You have no idea how happy this makes me and how crazy psychic I feel like y'all are!!!! My BFF was just talking about how she can't go vegan because she would miss pho and BOOM!!!! y'all come out with this!!!! Love. It!!!!!!
i have dreamt of finding a vietnamese vegan youtube channel for so long. I AM SO HAPPY. i love this recipe!! i'm going to try to make it when california cools down a little bit. :)
AH! Okay I used to just get the regular one because the ingredients looked vegan, but then I was like WHY is there a vegetarian one and a regular one?! So I got too paranoid.
You totally demystified pho for me! I have most of the stuff but could t bring myself to do it because I've never actually had pho so trying to veganize it seemed like a challenge. Thank you!
Vegan is very healthy and happy. I have been vegan for 50 years. I have not seen a doctor at all. I hope that foreign friends will come to Taiwan to eat vegan. I wish you vegan health and happiness. Any wish and good wish can be achieved.
Omg I need this in my life! I haven't had good pho since I went vegan. I went to a local restaurant and they had spaghetti as the pasta... I was so disappointed but you have made my day! Thank you!
We went to Vietnam and went to a small but beautiful restaurant which served only vegetarian pho. They called it "rao pho" and guys it was amazing ! Also got so much love and respect from Vietnamese brothers and sisters! You guys are awesome ! Love from India.
You got us drooling thinking about pho again! It's one of the best noodle soup we've ever made. 😋 We'll have to try your version with the additional spices and the mushroom seasoning. Sounds gorgeous! Nice to have some background info on pho too. 😃
Yeah, I meant the cassia bark and the black cardamom are the ones that I haven't tried before, in Pho i.e. I've used cinnamon, star anise and cloves...Teenuja
I have made Pho before. I did it the traditional way and it did take a long time to make the broth. This kills the time and so happy i found this bcuz I love Pho and im embracing vegan cuisine more. Thank you so much
Perfect for cold Colorado winters after a long day working in the cold! Easy too, just leave it for a while and it’s done. Thank you so much for sharing!
I love pho, especially with raw thinly sliced onion as a topping. I hope you do more videos together in the future ! You should do a Korean feast next time.
as a clarification: try not to get the green cardamom guys, the one Lisa's using is BLACK cardamom, which has a completely different taste profile (but hey, use what ya got if all you have is green)
Lisa, you really have that ”nerve” for cooking. That ”eye meausure magic”. You know what makes food food! Pho is so nice and it’s nice to know the process behind it! :) Yay, going to watch Roses video too! :)
A great way to add even more aroma from the spices is to dry roast them and then add them to the broth. I'm thinking if you can do like a dau phu ran la lot or sth like that, I'm sure it would be awesome! As a fellow Viet I'm glad I found your channel ❤️
Oh my gosh!!!! I love the whole Sailor Moon Funko Pop ser in the back! Also, thanks for the video. We love eating pho and I have recently been transitioning to more plant based/vegan friendly eatinf
Oh my god! Thank you for showing me how to use the granulated mushroom powder AGAIN! friggin life saver. I love Asian grocery markets! So many amazing products!
I’m Vietnamese and didn’t even expect to boom into a vegan vietnamese TH-camr, like, everywhere 😭 (the original recipes with meat make too much hypes that no one has the courage to change it). Will be bingo watching all your videos today, also, could you pls recommend other vegan Vietnamese TH-camrs or blogs 😆💚 Much love from Germany 🇩🇪
How are we just coming across your channel now?? A Vegan Vietnamese :))) All we get is questions of "why are you living in Vietnam and eating vegan" Just found our first restaurant here serving Vegan Pho (Danang) I think yours looks a wee bit tastier! Great vid!
I don't why I thought you dyed your hair and then out of no where went back to black but in my mind I knew I was kinda crazy because I thought that had to be that little angel ro ro, I like to call her. I love you both oh so gosh darn much. I didn't have my glasses on. Love you both, you're both so chill and fun.
Came here thanks to CLV - I LOVE VIETNAMESE FOOD! Thanks for doing this recipe, I've never cooked Pho before but there's a place just 3 blocks away from my place that I go to all the time. After watching this video I just decided that I WONT COOK IT MYSELF lol. But it makes me appreciate my pho place more haha.
Hahah yeah this has been a long time coming XD I have more Viet recipes on my blog too if you want to check those out. I've been blogging for 7 years but only on TH-cam for about 18 months so there are way more recipes on my blog =P
Hi! I just decided to go plant-based after watching a couple documentaries (What the Health & Game Changer). I'm also in the middle of Forks over Knives. I'm glad I was able to find all the ingredients in my local Asian market here. Going to be cooking this for my family! First time pho everything ;)
this looks so good. i haven't tried making my own, because of how time consuming it is, and there's a place near me that has a vegan pho which is pretty damn good. but, this recipe def looks doable, so gonna try my hand at it!
Hi! Totally new to your channel and I have been craving Pho since i went vegan. Im definitely trying this out once it isnt hot anymore! Hopefully I can get my non-vegan husband to eat it!!
dear god that looks awesome i wish i could just purchase it other hand doesnt seem to expensive to make i would bulk cook that shiiiit!! nice and thank you lol
Dry shiitake mushroom: if you eat them, buy the expensive ones, they taste much better. And don't cook them in the broth too long because it tends to make broth bitter; maybe soak them with water first then boil them only 1/2 hour, before cut them in slices.
Darn! I came here hoping it would be nice to make this at home. I'm gonna happily keep giving the Vietnamese restaurant my money for their awesome pho and also be a bit more grateful then I already am, at the effort they put into making it for me 😉
Yeah! I love it! They've had some bumps in the road when it comes to understanding what products are vegan vs vegetarian but I think it's so great they switched to fully vegetarian :)
You have no idea how happy this makes me and how crazy psychic I feel like y'all are!!!! My BFF was just talking about how she can't go vegan because she would miss pho and BOOM!!!! y'all come out with this!!!!
Love. It!!!!!!
Omg I seriously need to make this. It was SO BOMB. Thanks for teaching me your ways 😁❤️
Thank you for spending that LONG ASS DAY with me making all this food XD We had way less energy in this video than your bao one bahahhaha
hi how can i make this recipe oil free too?? can i just leave out the oil and follow the recipe??
annupamaa krishnaswami yes!
Love the sailor moons in the background 😍
This recipe has given me some good idea about spices that I can add when I cook some noodles for myself. Thanks
i have dreamt of finding a vietnamese vegan youtube channel for so long. I AM SO HAPPY. i love this recipe!! i'm going to try to make it when california cools down a little bit. :)
YAY!!!!!! I AM TRYING THIS!
Also, the regular hoisin from that brand is vegan too. The 'vegetarian' version just omits garlic and onion, I think.
AH! Okay I used to just get the regular one because the ingredients looked vegan, but then I was like WHY is there a vegetarian one and a regular one?! So I got too paranoid.
I'd love to see you connect irl for a vid/meetup/colab with these 2 girls Mary! i love you all
good to know! i have the regular, and wasn't entirely sure!
me too!!!
Yaaay! good to know
Thank you
You totally demystified pho for me! I have most of the stuff but could t bring myself to do it because I've never actually had pho so trying to veganize it seemed like a challenge. Thank you!
Yeah! It's just time consuming, not difficult XD
this is so much better than trying to figure out how to veganize a non-vegan recipe. great and really fun video!
I just like that you ladies are inspiring younger people to cook. Looks delicious. Keep it up!
Vegan is very healthy and happy. I have been vegan for 50 years. I have not seen a doctor at all. I hope that foreign friends will come to Taiwan to eat vegan. I wish you vegan health and happiness. Any wish and good wish can be achieved.

