Also going on an exploration mission with fuel enough for only way there in hope to find more, not finding enough, spamming distress call, wonder why nobody came.
I was constantly struggling with supplies, got enough for an exploration and found a pristine Legion XIV Battlecarrier. Refited it and got really heavy crew shortages and supply consumption, barely made it to the core worlds. Totally worth it, after some changes it hits like a truck and fighting remnants is really easy
@@stankobarabata2406 Ah okay, well I personally don't think i'm above the tutorials. I must have missed the point about supply consumption during combat in the tutorial when i first started playing.
Could you make a video on fleet making? I'm at a point where I'm not sure if my ships are good enough for hunting down anyone, if I should buy expensive ships that would be worth the investment, if they are what is really necessary for my fleet. Thanks
Starsector just got a nice big update! Including story points! Letting you do very interesting things like building in hull mods (making them free) or recovering ships you may not be able to normally! Also story updates do ive heard! I hope to see more content from you soon
Great video man! It's a shame this stuff isn't explained in the game itself. I have one question though: are sensor profile and sensor strength similar to maximum burn in the sense that your fleet's sensor strength is equivalent to that of your best ship and your profile equivalent to that of the worst?
To quote the wiki, "Each fleet has a detected-at range equal to the sum of its five ships with the highest sensor profile, and a sensor range equal to the sum of the five ships with the highest sensor strength." (Sorry I didn't see your comment sooner!)
i always manage to get buttfucked instantly by a huge pirate fleet after starting a new game if i go on missions. even if i destroy their fleet i walk away with losses. super frustrating.
@zzz43452 can you help me, for some reason i cant complete the pirate quests. They just say to turn off my transponder and not raise attention. I did that but still to no avail.
@@n1vr132 You probably know by now, but if you destroyed any pirate fleets close to that planet they dont care. It take around a month for them to allow you in again and around 3 months if you bomb them.
Sir, why is combat readines decreasing, while staying in combat or on battlefield while not being attacked? What is the idea of this? Hardly can imagine that. So my ship floating in space while rest of fleet fighting far ahead for example. Ship wasn't hit. Then how and what factor should affected CR? Why engine suddenly starts to failure? Why reactor core and weapon (should be must reliable one) could fail? By what mean? Sorry if there is grammar mistakes or "strange" english lads.
I suppose it's like in the 19th century, when ships travelled and patrolled using sails, then turned to coal power during battles. I assume a warship has hundreds of resource intensive subsystems that are not in use outside battle, and I also assume those require a lot of maintenance. When you deploy a ship you turn on its combat mode and tell it to stand by with all systems operational.
Crew nerves and alertness also drops over time when standing to but not in combat. I don't believe that combat takes place in realtime so some battles may take place over multiple days.
With the right loadout a low tech ship can demolish ships just as well as high tech ships. High tech ships (i.e. phase ships) can be slightly better against higher numbers than low tech ships but it doesn't matter too much. 😒
you would benefit from having some light music subtly playing in the background. eg. watching your guides i have Hollow Knight Music - Fungal Wastes OST Extended on 1/4 volume. it's not too invasive and it fits well.
Remember when we'd deploy all our ships to destroy a couple weak ass pirates then wonder why our supplies were so low afterwards? Good times

Oh and they changed the skill tree so you can't just pick whatever, works a bit more like a typical tech tree
yes. its here. and the volume is normal too.
You are my hero
Thanks for the video, I would definitely watch a let’s play.
Good to see another video. You planning on getting a let’s play out there? Would be great to see you explain why you are doing stuff while playing.
Very informative and to the point, thanks.
Awesome information!
Your a life-saver. Thanks
Great series! Thank you.
Subbed, thanks a lot for this

Mouse over the numbers and click F1 and them bath in knowledge

Thanks a lot guys!
Thank you so much
how do you have 2 heavy mortars on your hammerhead when the hammerhead dosnt have any heavy mounts?
Heavy Mortars are medium mount weapons, not Large. The Large mount equivalent would be something like a Hellbore Cannon.
Can I mitigate the effects of a warp storm by refitting my ships with a Geller Field?
Yes, however daemonic possession tends to lower combat readiness massively

Overdrives, all the overdrives and add bigger guns
When I buy ships there always moth balled how do I make them un mothballed?
Where is part 2?

2:53 No, high tech is best tech.
