11:55 you can get the exact steering wheel with full of buttons even including the heated feature, but many purists hate buttons on wheels. I personally also prefer GT steering wheel with just paddle shifter and nothing else. Glad my 987 3.4L Boxster S has it and it feels proper analogue with hydraulic steering wheel with tons of feel back from road and that flat six howl is addictive.

A very basic racing yellow 718 cayman in leather alcantara interior would be great . Cayman 18 inch wheels don't look great so 19 inch boxster s wheels , PDK and power steering plus would be all the options needed for me . Would be my second Porsche . Do you think any more essential options should be added ?
@@MarekDrives In my opinion, the Boxster is the one to get. If you want a sport car, buy a 911. If you get a Cayman, you'll spend your whole life explaining why you bought it ... same as the Miata experience ... ;)
I would for sure buy this (actually the GTS version) over the Boxster everyday of the week. The profile of this car is absolutely gorgeous. Having said this, it's kind of sad how Porsche tries so hard to keep this car from being it's fastest car. Engineering wise, this could easily be much faster than the rear engine 911 but they don't want to hurt the feelings of all the Porsche fanatics so Porsche works overtime restricting the Cayman's performance. Seriously lame Porsche. (On a side note, I took my 8 and 11 yr old girls down to watch the Indy cars practice today here in Toronto and we had a chance to watch the Porsche GT3s hustle around the track. One of them shook hands with the wall. YAH!!!) Love your review Marek!
kevin n Sure it may look nicer than the Boxster, but when the weather is nice, there’s nothing like an open-top sports car experience. It feels like a completely different vehicle.
@Trevor Phillips well, that's the thing. Porsche is great at making sports cars, not very good when it comes to the convertible experience. Too much turbulence IMO. Or it's just too fast for driving with the top down :)
The base Cayman is definitely not the one to get. Go for an used S or GTS instead. The 2.5 Liters Engine sounds much better. And Powerwise you really feel the difference!
I almost died laughing at the "fat biker, named Alice" part. This car, like any other Porsche does attract attention, but it seems to me that the pricepoint is too high for a car with such a horrid looking interior.
Guy drives stripped out sports car and complains about lack of phone button on steering wheel and cup holders. While valid complaints, I would complain more about the price and the horrid engine sound
@@numbereightyseven I hate when companies do that, I get it if you buy a cheap city car but when somebody asks you more than 30k for a car it needs to have basic luxuries ....

The script of the review is entertaining.
It is great car, I like it a lot. But it is too expensive, 90% of cars are more expensive then they use to be.
90% of everything is more expensive than it used to be, that's called inflation.
People make more money now too
I guess I like the 718T as I ll pick it up next week 😁
did you pick a T up?!

The bigger gas tank is about the only option you need, but the GT, or whatever it's called steering wheel, and keyless go are nice.
@@kitgerhart8749 Thanks for your advice
Talks like a robot. Combined with the non stop sarcasm and complaining in all his reviews. Great combo (sarcasm)
Yeah, it is a great combo, and so is his sarcasm.
It is noted that there are no buttons on the steering wheel !
This should be a real driving car
The last time I saw an engine rock under accel/decel. It was in a 1970 Renault
0 to 60 is slower than a 1996 chev10 cyclone
And how was the Syclone (yes, the name is spelled with an S, for reasons which elude me) in the corners?
You’re almost correct. It’s the Porsche to buy, except get the convertible Boxster version.
I know where you're coming from with this, but for me the Boxster shouts too much "look at me".

@@MarekDrives Also, the Boxster has more cabin noise, and cabin noise is the main weakness of the Cayman.
Boxster T for me - On those days for when you can hit those backroads early morning or dusk, you’ll wish you had a convertible. It’s two cars in one.

Cheap looking dashboard and door panels. I also heard they are putting in plastic oil pumps? If true, Porsche's cheapness knows no bounds.
