  • Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu's North Shore (Hawaii) is truly our favorite place to stay on Oahu when we visit. Not only do we love the North Shore, but the hotel itself also couldn’t be better.
    Find our review of the remodeled Turtle Bay Resort here:
    thehawaiivacationguide.com/st...
    We give a full tour of Turtle Bay Resort, our pros and cons, plus an Oahu North Shore itinerary so you can have a perfect vacation to the North Shore. We lived on Oahu for two years and the North Shore was our favorite place to spend the weekends. Staying at the Turtle Bay Resort was a long-overdue dream come true.
    Turtle Bay somehow appeals to both families and honeymooners (a tough thing to do) and has something for everyone. Henry loves running around the sprawling lawns, splashing in the pools, and watching his parents go down the waterslide.

    We absolutely ❤️❤️❤️ TB. So sad it was sold and being renovated, now it seems it’s only for the 1%. We will never be able to afford the room prices now and feel good about it. Thank goodness there are still rentals on the land.

    Wow, Turtle Bay has changed over the years! We lived in Kailua from 1995-1998, and it was not so upscale at all (like, I’m trying to be nice but it was really run down). Locals were even allowed to use the pool without staying there (we went for a wedding or something, I forget). It looks so nice now!

      It has changed owners a few times over the years. The current owners keep putting money into. They were remodeling one of the restaurants while we were there. We can't wait to go back and try some of their activities.

    Another great video. We stayed here on our honeymoon back in 2013, we were in the cottages where the filmed the sarah Marshall movie, in fact I’m sure it was THE cottage or one of the two featured, we then stayed down at Royal Hawaiian which was gorgeous. We then went to Kauai and stayed at the Koa Kea in Poipu. We were in Maui for a couple of weeks in 2018. 😍Hawaii

      That is so cool! I love that movie. You know how to do Hawaii right with that itinerary. We stayed at the Royal Hawaiian before we headed to Turtle Bay. We are planning on going back to Turtle Bay this summer as it is our favorite on Oahu. We should have better weather in August.

      The Hawaii Vacation Guide , if it was possible I would live on Maui, but it’s not practical for several reasons, mainly because I’m British and getting a green card would prob be difficult. Although I work offshore on pipelines worldwide so have a decent income. Also still have my elderly Dad to take care of as well as the in laws. Anyway we will still continue to visit as often as possible. Been there 7 times so far. Maybe 2022 we will return. Looking forward to your next video 🤙🏼

    I was there at the same time as you. I was tickled to see myself in your video. I'm the guy in the orange shirt and black genes watch your son dancing. I spent the week there and the weather got much better later on . I can't believe it was two years ago. I'm glad I went. It was a good vacation.

      I am thinking of going back soon. It depends on COVID restrictions and such. It can't be soon enough.

    Hi! Love all your video’s!
    We are from new York! We are planning for 2022. My kids will be 13, 11, and 8. We are a very active family. What months would you recommend are best? We were originally thinking feb for ten days but now second guessing because of the rain you hit! Is turtle bay good for kids my age? Would you do all ten days there? Or split up the shores?

    • @adventuresinspired
      @adventuresinspired 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kristin, you and your kids will love anywhere in Hawaii. I am sure the Hawaii Vacation Guide would agree to split it up - North Shore (and especially Turtle Bay) is phenomenal but so is the whole island. February is gorgeous and yes there is a risk of rain but it usually passes, and the waves and whales are amazing that time of year. If you time it well there may be a surf championship on the North Shore as it is usually in Feb, amazing to watch. Enjoy!!

    Hi, I've been watching all your videos and they've been really helpful for planning our first trip to Oahu. We decided on booking Turtle Bay Resort for 5 days. One of the days we were thinking of renting a car and traveling off Resort. Is it possible to get a rental nearby the resort, go on our excursion, then return before end of day? We want to avoid paying for the overnight parking fee. FYI, we're bringing our 1 year old. If you made it this far, Thank you for reading my long winded comment.

    • @TheHawaiiVacationGuide
      @TheHawaiiVacationGuide  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! Definitely explore the north shore while you’re up there for five days. I think the closest car rental place is in Hale’iwa. Ask the resort as they may have a better idea on what to do.

    Hi Guys, Love your videos. I talked to you a little bit on our trip last year to Maui. Would you recommend Turtle Bay in February? I was thinking b/c of the weather it may be better to be in Waikiki. Thanks.

    • @TheHawaiiVacationGuide
      @TheHawaiiVacationGuide  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is hit or miss. We have been there when it was beautiful and another time it stormed the whole time. This video was filmed in February. expect big waves but Kuilima cove is well protected. Now with the higher room rates at Turtle Bay...

    DONT STAY THERE. WAY OVERPRICED. Theres no beach in front, just a bunch of ROCKS. The patio looks out to a grassy area which is SHARED (NO PRIVACY) with all the other Bungalow neighbors, and if you have a noisy neighbor youre out of luck. You have to cross bridge to walk to the main hotel to eat and to go to the NICER sand beach cove (far away). This bridge is next to the Employee Exit door and they go under the bridge to hide and smoke cigs, pot, urinate (you smell it all as you cross the bridge). Their ad says the dedicated concierge works with you to design your itinerary during your stay (nope. they dont). You cant call for assistance you have to text your nonexistent concierge if you need something and sometimes they answer the text but most of the time they ignore you. Our coffee maker wasnt plug into the wall. It was on top of this 300lb huge TV stand so we just moved the coffee maker to the bathroom. Our bathroom sink was cracked in the middle and we texted our "dedicated" concierge as soon as we noticed it, but they ignored our texts. They said they would send someone over but we still had a cracked sink. We just gave up. Then we told another hotel employee about the sink and the NON-Service and we finally got compensation...a measly $150 (We paid $5000+ for 2 nights). We expected our dedicated concierge to greet us with drinks, help us with planning our stay, move us IMMEDIATELY to a better room (they had SEVERAL EMPTY BUNGALOWS). Instead, our "dedicated" concierge who greeted us said he was going on vacation and he introduced us to a lady that he said will take care of us during our stay (nope. never heard from her after the intro). I woke myself up at 4am to try to make plans for our stay, no help from concierge. I would stay there for $600. Anything more is a waste of money. They dont live up to the marketing promises in their website. FALSE ADVERTISING.
