war of attrition. Even though there are some better ships in this game I still love XIVs because I still can clear the game without any issue and they looks cool, awesome and can show us some nice firework with Reapers!

Ive been tinkering with the onslaught myself a bit and heres what I found:
Officer skills Ive changed out the GI for Missle Spec (elite) and switched out the reaper for Proximity Mines. Reason is that GI increases the range of HMG from 965(without GI) to 1032.5 (with) thats a difference from 67 range units and while nice its less impactfull than MS or Pol. Armor (as an alternative) Imo.
I found to get a lot of value from the Mines because a HMG setup is already incredibly brawly so Ive double downt on that. Prox mines have 1000 range, each mine has the hp of a reaper (500 or 750 with MS) and with Elite Ms you get around 825*4=3300 dps of flux free HE at the same range as your HMG.
Ofc you loose the alpha strike potental of 4 reapers but I still have legions XIV for that. Another negative would be the friendly fire aspect of the minelets but I personally found it unproblematic because you rarely want to be in the fire line of an onslought (friendly or enemy) anyway.
Im also thinking of switching out TA for PA skills too because of how much synergy it provides with whole kit even though the drop in damage hurts.
One last thing that Ive found suprisingly usefull Is utilizing a Thumper (or even two) on the medium slots right in the middle of the ship. While always seen a bit of a meme It benefits heavily from the build in Expanded Magazine and it negates the range missmatch from the HMGs with such a stupid high dps that its not that bad of an anti shield weapon even after the dmg reduction (around 333dps on shields including the fragmentation type reduction while bursting).

Yes after the update 0.96a, it seems like AI ships use PCL much better than before. 3 large Ordos around over 1300 DP equivalent of ships are almost impossible to beat with only 240 DP fleet imo, since Legions will out of Reapers and all other ships except for capitals will run out of CR and become space debris. Against other enemy, of course this fleet works because currently there are no faction fleets stronger than a Remnant Ordo in this game. One thing to say is, the tactic should be changed a little bit compared to Remnant, since most other enemy types don't go super aggressive like Remnant and make a close combat. I would choose to keep updating frontline and steamrolling them to the top of the map rather than just staying at the bottom point, because in that way I would be able to kill them quicker and more effectively.

@@-NB7979- I have been using the Tyrant against Ordos for a little while; and I think using Hellbores and Mark9s are two of my more successful builds with AWMs. It's missile turret arcs aren't the greatest; but the Fluxthrower is a wonderful armor/hull shredder. The Tyrant has a hullmod called "Aquila Reactor Protocol", which improves the speed of the vessel among other things, but it has 2 large negatives. It cuts your PPT by 25% and negates any and all weapon range increases except Base range increases. It is a brawling ship for the hyperaggressive Ordos but it lacks endurance. It's a battlecarrier tho, with 2 LPC bays.
Would be interesting to see how you would build it. I was inspired by your videos to try out XIV ships and the builds you have are so effective they are nearly universal, even against Modded factions. I killed the UAF's Solvi fleet with this loadout using 2 Onslaughts, 2 Legions, 4 Dominators, 2 Sunders and 4 Tempests as initial fleet, with 4 Eagles, 2 extra Sunders and 2 more Tempests as reserves. • @PluvioZA
    @PluvioZA ปีที่แล้ว

Personally I would take the hammers over the reapers for brute force, my legion makes short work out of ordos with that build. I would also recommend hypervelocity drivers or needlers as they perform better than multiple machine guns. I'm not totally convinced at having 3 large Devastator Cannons on the Onslaught, all you need is one duel flak and 4 small PD on the front to deal with most missile and fighter threats, the rest should be mopped up by your destroyer/frigate/fighter line. Rather use 2 hyper velocity drivers and 2 heavy Maulers shooting forwards with a Gauss Cannon or duel hypervelocity cannon, to match with the forward facing firepower of the TPC, this way you have all weapons at 1000 range (before skills & integrated targetting) for maximum threat-free firepower. Hypervelocities smash the shields, plasma weapon eats through the armor, easy winner against almost all other capitals.
Although I do enjoy the close range builds you've gone for, ultimately the XIV is all about long range artillery barrages. You need a heavy line of withering fire coming from your capitals while the smaller destroyers and frigates protect them at close range. Your builds are good, but you're going too heavy on the defense against small craft and missiles where it isn't needed, you could focus on giving more potent long range weapons to many of the ships to assist breaking the AI's defense line.
Your choice of frigates is good, and the dominator build is also pretty decent, but that Eagle build was kind of odd, once again it should be focused on 800+ range weaponry at a minimum, even 700 is pushing it, but medium needlers have such insane value for the burst damage they can put out that I can overlook it for some ships. The Eagle is a shoot and scoot type of ship, made to do hit and run attacks and not to get super close to the enemy as it is made out of paper and toothpicks.

    • @-NB7979-
      @-NB7979-  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks for the long and detailed comments and suggestions! I also recognize all the factors you said and trying to do some different XIV builds as you said.
Although one thing to say is, the HMGs and Devastators in this fleet are not only for PD but also mid-to short range brawl against Remnant, since their officer personality is always 'fearless' and due to their relatively short range of energy weapons they always love to fight in a knife-fighting close range. HMGs and Devastators are extremely effective in this situation. The problem of Long-range weapons like HVDs and Heavy Mauler is, they are too expensive OPwise and their DPS and Flux efficiency are not very good. Also, to use long range weapons properly you need to keep a distance from enemy, but unfortunately Remnants are too mobile and aggressive to fight like that - in other words, you always need to prepare close combat against them. That's the reason why I choose such loadouts on Legion and Onslaught, long range weapons are too weak and flux-inefficient so can't prevent Remnants from overwhelming our ships in my experience.
Anyway, thanks for the great comment again!

