- This is the kind of mech game I’ve always wanted to play in VR. It’s a like a mix of Pacific Rim, Real Steel, or that really cool Netflix show Love Death and Robots. But this game has an amazingly unique identity of its own and I can’t wait to show you what it’s all about. This is UNDERDOGS.

Also the disconnect between your arms and the “simulated weight” of the mech/weapons feels natural compared to other physics based games
I agree, it’s just the right mix of responsive and weighty.
i feel like a mech game is perfect for this. in games where the controllers feel like your real hands, the discrepancy can feel weird and clunky. but in this game, your controllers represent actual controllers, making that discrepancy actually make more sense, both logically and physically
I can't believe this guy actually knows the movie I love that movie but the only problem is the movie ain't really that popular so I think it's pretty cool to find another person who likes the movie I like

This game looks like it should be a VR classic staple game like beatsaber. I love how polished this is and it feels like it finally catches VR up with other types of gaming.

I am LOVING this game. Art style, music, locomotion... firing on all cylinders. On the reveal trailer I saw people complaining about "gorilla tag" movement but your comparison to Nock is spot on. Locomotion feels precise and physical and I'm glad to give the joysticks a rest.
Absolutely!! Yeah it’s tempting to call it similar to Gorilla Tag but it’s quite different since there’s no vertical bounce! Glad you’re loving it too! :D

The stress relief gained from pounding a random robot to the ground after a long stressful day is truly spectacular.

I'm SOOOOO glad they made a pcvr version, MQ3 is basically unaffordable in Russia 😢
The one thing I find cool but kind of annoying when you're far into a game is when your cockpit breaks and your HUD is all glitched and can only barely see it through the glass.
(Also, if you play the game with smooth turn on, and rotate while one arm is on the ground, you can slide in a fast circle, and it's both hilarious and somewhat useful.)
I bought it and really enjoyed the gameplay but I feel like I saw almost everything in too short of a time.. I just don't know what I'm missing.
I love the cel shaded art style, reminds me of the unbreakable gumball.

Saw you post this video yesterday, bought it after watching about 2 minutes, beat the story on my first run somehow, and am ready to do it all over again.
I hope you understand that you are doing a great deal for the VR community, as lots of people review every popular VR game, but you handpick which ones are worth our time and so far every game you have recommended has been a hit for me.

I love your channel bro. I saw this game a little while ago when i was brownsing the Oculus store, and was thinking about buying it but didnt want to waste my money on "yet another VR-Roguelike" but thanks to you im definitely grabbing a copy

Best part is that every weapon has its place, the duel grapple strategy I did as a joke but it’s been my best run so far, so many different ways to customize.
i feel it’s worth mentioning the lack of motion sickness despite how you’re throwing yourself around at mach speeds in a mech suit. it’s great!
Just saying, the mod that gives your remaining arm 5x turbo for the rest of the fight is definitely one of the best in the game
I've been wanting more boxing style games in VR. The closest I've had was using only shields in Battle Talent
hardest part of the final boss is not because im low on hp or its a hard fight, its that my arms are so god damn tired dude
I look at other people playing this game and then clips of me playing and think, “Jesus Christ im a try hard.” The best part about this game is you can have different fighting styles. Hit and run, jab swarms, wide swings. And all of them feel great. (Though I will NEVER feel anything better than backhanding a junk dog out of the air at full force and sending them into a wall, only to grab them and throw them the other way.
Awesome video! Can’t wait for more hidden gems 💎 in the future. That game looks so cool; fingers crossed for a PSVR 2 version. Sadly, I’m still stuck without a Quest 3 :(

This is quite possibly one of my favorite vr games of all time, and one of my favorite games in general. I have beaten the game around 8 times, beat it without any new weapons or bashers (about to beat it without any addons, new weapons, upgrades, or repairs), and almost 100% the game.
I want mech suits like this except I want it to be like that episode of Love Death Robots. Theres a breach in the barrier and me and my boys have to walk through the sketchy ass woods fending off things to defend the breach and stop it. Would be sooo epic.
wow i love the mechanics of the game outside of the arena, this is the first pc game ive wanted on console and i want it badddd, theres that cell shaded mech game coming soon enough

Fights are intense in this game. Had one like this. Bubble shattered where one hit will kill you ending you run, Left arm gone,Right arm critical, while fighting a mini boss and barley being able to move. Winning felt SO SATISFYING.

