In true skate you can adjust your tricks mid air (or mid grind). Also, flicking really "feels" like flicking because the board reacts immediately. Skater feels like chaining pre-animated tricks with no real, immediate control over what the board does. It's a great game though.
I can see where you're coming from, but I don't really like the feel of True Skate as much. Doing a tre flip feels really weird, almost like doing a pop shove it late inward heelflip instead of actually using both feet, you know? But both games are worth playing.

But what I'm saying is that ultimately you control the trick, you can perform this 360 flip in an infinite number of ways - vertically, horizontally, slow or fast (skater also lets you chose flipping and spinning force to some extent). I also like how the wheels slide a bit when you land a trick with height speed not very straight, just like a real board does.

One thing I like more about True Skate after playing for a month or two is that if you bail, you can just flip your board back over and keep going. It's easier to explore without having to reset all the time. But I still play Skater more.

Then later you were at a park and the whole thing looked like a storm had just rolled through. Does the game actually look like that or just the capture?
You should check out MyTP Skateboarding, or the freestyle extreme 3D series. MyTP Goes for realism, yet it's still possible to do 8 trick combos. FE3D Is more about combos, and FE3D has bad graphics...
great video! I think the idea of showing the shoes was great not only because it allows spin tricks (which are a big part of skateboard) but also because it looks more like an actual skate game. Touch grind and true skate to me look like just random board flipping, the tricks don't feel like real tricks. The graphics and level design also seem way better to me since they are more realistic, though I gotta agree that putting more obstacles in the levels would be a good idea. It's a shame that it has those glitches, but I guess the physics and looks make up for it. It also seems like the best game to me. Though I haven't played it yet, I might try it now.

I don't have any friends in it either. I set a bunch of tricks, but nobody has ever matched any of them, so I don't know if it actually works. I don't have a problem matching other people's stuff though. You might need to email the developers.

I agree. Every now and then I go back and check for more challenges and 95% of the time, it's ones that I already did, or ones that are impossible to replicate, because someone uploaded it just to show off a funny bug or something. In theory there should be tons of new stuff... Hopefully they can fix that with an update.

The physics on skater fucking blow, just trying to get around the park is tedious as shit and I can’t stress that enough, riding around in true skate is a real breeze once you master the mechanics and because i have mastered the mechanics in true skate it helped me to form rotation of various tricks and have an overall understanding of skater right upon picking it up on the App Store, the first couple minutes I realized how true skate manages to feel a lot more controllable and the mechanics are at your disposable to tweak and learn tricks and perform them in any way you want.
Skater is 100 times better then true skate and touch Grind 2. True skate is just stupid. Has no physics what so ever. You can't do tricks that your actually aiming for. And it is pay to win as well. And touch grind is just so glitchy it's almost unplayable.

I'm finding that the tricks don't work as well when I'm trying to match runs. I'm also matching runs perfectly and it's saying I failed.
