We visited Turtle Bay Resort in March of 2023. Our favorite place to eat is Lei Leis, the golf course restaurant. We also drove out to Ted’s Bakery. Had some good eats at Off the Lip which is lobby bar and the Beach House for our anniversary dinner. We enjoyed the photo shoot and lei making too. Took nice long walks to the east and west on nice level trails. Saw an amazing banyan tree and sea turtles and seals hanging out. We we could have stayed longer.
I drove by Turtle Bay when I visited Oahu in 2021 because I remember hearing about it in your videos and wanted to see the area in person on a day trip to the North Shore and was so glad I did! Love that you showed the renovations. I also love the flashback clip of Henry being held compared to now with baby Edith. So cute 🥰
WE lLOVE love lovvvvve Turtle Bay! It was the first place we ever stayed on our first ever trip to Hawaiian Kingdom in November 2014. We've stayed at T-Bay three more times since: February 2016, March 2022 and this past December 2022. Understanding that they have to pay for the new renovations, find it a little discouraging to always stay there now that the prices are near double what they were when we first stayed. But, I was able to secure unusually GREAT rates though for 5 nights this past early-December, at a significant fraction of their posted standard rates, but it required me to regularly check their website from between June and October prior; they eventually ticked lower and lower month to month basically. I'm always nostalgic for the old floorplan, and when I miss seeing the old set up (valet/drop off, etc.,) I'll watch Forgetting Sarah Marshall or Mike/Dave Need Wedding Dates to see the old sights!🤣🤙🏾 Can't wait to go back and stay there again, sooner than later hopefully!
I love your appreciation of Turtle Bay! Nice job snagging the low rate. We noticed that too, their prices were super high last summer but they ticked down as they couldn't fill hotel rooms (I think). You can see some of the old resort in the Full House Hawaii episode. The show starts in the lobby with the full Tanner family.
I stayed there right before they started the renovations. I tried SUP for the first time there, that did not go as well. I am looking forward to seeing what’s changed when I go back there in September. I recommended this place to my division head, when they asked me for recommendations of places to stay on Oahu.
Thanks for this one, was waiting to see your take on the renovations! (I do follow Jamie's blog, love when he surprises people at the surf school). If we get back to Oahu we will more than likely stay here.
I was there in October, it’s so nice and so relaxing. Don’t forget Lei Lie’s at the Turtle Bay clubhouse has excellent food as well. Highly recommend it!!
We were just there for spring break. Our favorite activity was the Shaka Kayak Turtle Tour in Kawela Bay. They pick you up right from the lobby. We also did the Luau at the stables and enjoyed the food and entertainment.
I got married at Turtle Bay in 2007. Is the glass wedding pavilion still there? Our reception was at the restaurant on the beach, I believe it was called Ola’s back then. We returned twice more with our son and we always have an amazing time. We’ve stay in the beach cottages twice. The last time we were there, November 2020 they were looking a bit run down, especially the lanai furniture. Did the beach cottages get renovated as well?
The wedding pavilion is still there and looks the same. I always remember the pavilion from Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I don't believe they have remodeled the beach cottages but don't quote me as I have heard mixed reviews on them from viewers. I hope you can make it back again soon with your son. It is a beautiful place to get married.
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide Was looking for some reference to the Jason Segal comedy. I only learned about this place because I was surprised that it really was filmed here. Usually, Hollywood cheats by shooting footage at a location and then doing the actual filming with the actors/actresses on a replica in a studio. Some parts of the resort were remodeled because they had plenty of extra money in the budget. I think the movie really helped "advertise" the resort so fans flocked to the place when they vacationed in Hawaii.
We are going to this resort at the end of January 2025. Is it always so windy? I fly a sub 250 gram, micro drone. Even though it's rated for gusty wind, I'll be a little concerned flying it out over the water to catch the big waves. Your video makes it look so great. I'm excited and looking forward to it.
I know, it never comes up on Spotify. I have checked settings but can't figure it out. Here you go! open.spotify.com/playlist/6wrn5AUWuIBXOpyJGuFE6F?si=0e0520f8b8194fff
Great video. Please tell me this. I have knee issues and going up and down stairs is a problem with me. Does this resort have facilities in place (elevators, ramps, golf carts etc) to help me get everywhere I might want to go? (ie: from room to restaurants, beach, pool etc..) Thanks so much, Steve S.
Aloha Steve, thanks for watching. If my memory serves me correctly, they do have ramps and elevators. The hotel (pool, beach, restaurant) has levels but ramps are available and elevators. It isn't a large hotel so I think it should work well for you. They have golf carts if you stay in the bungalows. Make sure to ask at check-in so they can go above and beyond to help.
Curious if Jordan and Erica will ever do tours themselves! That would be really cool! I'd even throw in babysitting services for both kids! hahaha. All these videos are great. If you guys are thinking about it, please plan for October! hahaha Big Mahalos!
Is it worth staying at Turtle Bay resort in November with potentially rainy weather? I am debating whether to stay in Waikiki entirely on points for our entire trip and do day trips around the island or splurge for 2-3 nights here. Love all your videos and guides!
good question. We visited in February once and it was a big storm the whole time. You can still have wonderful weather in the winter but the odds are not as good. Since it is November, I say take the chance! If the weather looks awful when you land, see if you can cancel. Hence, book it at the end of your trip. just an idea.
Hi ! I just purchased your itenerary and in your video you said that Waikiki is 70 minutes away from the Polynesian Multicultural Center, is that correct? I also was wondering if we will be safe at night? I’ve heard rumors of night marchers and we want to go to a luau! We’re coming from Washington DC btw!
Thanks for the email and comment. The Polynesian Cultural Center is 75 minutes from Waikiki without traffic. It is a safe drive. I haven’t heard of protests. There are night walkers (Hawaiian ghosts) but they stay clear of the major highways.
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide Thank you!!! The fact that you actually replied is amazing, i’ve been watching your videos nonstop all week there very entertaining & informational! I’ll besure to leave an updated comment when I go! And so the ghost are real?? Do you see them physically?!
thanks for watching!! Please let us know how your trip goes. I have never seen them but I like to hear the stories and the history. Watch this channel and you will be know where to avoid them: www.youtube.com/@MysteriesofHawaii
Hi I was watching one of your videos and you were talking snorkeling mask with RX I was wondering if you could give me the name to that place please I believe it was you guys talking about it
We stayed at Turtle Bay for the week of spring break 2 weeks ago. It was definitely beautiful but left us wanting more of the local Hawaiian experience. We visit Hawaii 2-3 times a year and normally stay in spots on the Leeward side of the island but decided to head north for this visit. I was expecting the diverse experience I normally have when I visit Oahu but Turtle Bay was definitely NOT THAT. One especially annoying point is the live music throughout the resort was contemporary/ top 40 hits. They couldn't even give us Hawaiian/local music! I love Hawaiian culture and the Hawaiian people. Turtle Bay doesn't feel like Hawaii. We will not return.
North shore is 2024, also headed to see the “lava flow” on big island, Hopefully 😊. You guys are great. Any chance you might meet up with @kimmi_swimmy fishing on the big island is something I’m dying to do. Little nervous to hold my breathe like she does, well I know I can’t. Would be cool to see one of you give it a shot. Thanks for the great videos!!

