Re4 is the best re in vr in my opinion. Simply because of the game play. It’s still scary but you can do more than just shoot. There’s perfect perys, finishers for stunned enemies, stealth kills. Noticeably different animations for attacking certain weak spots. And probably other stuff that I’m missing. Anything less just feels dull now.

Into The Radius 2 was just released to early access in steamvr. For rogue like genre I would recommend Ancient Dungeon VR. It got co-op update some time ago. "8 bit style" graphics may off put someones.

Gotta agree with Lone Echo. I've had VR since the DK2 and I haven't played a single VR game that held my attention quite like that one. I was absolutely GLUED to it until I beat it. One of the very few VR games I've been that invested in. I feel like it was far ahead of it's time. If that game had came out today, multi-platform, and so many more people able to play it, I bet it would have been a HUGE success.
No Battle Talent is a crime. It has a good modding community with an ingame mod menu, Blade and Sorcery like combat that gives an actual challenge that is physics based, a lot of weapons have special abilities and there is a lot of spells, you fight things like skeletons and goblins, it has a arena sandbox, a rougelike mode, a progression based mode, and a multiplayer in beta phase. Available on all platforms. This game fits like 3 of these categories.
Honestly even though it’s not primarily a VR title but it does have the option for it, Elite Dangerous could fit in the flight sim genre as an honorable mention.
I'm always sad to see Subnautica never makes any survival lists because the native VR is so janky and requires a mod. It's so damned good. Green Hell is also really damned good.

Hey Matteo! Thanks for this great list. I'd definitely recommend these titles. I have played so much VR in the past few years and I would say that I don't really feel immersed anymore unless I'm playing a horror game. That being said, FNAF Help Wanted 1 is my favorite VR game of all time. I did have to look up some strategies because it is pretty hard (but I enjoy hard games.) It is so much scarier than the second one, but there is just so much content, horror, and enjoyment to be had I would definitely recommend trying it out. You're gonna want to grind out every level in that game as it just keeps on serving new levels. Also I would recommend the DLC which leans more into enjoyment but still has its horror aspects.

Brilliant overview. So much better than usual best games vids. You took time to recognise that that will depend on what you like. And then you compared like with like. I’m really grateful. I don’t feel lost anymore :))
Thanks for including Lone Echo series. For me, they're among the best in VR, maybe only topped by Half-Life Alyx. It's difficult to put in words how good they are.
Man, you did a great job on this video. I'm pumped for VR again after being away for a while. With the PSVR 2 PC adapter being released, I'm looking forward to finally playing Lone Echo and Half Life Alyx.
For sim games I'd personally split racing and flight sims. For flight sims my picks would be IL2 Great Battles for WW2 air combat and DCS for cold war to modern air combat. For racing games: almost all serious racing games support VR so it's basically up to what you want to race, iRacing has the best multiplayer experience but is expensive and on the more serious end of the spectrum (intentional ramming will get you banned), the recent F1 games are pretty fun (though I'm not the biggest fan of their physics and driving feel) and for rally you've got D.R.2 or EA WRC. All PCVR because that's where the best sims are.
Beat Saber absolutely owns the first rule of video games; easy to learn difficult to master. Super simple interface, no buttons or joysticks and the high end difficulty is so high it's practically impossible to rate. If they had Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd music packs it would be perfect.
@garrettferrell6821 I would probably throw my shoulder right out to Creeping Death! Not yet, but the Queen pack has Stone Cold Crazy and it's not much different than Metallica's cover. Just James singing instead of Freddie. Says a lot about a song when Metallica covers it and doesn't really get any harder.
If you have Beat Saber on PC, you can easily mod the game and get access to community made songs. I'm sure there's plenty of Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd content out there on the modded side. I've modded my Beat Saber and it's awesome. To the point where I literally never buy the official packs anymore. Overpriced junk in comparison.
