- HOW DO YOU INCREASE YOUR FERRITIN LEVELS?
first you need to understand how much iron you need on a daily basis, so that you can understand how much iron you need to bank iron as ferritin, because ferritin is your iron storage protein it's basically your iron savings account so if you are a man or a non menstruating female.
Then you should be taking approximately 30mg of iron per day, and that will allow you over time to move about 10 ferritin points per month so if your ferritin is 30 today by tripling your daily requirement it should be in a month from now approximately.40 and we wanna get you to at least 17 anagrams per milliliter, if you are a menstruating female, then you probably are going to require more like 90mg, per day to actually bank ferritin, and overtime and always retest your ferret and level after 90 days or discontinue.

Thank you Doctor, you provide us with very important information without a fee, and generously ❤thank you
Thank you for all the information you provide. I’m having an abundance of new growth within a month of using the DHT blocker and I recently purchased the Folligrowth vitamins. 🎉❤🎉
Wonderful!

I checked my Ferritin on June 26 and I was at 33. I had it rechecked on August 20th and it was 55. I won't check again until the end of Oct. I am praying for it to be above 70.
Which form of iron supplement and what dosage do you take?
Bro which supplement you are taking please reply

Doctor this is wonderful information. My ferritin came back at 11 after supplementing for a couple of months. But my iron showed high. I assume this is normal when you supplement. If anyone reading could tell me if this is addressed on another video it would be great. I’ve been a vegetarian since 1999 so I think maybe this is what caused my iron issue.
Yes, that could definitely be the cause. Perhaps add some high quality red meat to your diet. Calf liver would be great too. I think you will feel amazing!
My ferritin is at 6 ng according to a recent blood test. Likely due to being a long term vegetarian, and very heavy menstrual bleeding my whole adult life. I have crippling insomnia. Do you think this could be contributing? Do you recommend the supplement floradix? Thank you.
You need to see a doctor, floradix does not contain enough iron I think. I was prescribed 250mg of ferrous sulphate (UK based) to take twice a day. I’m also vegetarian and have heavy periods like yourself. Hope things get better for you.
I have heavy periods it took nearly 3 decades for me to be diagnosed with adenomyosis.
As a result I have had anaemia lots of times.
I am UK based and until I was diagnosed used to have to fight to get iron tests. In the end I have ended up getting private ones.
In regards to iron over the counter supplements don't have enough iron in them. They only have around 14mg. So you need to be prescribed it. However I found the pharmacists will give them to you off prescription as it's cheaper for both parties however they don't bigger this unless you come with a prescription.
Doctors never retest you unless you collapse. They just say take them for 3 months.
The supplements they prescribe tend to cause stomach upsets.
Oh and iron deficiency can cause insomnia.
What kind of iron is safe for the stomach

Yes. Split doses.
there's a pretty good iron supplement by thorne. it's got 36 mg of iron along with folate and b12. just take 3 a day.

Same. 🥴
Hey! Soooo my ferritin is a 7. It was a 11 last year - besides pills. What else can you tell us that would help? Like specifically lol I know diet and all. I thought I was doing great in diet. I take the usual stress, I have 2 toddlers and expecting now with #3… ya I’m really nervous now what to except in this stage of my life and near future!
Make sure you are taking B vitamins.
B vitamins are water soluble so unless you have issues with your kidneys you should excrete the excess. B vitamins like folate help with the formation of blood cells. (You need all of them.)
Like with iron you can have enough of all measurable B vitamins but it may not be optimal.
Sir my iron feritin is 21.6 in pregnancy is it norml??
So does the average guy take a iron pill daily? The lowest I have seem Is 150 ..would like to take one daily but I think that a little high?
I was taking 65mg plus cooking in cast iron and only rose 13 points in 3 months. :( started taking 255 mg per day and reincorporated red meat so we will see how it goes. I breastfeed and have a period so those are my root causes I think. I want to get rid of my period. I keep reading that iron causes oxidative stress and raises cholesterol so I’m a bit scared of that as well. :/
Any updates?
you're taking the wrong iron most likely. this was my mistake. ferrous sulfate is the worst to take. make sure you take something like blood builder or look for a heme iron supplement. ferrous sulfate is non heme.

My ferritin is 17 but my total iron is 170. I don’t get it. How can my iron be higher than normal range and ferritin low? TIBC is also in the high end of normal.
Yes how? To fix this i am the same
My ferritin is 11 ng/mL how long should I take supplements
With a ferritin level of 11 ng/mL, it’s important to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the right amount and type of iron supplementation for your specific needs. Typically, increasing ferritin levels might involve taking iron supplements under medical guidance and periodically retesting your levels to monitor progress. The goal is to reach a healthy level while ensuring you do not exceed what is safe, as excess iron can be harmful.

