Oh my gosh, this must be about the best video of this exceptionally fine mountain in recorded history. I first climbed it in 1974 (naively by the dinner time buttress) and remember almost every step and the thrill of the view from the summit. These fine mountains really do stick in the memory.
You are a natural narrator Charlie great to see you and your brother presenting your days time and time again. Thoroughly enjoy watching your videos. Bidean Nam Bian is one of Scotland’s finest for sure. In winter it is as Alpine an environment as you will find anywhere. An absolute giant of a glencoe. Fantastic
Hi AC, Hope you are well. Many thanks for your kind comments and I agree Biden is certainly up there with Scotlands classics and a challenge for a few when in full winter condition. Cheers, Charlie
又是你啊!我前不久看了你的视频“Aonach Eagach, Glencoe 20:07:21”,非常喜欢。既有登山运动,又有美景欣赏。而且,你总是运气好,天气眷顾你。我在glencoe徒步时就遇到了大雨。It's you again! I watched your video "Aonach Eagach, Glencoe 20:07:21" the other day and like it very much. There is both mountaineering and beautiful scenery. Also, you always get lucky. The weather is on your side. I was hiking in Glencoe when it rained heavily.
Hi Ian, Snap.... I've recently changed TV and now use it for any new uploads and it's certainly a better viewing experience. Happy days.. Cheers, Charlie.
Hi Charlie, this video inspired me to go and do this climb which I did yesterday so thanks for the upload. Didn't quite get the weather you had but even so, this place is outstandingly beautiful. I only managed to make it to the ridge as Bidean Nam Bian's peak was covered in cloud - a lot of people will watch this and think the ascent from the Hidden Valley to the ridge is easy when it's actually quite challenging and the path becomes quite vague at points - be warned !
Hello, Really glad you were inspired to get out and enjoyed the hidden valley. Glencoe is simply a magic place with some classic walking. Many thanks.... Cheers
@@charliemccartney7055 I'm staying up that way at the end of the week Charlie , Bidean is on my radar . I've been up 3 times before but the Mrs will be coming this time , so first for her . Its a terrific mountain , one of the best . Good to see you and Mike having a couple of breaks this time to soak in the views 😁Cheers 👍
So glad I found this channel. Loads of videos to watch and a relaxed calm video maker who doesn’t rely on loud music and flashy graphics etc. Letting the mountains speak for themselves 🎉 kudos Charlie. New subscriber.
Hi Ross, Glad that you are a new subscriber and that you enjoy our uploads. You're right about the content of our videos as they are intentionally all about the walk and the mountains. Music and flashy graphics just don't fit in the mountains when a big part of the experience is the sounds of the day. Many thanks, Cheers
Hi Bob, If only...... the weather conditions just seem the favour them at the moment. I'm sure it will be pay back some time soon and the murk will return... lol. Cheers, Charlie.
I'm an aged, not overly experienced hillwalker, so don't have the breadth of choice of others, but this is my favourite walk so far, although done in reverse to you. Brought back good memories.
Hi John, What a great walk to get under your belt. Glencoe is just magic when the weather is settled. Oddly enough we passed other ten walkers through the day and we were the only ones doing clockwise route.... Cheers, Charlie.
Hi Kev, You'll know just how nice the day was for getting onto the tops, its just a joy when its like this. Hope this spell continues for a bit yet, Cheers, Charlie.
Fantastic conditions and beautiful vistas. I love seeing a bit of cloud in the sky, it just helps to make the view look even more spectacular, just as long as it’s not round the summit I’m on at the time!
Hi Guy's, A bit of cloud and mist at lower level certainly adds atmosphere to the photos and is generally better than clear blue sky. It's just great being on the tops in these conditions. Cheers, Charlie.
Excellent video, Charlie! It brought me back to 2007 when I hiked that route during an exchange (I was in the US Air Force) with the RAF Regiment…51 Squadron. They brought the three of us “Yanks” out and we had a great time! Thanks for sharing your journey!
Hi Jay, Great that our movie gave you a memory blast from 2007. It’s just a magic place to capture the Scottish mountain experience. Many thanks for watching. Cheers, Charlie.
Yet another excellent video, Charlie! My partner and I climbed this magnificent mountain back in August 1995, the exact same route as you took, but on a crystal clear day. We could see all the way across to Skye, Mull and then up to the mountains of Assynt, and across to Perthshire. The clearest view I have ever enjoyed from a mountain top. I have now bought a 4K Smart TV, so I can watch your videos in all their glory! Thanks for posting! :-)
Hi Rosa, Snap, I've also changed our TV recently for a 4k version and it's great to enjoy the movies on a bigger screen. You certainly had a super day by the sounds of things and Glencoe in that sort of condition takes a lot of beating. It's always more appealing when the mountains have a sea view. Take care, Charlie.
Hi Paul, Fingers crossed this settled spell rolls into the Autumn and we get the opportunity to get a few tops before the light starts to go. Cheers, Charlie.
Hi Charlie good to see you both back doing what you like doing best, fantastic video and commentary glen coe and Scotland at its very best keep them coming well done 👏look forward to your next video
What a stunning video with such superb views - fantastic Charlie! Such great weather! The last time I‘ve been there on June 1st 2019 we‘ve had such heavy rain and very poor views that we had to cancel the hike a bit above The Lost Valley. Hiking back to the car park it was very difficult to cross the stream below the Lost Valley because it had gained so much water as we were trying to hike Bidean Nan Bian. Good to see how this hike can be in good weather :-)
Hi Wolfgang, It's surprising how quickly we forget just how poor the weather can be in areas like Glencoe. I've had many soakings and its makes days like we experienced even more special when they come around. Take care, Charlie.
Amazing Charlie! Reminded me of my favourite trip of last year! What amazing weather and views eh! That low cloud sets the whole scene....brilliant! Cheers Paul
Hi Paul, Your right, the conditions are terrific at the moment for some stunning scenery, especially with the low lying cloud hanging around well into the day. Cheers, Charlie.