      @-NB7979-  ปีที่แล้ว +1

+ About the Eagle, I am totally agree with you 😂 As I mentioned in the vid It was just an example, I still didn't find any good way of using it in Ordo fight. They get killed too easily and lack of firepower, and all the long range builds I made were not working well against them since Remnant ships are always just steamrolling it.

@@-NB7979- Hey thanks for replying! I do see where you are coming from with regards to the super aggressive [REDACTED] and how they jump into your fleet. But trust me, if you go heavy mix of missile, fighter/bomber and artillery they just can't last, it's beautiful many of them break long before they reach your ships. I'll admit you may need some careful position orders against double [REDACTED] battleship.
To make it work, one must sacrifice a few hull mods, usually focusing on getting very high flux capacity and venting. You have to change your energy build with a long range fleet. Only the hullmods you definitely need, otherwise everything else into shields, range, firing speed, ammo, venting and flux capacity. Forget about armour, hull, speed and such things, embrace the pure dakka!
But that's the great thing about SS, there are so many builds that work, I guess I'm more offering you a different build to try, it definitely works!

Good video toke me a while to be able to watch it today, since you have text only and having the text at the bottom of the screen made it very difficult for me to watch it during free time at work on my cellphone. I suspect English is not your first langue and the reason why you used text and not speech for video. I'd recommend a text to speech app if that is the case. They are really good ones now days.
As for the content I pretty much did roughly the same in the pass but some differences. First you have BALLS making and Eagle with a short range build, I tried too many times in the pass and even if you get something DECENT it's never GOOD. I focus only on Long range weapons on them now days, I'll give them a try again when I have time to play.
Secondly as @Jeffery Xu mentioned Moras would be good IMPO. I usually my fleets builds from Enforce/Condor to Domi/Mora to Legion/Domi/Mora, The enforcers get phased out over time normally but tend to keep the condor's as back spam to fill the void of destroyed ships in battle until the Fleet limit starts to force them out. I would replace the Sunders with Moras as with pillums and the right fighters Moras are more flexible to than sunders and with Railguns as it main weapons it can act as a mini tanking legion when pushed.

About Eagle, yeah... I don't think that build was good either, and that was the reason why I used Dominator at the fight instead of Eagle. The long-range Eagle is pretty good and works well in most situations but against Remnant, it didn't show any good enough performance. Imo Dominator and Eradicator are much better at job, so couldn't find the way to use them despite of cheapest DP among them. Those brawl build Eagle was just for an interesting example, as I mentioned in vid I don't think it is good enough to be used in actual Ordo fight too.
I tried Mora before, but the result was always the same - One Legion is better than two Moras. Mora has too little OP to fill loadouts and lack of punch Legion has, so for me it was difficult to use it. Plus, it doesn't have a XIV variant XD I'll do some try with Mora again and try my best to get some good result, since I've always loved carriers and the design of Mora.
Overall, good suggestions and thanks for the comment again!

what about the xiv enforcer and xiv wolf?

    • @-NB7979-
      @-NB7979-  ปีที่แล้ว

Wolf is in Hegemony auxiliary group as same as Kite and Hound, so technically not a XIVs (although they are still part of Hege ships). About the Enforcer and Falcon, I've never used them before and don't think they are good enough to be used in lategame large battle such as Ordo fight, so I didn't include them. I am trying to include some Enforcers in the fleet now, but they don't seem competitive enough to me unfortunately XD

Hey i love the content but i often don't understand what you are trying to say and i need to read it a couple of times. If you are using google translate, don't (it's bad and the only good thing about it is that it covers a lot of languages). i don't know what language you speak so i cant recomend one directly, but as a example (i'm from poland so i would look for a polish to english translator): a good one for polish to english is "Deepl"

I'm from South Korea and no I didn't use a translator, I thought the description was all right except for letters are a little bit small and sometimes go too fast. Sorry for those difficulties and inconvenience I made, next time when I make a new video, I will find a way to deal with this issue.

The one with a Tesseract and other S-modded ships? I've never tried it before, so can't say yes. But against regular tesseracts fight, it works and actually that fight is easier than Ordo fight.

I love detailed battles and loadouts, what got me got me going nuts was how often the Sunders would not take the opportunity to assist a targeted remant cruiser but rather just target some other ship further away while ALSO blocking the line of fire for the Legion IVs. 20:50 and multiple other parts is where I just lose it. I am a lover for Sunders and aggressive fleets but they just dont settle well in frontlines imo, the Sunder AI officers did very poorly in this combat! 🥲

    • @-NB7979-
      @-NB7979-  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yeah theoretically Sunder should stay behind the capitals and assist them with long-range beam support, but unfortunately it seems like the AI of Sunder is not smart enough for that XD That's the reason why I change them to Enforcers in my new vid, Enforcers perform way better than Sunders in those kinds of job. Besides, Enforcers are part of XIV group so even fit more in Hege concept! 😂
