My mom had it growing up in the 40s and 50s. It was free scraps the butcher gave to the blacks back in the day. Mom cooked it for us in the 80s 90s. I'm cooking it today!
Pigs feet is not considered poor peoples food in parts of Europe and Asia. People in other countries view it as real normal food because it’s actually delicious
Definitely under rated meat/protein source. Many turn their noses up at those, neck bones, etc. But prepared correctly? Very good, with some black eyed peas, collard greens, potatoes, rice, of pretty much anything. Those you put their noses up, don't know what they're missing. And when you have to make something economical, then dishes like these are....basically, what you have. Better than starving. Nice job on the recipe.
My grandmother cooked pig feet all the time. I haven’t had any since then, until my husband started looking at a variety of cooking videos and it reminded me of days of yesteryear. I decided to use your recipe, and they turned out great! I just added a little bit of barbecue sauce once they cooked down and place them on top of rice with hot sauce. Thanks
Thank you so much for watching Constance. I’m so glad that you enjoyed your pigs feet after following the recipe. 💕 Thanks for letting me know how you liked them. 😊
I grew up eating pigs feet. My mouth is watering for them. I have never cooked them. I have company coming and they asked for pigs feet. Your recipe looks delicious. Thank you. 😊 I’m going to attempt this recipe.
I was cornbread bred...I've had it all pigs feet, ear, tail, my dad use to bread head home boil it down in a season rue and make hog head cheese...honey I tell folk dang skippy i eat pork, I'll eat the oink out of a pig....despite all the negatives things people say about that animal you can make a tasty meal out of every part
Oh my goodness Ro these pig feet look so good I like the Pig feet cut in half yes you are right because if you look through them you will not eat them😂😂
Wow!! You are a gifted, talented, and skilled cook. You prepared this so well. I definitely need to increase and boost of my cooking skills. There are so many delicious, healthy meals to prepare on here.
I’ve only had them once and it was in a restaurant. I don’t know if they were no good or what but I was sick. I cook them for a friend of mine every new years.
Heyyy Sisss Oh this remind me of my childhood and my grandmother would barbecue them sometimes and whats so crazy I never tasted them but would eat the pig ears..Great video
Thank you so much for watching 😊 I remember my grandmother cooking pig ears and I didn’t want to eat them because I knew that they were ears. I don’t remember her cooking pig feet, but I’m sure that she did. Most of the time, she just gave us our food in a bowl and told us to eat. 😊 My husband loves bbq pigs feet.
I like pig feet even though I haven't had them in over 20 years. Mainly because I always had nightmares after I ate them. But I bought some and I'm watching videos on how to cook them so we shall see what happens tomorrow night lol. Thanks for posting. I'm a first time viewer.
Thank you so much for watching Sis. I didn’t like the texture when I first started eating them, but after I chomped into them 😝 and got past that, I like the flavor. But, I don’t eat them very often.💕
I like pigs feet very much, but I like the hock part better because, it has more meat in them. I cook them with onions, green bell peppers, celery, pepper flakes, garlic powder, salt and pepper and brown cider vinegar. ❤ ❤❤
I had them on occasion back in the 50s and 60s when my dad and grandad would let me tag along with them. When my mom found out she threw the biggest fit. I never told her again. I’m about to turn 74 and I’m ready to eat some pig’s feet again. Thank you for the recipe and explanation of it. God bless.

I've had pigs feet, but didn't like it. I did what you said though, and picked through them. I have some thawed out now, and after they are cooked I will do like you said, and try just biting into them. That is what the lady did who fixed them for me the other time.
@@BlessedRoCooks listen. I ate pig feet once in my life and that was last year when I was 36. Yesterday I clicked on your video and made them for the first time and my mother in law was impressed and so was my lady and they are experienced in the pig feet department so thank you very much! It was easy to understand and it kept my attention. I'd love to see what else you show
If you want cheap pigs' feet, move to New Jersey. They are the cheapest thing there is. I just bought pigs' feet because they were the most inexpensive thing I saw. Seems like they've done the same thing down south, where I am from, that they have done to chicken wings. I grew up eating wings, and they were not expensive. Now, at least in NJ, chicken wings are just about a delicacy. But pigs' feet? The least expensive thing in the meat case.
Pigs feet are very popular around here… I grew up eating chicken wings too. When I grew up the drumsticks were more popular than the wings. But, since the Buffalo Wing phenomenon, chicken wings are very expensive here too. Thanks for watching .😊

Ok..🤔
They most certainly did, But those were hard times! Now we should know better than to consume that poison.
