"Sometimes the most we can do is maintain our humanity, keep our hearts open, smile at strangers, and promise ourselves to never become numb to the plight of those around us."
Damn, dude. That was powerful. Thanks for the work you do and the message you're sending. Makes a guy kinda want to start believing in humanity again.

What started out as a rabbit hole down the TH-cam food channels for research purposes I came along this gem. Thanks so much for creating and sharing the vlog. I thought it was so endearing that you tapped into the Vietnam culture and made the effort to understand the hardships. Big inspo! I have a planned trip to se Asia and will make sure to spend more time in Vietnam for these reasons. Cam on

@@wolfcub824 That’s an awful reply. Street food is dirt cheap to begin with, so don’t bargain unless you’re purchasing an enormous amount of food. These street vendors are struggling and already give a discount based on the low price points. If you can afford to travel, then don’t bargain with low price vendors.

@@cheesewithxbread 🤨 Like I said "If you can afford to, don't bargain." Unless of course you are in a place where lack of bargaining is an insult, as there are cultures where not bargaining is a slap in the face.

I'm not local, I've just been here for a few months but it is so obvious that the police don't really care about anything other than money. Sad but true. This is the reason why people in Vietnam try to live abroad. The government do nothing. Life is harder. But citizen don't know the worst place in which they are living.
But you know the situation in this country.

Oh, they don't need licenses to sell fruits. The reason you called it illegal is because the Gov don't want you to gather in order to mess up the streets. And because that channel is quite stinky. If you notice, it's poor on one side and rich on the opposite. They also sell flowers occasionally, especially on TET Holidays.

You are hilarious! I love your video.
I don't think "illegal" is the right term for this. It is kind of a culture. There are a group of people mainly live in their boats and sell their items. They don't have an authorization to sell items because of the tax reason. Besides, they occupy the sidewalk for business without permission. I think this is the government problem. It doesn't want people use the sidewalk without permission or it can't tax boat people since they don't have a specific location (House). The government just puts more restrictions on boat people, but it didn't come up with any solution.