@@sgtquencher1002 i immediately download custom songs the moment I bought it. The song packs are absolute price gouging, though I kinda understand why they did that
@@pnoodl3s775 Agreed. There's so much content people have made. I love adding Classic Rock songs because it's personally my favorite genre of music. Though I do have some newer songs but they also sound like Classic Rock. lol
Great reviews of allot of different games. I am a PCVR gamer and use a Quest 3. How would you rate Myst and Riven puzzle solving games? The graphics details of both games are amazing in VR, and like I said we are just solving puzzles with an underlying story line. There is really no fast paced action in Myst and Riven - mainly search and solve. I do have Half life Alyx, into the Radius 2 VR, No Mans Sky VR, and Hubris VR. There are some other interesting action games but waiting for a sale price on STEAM. I also have older DOOM, QUAKE, and Woflenstein games in VR. Surprised that they look and work pretty good in VR Thanks for your video. Take care.
When I started VR at the beginning of the year, I used your videos to expand my game catalogue knowledge. It's cool now seeing these videos while recognizing the games. I'm surprised that Walkabout Minigolf didn't make the list. It's a must get for any headsets! I would've also added Superhot VR, but that's personal preference and may not be considered best for everyone. Keep it up!
Walkabout is such a great game and definitely should be on this list! It just got an update with new modes to play not long ago & they keep putting out these beautiful courses to play on like tomorrow july 25th we are getting the wallace and gromit collab course!
Thanks for this, Mateo311! This had to have been a huge amount of work to put together. It'd be nice to get your recommendations on converted/modded pancake games. Cyberpunk2077, Alien Isolation, RDR2, various UEVR. What are your recommendations. What's woth it, what's not? To me, Cyberpunk2077 is overwhelmingly good! Mixed-VR/AR game recommendations would be nice too: Bricktales, Bomber Drone, etc.
as long as Pavlov is the PvP VRFPS, I agree :) Recently Tarkov guns are added to the most respected community servers. I personally am not much into them, but getting blasted by a granade launcher is always fun (weirdly) Great vid. thx
I just finished the (recently updated) Bulletstorm VR. Awesome VR conversion of a 2015 favorite. Also add Star Wars: Squadrons to your list. It is X-Wing vs TIE Fighter 2020, with VR support. The multiplayer servers are dead but it's still a fun arcade-y space flight sim. (single player story and bot battles now)
Great video! Riven is an excellent recent addition to the puzzle game genre, supports VR. I'm surprised when people say there aren't enough quality games in VR.
Great list of games. One horror/survival game that I really like is Alien Isolation with the VR mod. Hopefully the coming Alien game made for VR will be as good or better.
Crazy how far vr has come! I remember when the original oculus rift came out and I would watch TH-camrs play job simulator, and when I got my quest 2 the greatest game at the time was beat saber or population one. So many new great games have come out since and it’s so much fun now!
Astro Bot Rescue Mission is the best platformer hands down. Also, Red Matter is more like an adventure game than a puzzle game: Puzzle adventure if you will. Still, very exhaustive list 👌
It is a very valid reason. However, if we don't acknowledge older games that still hold up, it is less likely that those will be brought forward to current hardware. It is not like suddenly all the older great games are bad, but just trapped.
Hyper Dash is a smaller game that i am so happy is getting more love. It is the most fun VR game i have played and i have play my fair share of them. The Payload game-mode is so fun and unique and the weapons are amazingly designed and fun to use
Mh. I missed Skyrim. Yeah, its okd, but still THE VR-Game :p And i was hoping for Deisim. Its a God-Sim and so cool. All in all a top video of good VR-Titles. Thanks for the inspiration. I'll go to buy Demeon now. :)
This was an excellent video. Im.really glad blade & sourcery and into the radius are also coming to PSVR2 soon. And lookin forward to aces of thunder for a sim. I gotta shout out stilt for platformers, propagation paradise hotel for horror, 7th guest for puzzle and galaxy kart for racers.
Man, lists like these make me want to go grab a PSVR2 and a decent PC so I can play all the best the medium has to offer. I'll just stick to my Quest 3 for now though I think. No love for PSVR1? Blood and Truth and Astro Bot Rescue Mission were amazing! A couple I might add to a 'Best of VR' type list, but not sure what genre they would fall into would be Vail (Non free-to-play competitive shooter?) and Trover Saves the Universe (Humor? Platformer?).