Keep up the great videos.
Very helpful! We’re staying here in a couple weeks and are so excited. Last time was Aulani but Turtle Bay seems much more chill.
It’s a lot more chill. In fact, it’s the most chill.
This place is fullof adventure , amazemen, Wonder , intrigue ,And so muc more . Its my Ancesrtral Homeland
Thanks as always for your contents. I love Turtle Bay. Looks like they did a lot of updates. May need to go back and visit there sometimes.
Thank you , loved your energy and with passion.
Thank you so much!
Excellent video! Thanks for all the research and information we”ll see you in early June 🤙🏼
We stopped at turtle bay because of you guys and it was a great spot to chill for the day and drive down north coast during sunset.
it really is a great place to chill. Kualima Cove did make our top snorkel spots on Oahu video for the snorkeling and the beach day.

Still a few locals around the pool during every visit we have! thanks for sharing!
Turtle Bay Resort is to Boldly go where no an or no one has evergone before . This is a place i plan to want to work for as a dream job
My stepsister and her “kids” live there. My nephew has worked at Turtle Bay for years.
they have a great staff of locals. the staff gives it that beach vibe

What a great place for kids and adults. I love how big Henry has gotten and this as last summer right?
It is from last summer. He really fell in love with waterslides during this stay. He got a lot bigger in the last year!
We recently went to Turtle Bay. it is such a nice hotel!
It’s a great beach vibe
Just booked 6nights for my family of 4 in February!! Hopefully pools are decently warm and the waves don’t blow us away lol

Can you recommend me one between kahala vs. turtle bay with 7 and 2 years old kids?
Turtle Bay would be best but if you want a lot of beach time during the winter than stay at Kahala

no, there are no all inclusive resorts in Hawaii. Turtle Bay's restaurants and bars are pay as you dine

Even after their remodel, you can still see a lot of locations from the movie. Apparently, people ask to stay in the bungalows that they stayed in.