If they haven’t already, then they should make it so that petting the friendly robo-dog heals it
I saw the game on tiktok and knew I wanted it immediately after playing for a while, I finally beat it and there are some really cool enemies at the end of it

Got this game recently and was in one of the rouglike/dnd style segments between missions. Went to get stuff to repair my mech

Something similar to this was RIGS on the original PSVR. I loved that game but I wish we had it or something like it on PCVR/Quest
TITANFALL + WII BOXING! this is the titanfall x vr i have always wanted
also when you get to the final boss your like beatbox rap music that plays nonstop to the point its what you expect cuts out, its like "its serious now"
this some protocol 3, protect the pilot feeling game, and im probably going to be buying it soon.
a multiplayer pvp in this game will be amazing and a true real steel feeling
holy shit, this mech setup is like.... _exactly_ a vr game i've been envisioning for a while. i am so delighted that someone made this because i sure as hell was never gonna with my no coding skills.
Love this game. i feel like it could benefit from a 1v1 or 2v2 multiplayer mode.
The best quest 3 *AND* quest 2 game. Just bought it and still just as breathtaking and thrilling!
I love how this game actually has music and shit to litsen to. Playing games like boneworks where its very eerie and quiet and playing b&s which has the same 3 battle tracks mixed with screaming made me litsen to podcasts or hype music while playing. And this is the first game to break that cycle and make some banger tracks
My FAVORITE thing about this, even though it’s relatively small, is the dynamic voice lines. So, I fought with one arm once, nothing out of the ordinary. But then I do a mech fight with one arm and King says he’s seen me win with one arm before, i can do it again. GOTY
I feel like this game should have multi-player. Think of it. Two or more players smacking it out in the pit.

It looks pretty impressive. I'm thinking of getting a VR roguelike, but I'm having a hard time deciding.
"Underdogs" is definitely a contender, but "The Light Brigade" looks amazing too.
It's too bad none of them seem to have any multiplayer options, nor any future plans for including any of them. That would make them easy picks.
That’s a tough choice! Both are top-notch. If you don’t already have a good VR shooter, then go with Light Brigade. But if you need a good VR melee game, definitely go with Underdogs!
I have Light Brigade and it’s probably the best shooter I have on quest 2. It’s casual and a difficult game. Honestly nothing compares to sitting behind cover waiting for a opening in the enemy’s shots to peak out and return fire. Also the bosses are challenging and the game has good replay ability

@VirtualBroReviews the devs did say theyd consider adding some type of pvp but its expensive to do and would take a lot of resources so it would depend on the success ofvthe game...
The dogs that grab your arms can be counterd by feeding them something else like cars, explosives, and other enemies
Another example of the DEPTH this game has! I barely covered all the cool enemy types and how they force you to change play styles! It’s brilliant!

i got thisgame today and have plauyed it for 3 hours, this is amazing, and wait, IS THAT PROJECT DEMIGOD? I LOVE THAT ONE TOO, isn'tas good but, its pretty cool, but this game needs to be a staple game like beat saber and the iron man game for soem reason, it should come with a headset cus its just so good

It’s a Great game and it’s very high quality. There’s plans to add an endless and maybe a sandbox mode.
Also for some reason a lot of people are failing to understand what a roguelike is. I’ve seen a bunch of reviews and comments complaining about losing all your stuff when you die and about the game being repetitive…that’s what roguelike means lol.

My personal favorite thing to do in Underdogs is to grab robots with the Fingers and beat the others with it.

@@VirtualBroVR I'm not exactly sure, but probably the bomba (whatever it's called, I honestly forgot lol), if paired up with the right arm type, it can hit incredibly hard

It makes me sad every time I see an Oculus-exclusive VR game, because I don't have the patience to figure out how to run it with my Index with third-party software and such. Otherwise this game and Stormlands and a couple of others would totally be on my list of games to play.