Until You Fall... A game I forgot that I fell in love with at one time. I need to hop back in! Been tryin to push myself to start working out again and that game will definitely get my heart pumpin. Seriously, if you want a workout without realizing you're workin out, play some Until You Fall. You'll be sweating by the end and not care, haha. It's so good.
Hell, sweeper has to be one of the best rogue likes in vr. I don’t think there’s many if any other VR games that allow the same kind of movement. The spells are awesome, and the weapons feel good to use. I know, rogue likes aren’t known for it but I wish it had more of a story to it too.
Did I blink when you mentioned "Ghosts of Tabor"? It's a game in a genre I want to get good at, but lack the willpower to push myself in to standing up and raising the heart rate. Maybe when I get a sweat proof face thing for the new Q3 I'll trust the process more, but until then there's loads of options listed almost mentioned too quickly for me to note down. Edit to add a comment about "The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners" - I have it my Steam playtime is 20 minutes so I guess I don't do horror VR well at all. That was the Rift S days with the cable I could trip over or rip out when standing up. Now with the Q3, Virtual Desktop and a better router I can get wireless speeds between the headset and PC for PCVR wireless gaming at the same speed, which from my experience with Half Life: Alyx is bloody awesome. I just need to train myself to now remember I can turn on the spot when I need to instead of using the controller direction. Also to note that there's a Steam VR Update in the works that will allow for hand tracking in games. I haven't yet tried it out and it's currently on Beta but it is coming and that will further the immersion of PCVR.
This is a great list and great material, as usual. You REALLY have to try Ragnarock! It's a great warmup for VR boxing and, though the graphics are stylized, I find it more satisfying than Beat Saber. Some of the tunes are real bangers.
Some good choices there, where I do not agree is missing out Space Sims as a genre entirely? cos you have Elite, X Rebirth, NMS & Star Wars Squadrons…. For flight sims DCS is the go to VR FlightSim for realism VTOL doesn’t come close… and for puzzle games yeah Red Matter 2 is good game but the puzzles are lousy you are much better off with Myst, 7th Guest, The Room VR etc
these multiplatform lists with all these exclusive games on hardware this expensive makes no sense to me , but at least you listed the platforms clearly unlike many others
I mean this with the utmost respect. You are top notch at that "G-force" old school delivery. And I hate it. Not cause there's anything wrong with it, but because it works. 😂
Thank you, very nice list as always! It would be nice to add which of those games are physically active and which are not, even tho half of them I can guess myself. Or even if you want ideas for new videos, you can make one with and one without physically active games in every category :)
I wouldnt call bonelab the best shooter, but with the huge modding community and physics engine, i have had some of the most unique and fun experiences ever. Nowhere else right now can I drive away from a literal nuclear blast in slow motion.
Ghosts of Tabor is on Pico 4 as well. Not just Meta Quest 2/3. And you need to take a look at Hellsweeper VR. Its on everything and is crossplay I like this one as one of my most favorite RPG rogue lite game. The combo's with weps/spells are endless. Also a hidden gem. Synthriders. It gives Beat saber a run for its money. Honestly more people need to look into Synthriders. Its got custom maps right out of the box, needs some mindnubming work to get the downloader linked to Quest2/3 headsets, but Pico 4 and PC just download drag and drop. Sadly PSVR2 players have no modding. 3.2k+ modded maps.
Dungeons of Eternity got a great update recently and a small one is coming very soon. I think they're doing a free weekend this week as well. Such a fun game. They've been doing a great job of supporting the title and adding content.

i think you should add in PvP indie games. Broken edge is a fantastic sword fighting game that is severely underated. the devs put a ton of work in carefully balancing classes. its in a pretty good state right now and theres a good discord community with the developer sponsoring some tournaments with a $300 prize pool
Eleven Table Tennis is INSANELY fun to play! 3d Printed Table Tennis paddle for my controller OR you can buy one. It's one of the most fun I had in VR, whether you are a ping pong person or not!
Into the Radius is for me the best version on the Pico 4, best handling and interaction of the weapons, no comparison to the Quest or PSVR2 version, for me it is so good that I only play on the Pico4

Absolutely agreed. I love that game. Haven't played it since before the newest content update. I really need to get back to it soon.
