Quick Tip: When cooking any meats do not put in alot of water like you did....put in a lil and Let it cook for about 15mins before you add water. That gives times for the seasonings to marinate in the meat while producing its own stock
Oh yes, wunderbar! I was born in Mississippi, raised and schooled in Tennessee, been around the world, and now in Houston, Texas. I've enjoyed this and similar foods all my 72 years. I left home at 15 so, being single, I taught myself to cook everything I ate. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you Phillyboyjay , It's been about 40 year's since our mother made boiled pig's feet. My brother just celebrated his 76th Birthday and was talking about how he missed our mother's cooking. So for his Birthday supper i made your recipe, it was the Best , brought back many memories. Thank you again! Eill ne doing more of your recipes.
These pigs feet would be good with steamed rice. My mother and I used to do a lot of pigs feet but they were straight up pickled. I was a weird kid. My favorite snacks were pickled pigs feet, pickled herring, sour kraut and I'd pick and eat wild onions all day. Crystal is a good vinegar based hot sauce. One of my favs.
My grandmother & mother would par-boil the pigs feet in white vinegar 1st to remove as much fat as possible. It's a lot better for ppl with blood pressure issues. They did it for pork ribs & chitterlings also. Gd luck PBJ.
Wow! I follow your recipe to the letter, and made the very best pig’s feet I’ve ever made. In fact, they were the very best pig’s feet I’ve ever tasted, period. Thank you to you for posting it, and to your Grandmother for showing you how. Yum!

After seeing that video I had to see what else you had on your channel and I was very impressed. I immediately subscribed, and clicked on the notification bell so that I can see all your videos
Hey My Brother from another Mother 😉 I made these for the New Year with blackeyed peas, hot water cornbread, cabbage with, carrots, squash, okra, corn, green tomatoes and dressing with your peach cobbler and U, know I put the vanilla ice cream & reddi whip on it🤣😂....LUV U BOO😘 HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !! 🎊🎉
Delicious recipe even without all the ingredients. I omitted the celery and bell pepper then added more vinegar. Thanks for sharing this awesome recipe.
Hey, PhillyBoyJay. I don't know how I got into the habit of watching the best, I said THE BEST recipe videos on TH-cam......at 3am!!! But here I am again. 🤗 I'm not a huge fan of pigs feet, but everyone else in my family loves them. So when I follow your recipe (to a T because we also like spicy), I can still be one of the superstar cooks in the family! I admit, with those red and green peppers and paprika and crushed red peppers, those do look good, I might even try half of one. This would also be a great slow-cooker/crockpot recipe; you're simmering for 3½-4 hours on stove top, so this recipe could go straight into the crockpot and cook 4-6 have hours on high. I love using my crockpots. Did you know almost any recipe can be made into a crockpot recipe!?!?!
Good protein is pork? I am scared to think what you call a bad protein(lima beans?)? As far as I know, this is pseudoscience... "called collagen, helps prevent wrinkles, and joint pain" Eating lots of pork skin, fat and connective tissue does not relieve pain nor does it make you more attractive. Have you been to Puerto Rico, they have just about every race under the sun and I would not want to look like that. haha I do love soup made from pigs feet and chicken feet. Also, pork rinds are a low carb high protein replacement for potato chips, and better with hot sauce! Barbra, don't feel bad my mother makes up total lies that she thinks are true all the time too.
Hello... medical student here... collagen is a protein comprised of amino acids... it is not, itself, an amino acid. Lol. As for those claims, no legitimate, peer reviewed studies exist that support your claims. Lol again.
Really enjoy and learn a lot from your cooking episodes....follow you and have made quite a few of your recipes and they have all proven to be delicious!!! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful recipes!
Hi just wanted to say thank you for this recipe!! I don't eat pig feet but my son does and he was on his way home from school at UNM and he asked me to make him some so I looked to you and he loved them!! I did add Creole seasoning and a jalapeño pepper cause he love spicy!! I even tasted them and they were good, its just a texture thing for me lol. Thank you he ate the whole pot in a day in a half, smh.
I tried this recipe and if this ain't some gourmet ass pigs feet recipe? Absolutely delicious! I want to know those other ways you cook them as well. I love your red beans and rice too. I'm a huge fan.
I never ate pig feet. I thought they were uneatable. After watching your video, I wanted to try them. I must say I will be cooking them, not to often for health reasons. They had me licking my fingers. They were truly the BEST!!! Love your video, I looking to you for more recipes for things to eat from a different prospective. I made you meat loaf, baked turkey wings. the trick making a slurry taught this old lady something. All your food is the BEST!!!!
A friend of mine just shared your channel with me today. I got off work at 5pm and headed straight to the store. Let's just say pig feet and pigtails are on the stove at 7pm and will be ready at 10pm.
My elderly neighbor asked me to cook him some. Never made them before because I don't eat them. I have them cooking right now. And I might even try them...they smell and look great!
Cooking some right now. That's why I looked up this video it's 1a.m. and I been having two packs in my deep freezer. I been craving feet for almost 3 mons. And tonight's the night. But you really don't season feet until an hour of boiling, if you will only cook em for 2 hours. That's usually all it takes. Some people go 3 hours. But that's too much in my book. Some also dump water out a few times, but this is not really needed when the feet are washed really good, and all the fat and foam have been skimmed off @ least 3 times. But everybody cooks different. I think pouring the water out, so many times diminishes all that good flavor. Later guys I got feet to go eat. I like mine simply with slices of bread. Now if you want a meal fit for royalty, serve some smothered cabbage and rice and cornbread on the side. This is a meal I would request on death-row.
Ummm, mouth watering. It looks very delicious. I will try to cook this later tonight and will follow your instruction. From the video I could tell it is very tasty as the meat is so tender. Thank you for sharing this with us. God bless us all.
Thanks. Your instructions/recipe are the best, bar none of the high powered others. Hope they watch you and learn a good thing. Grew up with Mexican "patitas de cerdo." One minor difference would be a small bay leaf. Will try your way too.
Being from the South, pigs feet was a regular meal on our table. As a little girl, I knew one day I would have a choice in the matter. When I grow up That will never be my food of choice. I don't care how you add to your receipts to present them better, I just can't see the beauty in them. Sorry guys, I'm just saying. Hope you guys enjoy.
Thanks I thought your gravy was gonna be thick but looks good. I will try some of the seasoning and bell peppers. I use every thing else. Good eats thanks you.
I did pigs feet and hoppin John on New Year's day using your recipe for the trotters. MAN!!! You put your trotter in those bad boys! The addition of the Worchesire sauce was a great touch which added a good flavor. My mom usued to do trotters and hoppin john in a stove top pressure cooker bacl in the 60's. Your recipe reminded me of those good old days, bless your heart.

Animal fat is not the cause of high blood pressure.
Because of my high blood pressure and cholesterol, I can't eat much of this anymore but I still like to watch people cook those "Trotters"!