lmaoooo spaghetti noodles?! omg

The spices are what make pho taste like pho! :) Thanks Teenuja & Kevin :)

Yes Rose and I thought we'd do two Korean recipes the next time we find ourselves in the same place again hahaha.
as a clarification: try not to get the green cardamom guys, the one Lisa's using is BLACK cardamom, which has a completely different taste profile (but hey, use what ya got if all you have is green)

This looks so legit and delicious! I would definitely try this recipe over the others
So many spices in the broth!! Looks incredible.
Subscribed! Thanks, Rose, for introducing your audience to this channel!
My girlfriend's sister is vegetarian and we're making a dinner for them this weekend. This vegan pho is PERFECT!! thank you! 🤘
What's really great about this recipe is once you buy all the dry spices you can make this over and over.
Lisa, you really have that ”nerve” for cooking. That ”eye meausure magic”. You know what makes food food!
Pho is so nice and it’s nice to know the process behind it! :) Yay, going to watch Roses video too! :)

Love you both and I've been subscribed to both of your channels. I was looking for a good vegan pho recipe and this is the bomb!
I don't why I thought you dyed your hair and then out of no where went back to black but in my mind I knew I was kinda crazy because I thought that had to be that little angel ro ro, I like to call her. I love you both oh so gosh darn much.