I love when you do these videos.
Thanks for including Lone Echo series. For me, they're among the best in VR, maybe only topped by Half-Life Alyx. It's difficult to put in words how good they are.
Good list. One of my favorites from Quest is Path of the Warrior
That's a hidden gem...👍🏿
Man, you did a great job on this video. I'm pumped for VR again after being away for a while. With the PSVR 2 PC adapter being released, I'm looking forward to finally playing Lone Echo and Half Life Alyx.
Perfect list 👌 Thanks for the nod to Ghost Signal, I slept on that and went to download it while watching this video 🖖
Can't believe The Light Brigade was not part of the "Roguelikes" section
just got back into VR after a few years hiatus, good list to give me stuff to look at.
For sim games I'd personally split racing and flight sims. For flight sims my picks would be IL2 Great Battles for WW2 air combat and DCS for cold war to modern air combat.
For racing games:
almost all serious racing games support VR so it's basically up to what you want to race, iRacing has the best multiplayer experience but is expensive and on the more serious end of the spectrum (intentional ramming will get you banned), the recent F1 games are pretty fun (though I'm not the biggest fan of their physics and driving feel) and for rally you've got D.R.2 or EA WRC.
All PCVR because that's where the best sims are.
Thanks! Great list. This really helps.👍
Thank you so much
Beat Saber absolutely owns the first rule of video games; easy to learn difficult to master. Super simple interface, no buttons or joysticks and the high end difficulty is so high it's practically impossible to rate.
If they had Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd music packs it would be perfect.
Do the have a Metallica music pack?some Metallic classic seem like they would be great for Beat Saber
Surprised that they look and work pretty good in VR
Thanks for your video. Take care.
Great video! You should mention Freeland in the list, as it’s launching soon!
This is a great list, but I definitely would have included Battle Talent.
Mixed-VR/AR game recommendations would be nice too: Bricktales, Bomber Drone, etc.
very solid video, thank you!
as long as Pavlov is the PvP VRFPS, I agree :) Recently Tarkov guns are added to the most respected community servers.
(single player story and bot battles now)
Sports games are overlooked here as well:
Racket Club, Eleven table tennis, First Person Tennis
Thanks for the timestamps with game names.
Lone Echo is my undisputed favourite also. I've never had a game shock me as much as this did, and I've gamed my entire life.
Great video! Riven is an excellent recent addition to the puzzle game genre, supports VR.
I'm surprised when people say there aren't enough quality games in VR.
It's the thing people said 4 years ago, but people didn't update their biased opinions
Great list of games. One horror/survival game that I really like is Alien Isolation with the VR mod. Hopefully the coming Alien game made for VR will be as good or better.
Video of ABSOLUTE value!! Thank you very much
awesome video
Crazy how far vr has come! I remember when the original oculus rift came out and I would watch TH-camrs play job simulator, and when I got my quest 2 the greatest game at the time was beat saber or population one. So many new great games have come out since and it’s so much fun now!
Astro Bot Rescue Mission is the best platformer hands down. Also, Red Matter is more like an adventure game than a puzzle game: Puzzle adventure if you will. Still, very exhaustive list 👌
I excluded astro because I'm not covering psvr1 anymore but I agree it's fantastic
Yeah, its okd, but still THE VR-Game :p
And i was hoping for Deisim.
Nice video, just felt I had to clarify that Crossfire: Sierra Squad is also available on Steam if any pcvr users would like to try that game out.
HELLA NICE VIDEO, THANK YOU
Man, lists like these make me want to go grab a PSVR2 and a decent PC so I can play all the best the medium has to offer.
Good list, surprised I didn't see Green Hell VR on it though. Would thoroughly recommend.
Just wishlisted Journey to Foundation. Appreciate the recommends!
I know, rogue likes aren’t known for it but I wish it had more of a story to it too.
matteo: the best single player shooter is half life alyx.
me:(cries in quest)
Try half life 2, and half life episode one, and half life episode 2.
Sideload Half-life one from sidequest, if u are a Half-life fan...
