Thank u sooo much! Idk how much $$$ I saved doing it myself but I got a lot of compliments while working on it in the grocery store parking lot as I am a woman!! Lol thanks again!
My 08 Avenger just fired right up. Very good video. I would have thought needed to take the intake off so glad starter came out pretty easy out the side. This job isn’t that bad at all. Just go slow and steady and keep with this vid. My 08 starter connections and air box intake slightly different but the point comes across. Take it out. A zillion tanks yous for creating this and saving me lots of $$$
Probably had to watch this 50 times and it took me around 5 hours with breaks 😂 but now My 08 avenger is running like i just bought it off the lot thank you for you knowledge it is definitely power.
Me reading your comment before watching the video: 50? 5 hours? can't be that bad. Me after watching the video: this is imposible I can't do this 💀☠ lmfao😂😂.
This is an amazing video! Saved me some $ for sure! You will need various sizes of sockets and wrenches, all of which are metric. Have fun and if you have a little one let them help you and teach them how to work on things vs throwing them away. They will have a blast!!!
This video is an EXCELLENT guide. The hardest part by FAR is getting the dam thing back in. Getting it out sucked, too. Just remember that it can be done but it's not easy. There's very little room under there. The rest of the stuff wasn't too bad. I am not mechanically inclined at all, either. I only mess with auto stuff if it's broken. Guess what? My car still won't start lol. So back to square 1 we go!
@@MidwestMoney did you find the problem yet im about to work on the starter I've bought a new alternator, terminals and brand new battery and still no power im hoping replacing the starter starts it up
@@jasontodd6148 Yes I did, and it's the dumbest most embarrassing thing ever. I bought a positive sized battery clamp for both the positive and the negative posts on my Optima battery. The posts are DIFFERENT sizes! The negative is slightly smaller. Because of this I didn't have a good fit on the negative post. I swapped it out and haven't had a problem since. Yes, I am stupid.
Eh, pretty much looks like my 2010 2.4L Avenger. I am getting recently some clicking when I turn the key. Replaced the battery, not the problem. Thinking its the starter solenoid so I plan on replacing the starter. Local mechanic said the intake had to come off and it seemed a little weird. I think I can do this. And no, its not a relay. The clicking is coming from around the starter. Got 162k miles, so if I'm wrong, no problem. Just preventative maintenance.

Good for you!!!

Shouldn’t take that long, it’s up top under the air filter housing
Same! Took me a while cause I don’t know shot about car but I make it work. Thanks boss!
It took me just 40 minutes glad I got it 😁

Great vid got the job done thanks 🙏 . Took me an hour and a half with your vid.
This was actually a really solid video out of all of the ones I watched. I'm trying to fix my car 08 avenger myself so let's see if I can do it.

hey man, great vid!! I didn't know where to start, Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Great tutorial for this repair , Hayes gets high marks
Will the same steps apply to a 2008 V6 3.5L ?
Wow you made that look EASY !!! Great Video !!! Thanks for posting !!!
Great tutorial!!!😊
Awesome. The only thing missing are the nut and bolt sizes.
I think it’s intentional so that you have to buy their manual in order to get all the details.
I like how you explain everything with a calm voice. Now I'm a certified mechanic! jk
Did you remove the screws to starter if do you didn't show this. I got all undone started not coming out
At the 2:00 minute mark he says to remove the starter bolts.
Thank you verry good video
My 08 avenger does not look the same, im assuming this isnt a 3.5L
2.4 L

@@Theywaswrong same exact thing
Shops remove the intake because it’s easier access & more labor time , so that’s more money in their pockets .
How many centers does2008 Dodge avengers have
censors
Sensors?
How long of a job is this usually?
1 hour
Thanks 🫡
Never said what size motor
Good job
This is not for a 3.5l and really lacks in removal information. It's why I don't buy their manuals, they leave important things out.
This tells you everything you need to know
The manual includes the 3.5 instructions
I bet I can do this. ( doesn’t own tools) 😂
So much more difficult than shown, and near the end, the starter can't be pulled out as shown. Not helpful at all
All this for a stupid part that could be have been designed to be easier to find! What dogshit! Horrible design
Would it kill you to say what tool and what size socket your using as you do it? Or list the tools needed? Dying over here man
