This worked for me! The left AirPod was not connecting and I thought I had damaged it. Once I cleaned the metal part it connected and started charging! You’re a life saver!

if your left airpod doesnt show up in the popup just press forget device in bluetooth. open the case and hold the back button until it turns orange. leave the case open for like 30 seconds. it worked for me

2nd step helped for me, where simply clean the silver bottom tips of the EarPods and also using cotton bud, clean the inner case, the gold tips too