I have a recipe for vegan pho and it is so time consuming....Making yours this week. Thank you.
This was awesome. I'm going to try this! Thanks so much.
Just made this. IT'S KILLER! Highly recommend. xo from a foodie
Looks delicious ! I'll chop the discarded daikon and onion and use it in the banh bao recipe!
Not a bad idea!! It might be a little mushy though ^^;
I was literally searching your channel for vegan pho last night
Hahah yeah this has been a long time coming XD I have more Viet recipes on my blog too if you want to check those out. I've been blogging for 7 years but only on TH-cam for about 18 months so there are way more recipes on my blog =P

Mmm... I'm too lazy to make this but if you open a restaurant that serves this, I'll fly out for the opening.
i'm looking forward to giving this a try
This is making me feeling hungry! It looks really good. :)
the sailor scouts and the tuxedo mask too! don't forget them!!!
Love your videos! Some of my family just moved to H-Town (does anyone call it that?) and was wondering where they could buy Yuba. (Tofu skin)
Thanks!.
Than tan.
Definitely making this next weekend
I just love how you reused that sriracha bottle for oil. !
Fun fact peruvian food also uses casia bark a lot. we call it asian cinnamon. and is for salty foods and I really like it.
I love the chemistry between you guys!
Turned out amazing girl! Thanks!
I'm so hooked on Vietnamese food recently 🤤🤤😋 I'm excited to try this! Also heeeyyy I'm also in Toronto ✌️
Great recipe video! I love Pho and this is a wonderful alternative. Have you come across a vegan fish sauce?
Oooh yeah! I loved it
I just wish I was there oh that pho🍜 yum!
LOVE you two! Thank you!
its shitake mushroom! its so good, love it!
you can also add beef paste to season your broth after you serve yourself. it's artificial beef flavored paste so it's vegan.
Oh meh gawd! I can't wait to make this!!!!
this looks so good. i haven't tried making my own, because of how time consuming it is, and there's a place near me that has a vegan pho which is pretty damn good. but, this recipe def looks doable, so gonna try my hand at it!
Good luck! Unless Eddie begs me to do this again, I'd probably just opt to go out because #LazyAF hahaha
Hi! Totally new to your channel and I have been craving Pho since i went vegan. Im definitely trying this out once it isnt hot anymore! Hopefully I can get my non-vegan husband to eat it!!

Is this pho-real?!!! Thank you so much, can't wait to make it!!! 💞
I suppose the 'time consuming' part wouldn't be much different than spending time making a roast tho.... looks effing amazing ladies!!!
Delicious healthy food!
Lisa you're my favorite vegan!!
Love the Sailor moon miniature at the back! 😜
dear god that looks awesome i wish i could just purchase it other hand doesnt seem to expensive to make i would bulk cook that shiiiit!! nice and thank you lol

Omg! Need to try this!!!
Dry shiitake mushroom: if you eat them, buy the expensive ones, they taste much better. And don't cook them in the broth too long because it tends to make broth bitter; maybe soak them with water first then boil them only 1/2 hour, before cut them in slices.
The recipe on the blog has fennel but it wasn't mentioned in the video. Should the fennel be ommitted?
Sorry, its fennel seed, not fennel :)
Lmao I had to pause and say we use our Sriracha bottle for oil too 😂
Darn! I came here hoping it would be nice to make this at home. I'm gonna happily keep giving the Vietnamese restaurant my money for their awesome pho and also be a bit more grateful then I already am, at the effort they put into making it for me 😉
Aw sorry, I've been meaning to make a "quick pho" version but I haven't refined that yet
I'm salivating
So good!!!
You guys are awesome! Making this. Have a question though, can we use ground up spices instead?
Love it ❤️
have u been to saigon lottus? if yes what is your input?
Yeah! I love it! They've had some bumps in the road when it comes to understanding what products are vegan vs vegetarian but I think it's so great they switched to fully vegetarian :)
