Superhot was my first VR purchase, and it was mind-blowing. But try as I might, even exploring the alternative game modes, I found it had little to offer in replay value. This was a day one purchase for me, and if it's no more than 'new superhot' I'll be happy with it. But I'd like to see something that brings me back for more once I finish the levels.
@glitchfandango2158 Yeah, it's from spawn point to spawn point. Think it was a mistake the game not making it more apparent. Think I stumbled upon it via somebody on YT and had a jaw drop moment. It gave me an excuse to resist and see with a fresh pair of eyes
Another missed opportunity: showing a real-time replay of your recent actions from a different vantage point. Not only would it look awesome, but it would also make you feel even more badass... especially when you consider that you’re playing as an actor.
That really is a cool idea and I hope the devs see it! The clone-yourself game 'We Are One' did this at the end of each level, so not impossible to implement and add to a future update... Wouild be fun to cut to a cinema setting where you see your moves up on the big screen, perhaps with accompanying cheers (or boos) from the audience!
Well, I personally see absolutely no issue with a game being derivative if it's made well and is a load of fun, so there seems to be nothing negative here for me.
Super hot was the first vr game i played and just thought how amazing it was and since then i have hardly played any flat games anymore.Not sure if i will try action hero as i think i would still prefer super hot.
If you want realistic graphics, the Meta Quest might not be the best platform for you unless you use it with a VR-Capable PC and mainly rely on PCVR games? But yeah - most Quest games rely far more on the gameplay than on having realistic graphics.
You’re right, we went overboard saying it’s a one to one remake, because it isn’t. However the mechanics are identical, the gameplay is identical, and other than adding color and some new scenarios, it adds nothing to the Superhot formula.
@6DOFReviews thats more fair but the remake comment was dumb glad you agree on that. I agree with that. The levels you do in Superhot and in Action Hero are clearly different

What I agreed to is that despite stealing basically all of its mechanics and concepts from Superhot, Action Hero isn’t a one-to-one remake of that game, and Pete’s frustration with how much it copied and how little it introduced led him to overstate the similarity by calling it ‘effectively’ a remake.
I absolutely loved superhot vr and waited forever for a sequel that never came. I played the demo for this and it scratches that itch magnificently.
I think the real test is if you could only buy 1, which would you buy?

Once I discovered you could throw weapons from one area to another in super hot, I got more replay, but it was limited yes

Indeed! Good idea :) Although I image the body kinematics would be hilarious!

There’s only so much replay ability you can get from Super Hot - more scenarios, different themes & colour schemes, I’m in.
Problem withVR games these days is th graphics are so toned down to save on performance that the whole vibe comes off as childish..