Do you have hairfall issues?
Dumb doubt but menstruating female while menstruating or pre menopausal
It's the same you are still loosing blood every month when you are pre menopausal
Guys just make sure u do NOT over do ur iron supplements. I made that mistake one time and I almost had to go to the ER due to a bowel movement that rivaled giving birth. Please be cautious.
It was the most painful thing I’ve gone thru 😢
Hello! That sounds horrible! So sorry to hear about your experience! Yeah, iron supplements can really mess with you if you take too much. That's why we always recommend closely monitoring by getting iron levels retested every 1-3 months. Hope you're okay now.

Yeah, thats bad. Start taking iron bisglyicinate asap
My ferritin level is 220 but my haemoglobin is 8…how is that possible?
That’s an interesting situation! Ferritin and hemoglobin are both connected to iron in the body, but they represent different things, and it's possible for them to be imbalanced. Here's a breakdown of how this can happen:
🔬 **Ferritin**: Ferritin is a protein that stores iron in your body, so a ferritin level of 220 suggests that you have plenty of iron stored.
🩸 **Hemoglobin**: Hemoglobin is a protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen throughout your body. A low hemoglobin level (like your level of 8, which is quite low) indicates **anemia**, which means your red blood cells aren't functioning properly, or your body isn't producing enough of them.
Here are some reasons why this imbalance can occur:
1. **Chronic Inflammation or Infection**: Conditions like chronic inflammation (e.g., autoimmune disorders or infections) can cause **high ferritin** because your body stores extra iron, but your body may not be using that iron effectively to make hemoglobin. This is known as **anemia of chronic disease**.
2. **Iron Utilization Problem**: Even though you have iron stored (high ferritin), your body might not be able to properly utilize it to produce hemoglobin. This could be due to certain conditions that affect iron metabolism or absorption.
3. **Other Types of Anemia**: You could be dealing with another form of anemia not directly related to iron, such as **vitamin B12** or **folate deficiency**, which can impair the production of healthy red blood cells. This could lead to low hemoglobin levels despite adequate iron stores.
4. **Liver or Kidney Issues**: High ferritin can sometimes be related to liver conditions, and if there's an issue with your kidneys, it can affect erythropoietin production, which is essential for red blood cell production, leading to low hemoglobin.
💡 **What to do**: This imbalance should definitely be evaluated by a doctor. They may run additional tests to check for underlying inflammation, vitamin deficiencies, or other conditions that could be affecting your red blood cell production.

my ferritin is at 4 and hb is normal. how much iron i need
What is hb ?
Wow, I thought that being a non menstruating female meant you didn't need iron at all. Is that wrong? If so, good to know! Thank you Dr Gaunitz
tysm!
My level is 11 and 44 years old / female.
omg my current level is 7 this is gonna be a long way
Meanwhile I’m about to have blood drawn to reduce iron. The carnivore diet has been good to me.
my level is 6...how bad is that
So I need to take 90mg of iron per day? Wouldn't you overdose on 90mg of iron? It says you shouldn't exceed 45mg of iron if you google it.
He means to build up your ferritin bank stores. And to get tested in a few months the level
That’s if your low and need to raise it. Not if you’re fine and supplementing daily. Then you need 18mg
My ferritin came in at 22.
Will start taking iron tables from today twice a day. I believe the tablet is 210mg.
What are your symptoms ?
@@Skybluewindcool Poor training, fatigueness, heavy breathing at times and restless legs syndrome. Honestly speaking right now these symptoms have fair bit stabilised after taking iron supplement daily.
@@Skybluewindcool Ideally I wish to be around 80.

What iron supplement do you recommend to increase ferritin levels?
Hi there! We recommend the derma iron www.advancedtrichology.com/products/derma-iron. You may call us at 480-222-4247 or email support@advancedtrichology.com for dosage instructions - MJ - William’s Assistant Trichologist
Every other day my man
my ferritin level is 4.4ng
I am pregnant and i have 18
so it differs for men and women. What if I am non-binary? What do you recommend?
if you bleed, there's a difference. biology, not identity.
LOL
My ferritin level is 2 😐
So is the natural state of any human being, women in particular, just to have low iron levels? Cause there is no way a member of our species could take in that much iron without artificial supplements.
Mine is 8 😒😪
Or you could eat red meat?
Absolutely! 🍖 Red meat is a fantastic source of iron, especially the heme iron type, which is more easily absorbed by our bodies than plant-based iron. Increasing red meat intake (if it aligns with your dietary preferences and health needs) can help boost ferritin levels, which is essential for hair health and reducing shedding.
Just keep in mind:
1️⃣ **Moderation is Key**: Aim for a balanced intake of red meat along with other iron-rich foods (like leafy greens, beans, and fortified grains) to avoid overdoing it.
2️⃣ **Pair with Vitamin C**: To enhance iron absorption, pair iron-rich foods with vitamin C sources (like citrus fruits or bell peppers).
If low ferritin is contributing to hair loss, consistently supporting it through diet can make a big difference over time. 😊