But... You can use your Quest on PC.
I’m using quest 3 on pc with 0 problem. I actually don’t have any quest games, all steamvr
For next year I'd love to see a VR Ports section, cause there are some bangers in there. But you forgot Vail VR for PVP. It's crazy good.
@@sidrat2009 yup you missed it
This is a great list and great material, as usual. You REALLY have to try Ragnarock! It's a great warmup for VR boxing and, though the graphics are stylized, I find it more satisfying than Beat Saber. Some of the tunes are real bangers.
While it has not been updated in a while the total free game Graple Tournament still is a blast
Thanks this was so helpful I love VR
good list, you forgot Battle Talent
I was gonna say that, too many lists don’t include it
Some good choices there, where I do not agree is missing out Space Sims as a genre entirely? cos you have Elite, X Rebirth, NMS & Star Wars Squadrons…. For flight sims DCS is the go to VR FlightSim for realism VTOL doesn’t come close… and for puzzle games yeah Red Matter 2 is good game but the puzzles are lousy you are much better off with Myst, 7th Guest, The Room VR etc
The light brigade is a top tier roguelite worth mentioning
these multiplatform lists with all these exclusive games on hardware this expensive makes no sense to me , but at least you listed the platforms clearly unlike many others
I enjoyed playing Cyberpunk 2077 with R.E.A.L. VR mod, really brings the whole Night City to life.
I mean this with the utmost respect. You are top notch at that "G-force" old school delivery. And I hate it.
Not cause there's anything wrong with it, but because it works. 😂
Like g-force tech tv? I'm just old
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 We all are. It's alright. Haha
Thank you, very nice list as always! It would be nice to add which of those games are physically active and which are not, even tho half of them I can guess myself. Or even if you want ideas for new videos, you can make one with and one without physically active games in every category :)
The Light Brigade and Ancient dungeon VR are two of the best Rougelites on quest in my opinion.
Again, great video. Can't wait for your channel to truly blow up (say...+1m subs) =)
I wouldnt call bonelab the best shooter, but with the huge modding community and physics engine, i have had some of the most unique and fun experiences ever. Nowhere else right now can I drive away from a literal nuclear blast in slow motion.
pretty nice list, thanks
After i got Synthriders i can't go back to Beat Saber. It is so much better
It's great how the Quest 3 can also just be used for pcvr.
singleplayer story games: Budget Cuts 1/2
Rougelike/sandbox action game : Paint the town red
For horror games, Blair Witch VR could also be recommended ;)
Definitely check out a township tale! It’s an underloved game that is so fun with friends!
Half Life Alyx is incredible!
Dungeons of Eternity got a great update recently and a small one is coming very soon. I think they're doing a free weekend this week as well. Such a fun game. They've been doing a great job of supporting the title and adding content.
I think that free weekend just happened. I had intended to try it but slept on it.
In the store it tells you the following weeks weekend games,I believe this week is gaurdians frontline and a racket game
For best story driven single player shooter on quest, I think I'd go with arizona sunshine 2. Maybe star wars tales from the galaxy.
Also: Have a nice holiday! Buy your daughter a big ice cream.
@@FlorianFahrenberger thanks dude
wie random das du hier kommentierst. Bin auf deinen kanal gegangen und hab gesehen, dass ich dein usb mic vergleich video von vor 9 jahren gesehen habe
@@fnacoo 🤣🤣🤣 Das ist ja Ewigkeiten her! 😅
Serious Sam The Last Hope. It is actually a standing shooting range. But it is so fun.
I'd like to shout out lego bricktales. It's a nice chill and creative experience whether you use the AR part or not. Great for kids too
love ur vid but can u include the pico 4 its a good stand alone vr that also has some good games like blade and sorcery, ghost of tabor and breachers and i barley or even never see a vid about it or games on it
I used too but very few people own it.
i think you should add in PvP indie games.
Into the Radius is for me the best version on the Pico 4,
best handling and interaction of the weapons, no comparison to the Quest or PSVR2 version, for me it is so good that I only play on the Pico4
@@kimk.7991 what about pc?
excellent video
