Excellent review & I totally agree.
    I've owned the 718 Cayman T model & the 718 Boxster S model.
Both amazingly fantastic cars & quite probably the 2 best cars I have ever owned & driven hard. Amazing chasis with sublime handling.
    The 2ltr & 2.5ltr 4cylinder engines are a peach in every way.
Owned numerous Porsche 6 cylinder cars before & I can honestly say the 718 4cylinder Porsche's perform fantastically, feel more free reving & are better on fuel than the 6cylinder.
Amazing drivers cars for any driving enthusiast.

How would you compare 2.0 and 2.5 in real world spirited driving? Is performance gap as big as it looks on paper? I drove a 2 liter one and found it very fun on the road, but i am curious how different 2.5 is compared to it.

The performance gap is very very little.
Many Porsche traditionalists will tell you different because they've been brought up with 6cylinder Porsches.
I will tell you how it is having owned both & used back to back, including hard spirited driving.

Im in love with the cayman T because it's a great way to jump into the more "hardcore" porsche lineup for a reasonable price. I hope it to be my first sports car someday.

@@xAdi420 Me too. I think they’re seriously underrated. I just wish more bought them so there’d be more in the used market for me in a few years.

No one should compare this car negatively to a 6 cylinder version like my previous 987 without driving it. There is no comparison. Sure it doesn't have the same sound but that great sound is more at the upper range. But there's more to driving than listening to the exhaust. My Cayman T in sport mode is incredible. Instant throttle response at low revs. The 987 was dead below 3500, this jumps with the lightest pressure and while I haven't had it above 4K yet it's only got to be better than the 987. So the sound is not there but every time I even lightly press the throttle I don't miss it. Oh and btw the 987 had a bypass exhaust that wailed above 3500.

This is a fact, the older Caymans are DOGS! Those cars are so slow to drive, its like driving a Honda Civic.

Having jumped out of a Boxster 987S into my 982 Boxster T I totally agree with everything you say Howard. Hope you're still enjoying your car.

@@chalkywhite7999 Yes thanks I certainly am. I've come to love the exhaust sound and the nasty backfires when in sport mode (always!) and the sound of the turbo under boost. The solidity of the structure and the steering are oddly high on my list of pleasures. After over 14K miles with no issues I'm looking forward to many more years. This Cayman T is the 911 I couldn't afford when I bought my 914 all those eons ago.

I like this model more than the standard one, but I don't know if maybe it is too low.Thinking about the elevated zebra crossings, or the uneven parking entrances, I'm worried about hitting the bumper spoilers everywhere. Are those shorter springs a problem for common daily use?

PDK in Porsche cayman T doesn't make sense to me, maximum driver experience would be the manual - just my opinion

LOL He said "2 liter four cylinder" engine with a straight face!!! The 718 Cayman is a flop. Nobody wants to spend $90,000 for a 4-cylinder Porsche!
Buy a Mustang GT for $50,000 and it will gap a Cayman.

Do you know the difference between a 2 seater mid-engined sports car and a muscle car? Nobody in the market for a mid-engined car is locking at a shitty driving car like a mustang
