After playing one full campaign with the Chaos Dwafs, I must say I love them. I haven't awaited such complex game play.
They have a pretty good interactive ecconomy, were some have to really think about what to build next, where to send you caravans and what do I need in exchange.
The Tower is quite unique sytem and the Forge, - all together the IE Campaign is quite a good challenge with a lot of strategy involved.
Some can specialize certain units to extreeme extent, give them buffs like crazy, but not overpowered as it takes time to get them to full strength, so you occupied to upgrade your units far over hundred turns. It is very different to all other steam rolling campaigns I have played with all other factions.
I love the Chaos Dwarfs one of my favorite faction in Total War Warhammer 3 now because they bring a 'fresh wind' into the game.

Really looking forward to play the Choas Drawfs. Love range factions and this faction has some nice range tools. On top of that it is nice to have the region they will occupy fill up a bit more. Interesting to see how this impacts the already fierce fighting that occurs.
My single most looked forward to faction since WH II to be honest. Always loved the Chaos Dwarfs ever since the Babylonian days of the 90s

The TL;DR ofy feelings about chaos dwarfs is I think they look visually cool, they have a fleshed out roster that I think will be fun to play, and there is a little power creep but I honestly thing they did a better job than usual of making Chorfs mostly balanced.
All that said what I am by far most excited for is an actually in depth and engaging economy system. I really loved the old WH2 slave system, and this is that only better with meaningful decisions and trade offs. I will love the dlc even if solely for the economy. (Also cathay caravans are great fun, so love to see chorfs getting those too)

Exciting! I am enjoying chaos dwarfs. I think CA did a great job diversifying their economy based on the lore, and I love the different artillery pieces and the blunderbusses. Would love to see how they stack up against the "good" dwarfs.

I'm sitting drooling waiting to play Chorfs myself, heh heh. I was a little worried at first about how the economy would work, but it looks super intuitive and fun. My only "complaint" is that I'll only have a day to play them before the AGOT mod for CK3 is in open beta
I don't have the necessary patience to do a world conquest since I was little, I did it in all the total wars. But as a personal challenge, I'm going to do a world conquest again now as an old fuck with the chaos dwarfs and post it when I complete it!

I'm personally VERY excited for Chaos Dwarfs. Dwarfs are my favorite race right now, and Chaos Dwarfs are very very similar but mobility and artillery/mechanics that seem WAY more fun.
I hope that they can take elements of the Chaos Dwarf campaign mechanics to overhaul the Dark Elf and Dwarf campaigns. There seems to be lots of cool ideas here.

starterd a run as astragoth recently and at turn 50 i had the 3 settlements you start with...
then started a new run as the guy who spawns at the edge of the map and im turn 70 with like 10-20 settlements about to go massacre a goblin race with 1 army

I've been waiting for the chaos dwarfs for seven years. Extremely hyped for this DLC, it looks excellent. Sad to see that some of the units like the skull cracker, iron daemon, and deathshrieker seem underpowered. Hopefully that gets sorted out.
Balance woes aside, the only thing that's really missing is the Chaos Siege Giant, fingers crossed it comes later. Since it's also a warriors of chaos unit, there's a good chance of it.
Anyone else in here having major issues with the gunner units just fucking not firing, even with seemingly great line of sights?> Happened to me mulitple times, just happened in a battle of three khemri armies versus two of my beat up ones, had between the two of the 12-14 fireglaives and blunderbusses and their infantry literally walked right up to my line, dudes never fired a fucking shot

Glad you didn't go with Zhatan since the focus of his campaign is pretty much taking over Cathay, which is where you spent most of your previous LP. That said I am playing Zhatan and having a great time with him!

Off-topic, but I feel like Chaos Dwarves would be better described as Dark Dwarves. They do not seem very chaotic. They are actually very orderly and organized and their motivations are more along the lines of evil than chaos.

Exciting times! I love the mordor/slaving theme of the Dark Elves but feel pretty meh on their aesthetic otherwise. Evil dwarves? Somehow I love it 😂 The multiplayer battles are fun but I was most excited to see campaign, nice work Heir!

Chorfs seem to make the eco and resource management part of the game far more enjoyable feels like the only faction that has a complete economy. they should really make the caravan system more of a game wide mechanic. like maybe adding it to the elve and human factions as like a sea lanes type thing. just kinda fills in some gaps for me love to have the little battle events with a smaller army the feeling of interacting with the world a little more then wackamole

How about naming a unit of hobgoblin sneaky gits "patchy's stabbies"?
The swirling fire spell for the Chaos Dwarfs reminds me quite a bit of the Green skin ability (can't remember what it is called) where the goblins go through the ranks like a swirling wind-type spell. I tried to look it up, but couldn't find it. 😁
I'm pretty sure you're talking about isn't a spell but the ability the goblin fanatics get.

@Marcus No problem. It does have some similarities but it's a shame it's nowhere near as good. Fanatics can deal some pretty impressive damage on a good placement but it seems burning wrath is just disappointing across the board. People make comparisons to fireball but fireball is just way better imo

I like em, they were rare on TT when I started, you could only scrounge up bits and pieces..but with Forge World etc DawiZahrr gets more love..I still think CA outdid them when it comes to PR.

it seems there is a change in defensive AI behaviour, worse ofc. :D my faith in CA is so low that they can not surpriseme with anything. On the other hand,i have a faith they will eventually balance it out, in 8 years

They removed the cheats for melee combat the AI got in 3 all they get now is the leadership bonus / penalty on higher difficulties.

Once you get fairly far in a campaign how would you go about managing labor? I imagine you are not going to be at war with enough people in late game to sustain production all over your territory.
If you aren't actively fighting large wars start sacking major settlements you get 5k+ laborers do it 3 times in the span of a few turns and you are good for many more turns. I had all of Cathay and the dark lands and most of the mountains and as long as you stay fairly aggressive you will be fine. Late game technology and skills help out a ton to.
If you get a destroyer name it rex the bestest boy cause it looks like a dog
