    Tommaso Albinoni, belonged to a bourgeois family with money, not waiting to live off his talent. He was a great violinist and singing master. He became known especially in the theatre where there are still some melodies. He was a friend of Bach from which he took some fugue themes. This work was unknown until 20th century. Without the genius of Vivaldi, but it occupies a preponderant place with that one and Corelli. His work consists of operas, concerts, minuets, sonatas,etc.
    The harmony, joy and elegance that is transmitted through these concerts is unsurpassed.These music comforts us from many of life’s less good times. The sublime and extraordinary beauty of the sound of the oboe and the strings that make up orchestration part is fabulous. We are completely involved in the wonderful sound of this musical baroque masterpiece. Thanks for this amazing recording.

    Le confinement m'a permis de retrouver des perles de musique classique. Parmi celles-ci s'est glissé cet enregistrement de l'orchestre baroque de l'Académie de Musique Ancienne, dirigé par Christopher Hogwood. C'est avec une bienveillante délicatesse qu'il permet à chaque instrument de se fondre dans l'harmonie générale tout en exprimant la quintessence de ses possibilités. Chaque instrumentiste, au cours de l'interprétation délivre son contenu céleste ou plus exactement spirituel car la spiritualité appartient au domaine de ce qui suit le Réel quand l'art le transcende. Le hautbois domine le jeu mais il ne faut pas perdre de vue qu'Albinoni excellait dans le jeu de cet instrument. Merci à TH-cam, pour ses morceaux choisis, de nous raccourcir le temps du très long confinement

      Truth

    • @elaineblackhurst1509
      @elaineblackhurst1509 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Kingsley Pearce These three composers might usefully be separated out.
      Corelli’s Opus V violin sonatas and Opus VI concerti grossi were world changers; at a stroke, all previous music became dated and old-fashioned, and they influenced music for the rest of the Baroque period. Indeed Corelli wrote some music which transcends the ages.
      Telemann was a fine and extremely prolific composer.
      Albinoni to my ears is well short of Corelli and Telemann as a composer.
      In short, I agree completely that these three composers wrote some ‘remarkable music’; the difference I think is that some was more was more remarkable than some other, and that the three composers are not of equal stature.

    One of the best interpretations of Albinoni's Opus 9. I'm very fond of Baroque music, and Italy has produced quite a few composers practicing that style during the 17th century. Albinoni's music has been under the radar for too long, but fortunately, is now being rediscovered with more and more recordings made currently available (both as re-releases, as with this version by Hodgwood's AAM and new interpretations). I own the whole set of existing compositions by Albinoni on disc, and have listened to those countless times with constant joy and wonder. If you like that Opus, I recommend getting some of Albinoni's other cycles, especially Opus 1 and 3. Albinoni certainly has no match among Italian baroque composers, except of course for the Red Priest (aka Vivaldi, whom even Bach greatly admired and found highly original)... with a more than honorable mention for Locatelli, another underestimated baroque musician.

    We owe Sir Christopher Hogwood and his orchestra a great debt of gratitude. Yes, period instrument performances today are much more accomplished in terms of tuning etc. But these guys cleared away the cobwebs that had gathered around baroque music. These performances together with Handel, Vivaldi etc. etc. demonstrate how wonderful these composers were.

      Nikolaus Harnoncourt was first in line. He and his wife Alice founded the Concentus Musicus Wien in 1953. They were responsible for the first period instrument recordings of Bach's Brandenburg Concerti (1964), the Johannes-Passion (1966), the violin concerti (1967), the h-moll messe (1968), the orchestral suites (1969), the Matthäus-Passion (1970), and with Gustav Leonhardt, the complete sacred cantatas (1971-1990). Hogwood and Pinnock were johnny-come-latelies.

    Hogwood and the Academy are a class act, and using original instruments and tuning takes us closer to the world this music came from. It's a sobering thought in a way to realize that this is the pop music of another era. Where did we go wrong?

    Mi sono sempre chiesto cosa avesse Albinoni per farmelo preferire a tutti gli altri compositori di musica barocca, anche più acclamati:
    é l'uso dei bassi che ne fa il compositore, ( che accompagnano quasi costantemente gli strumenti) e che, in alcune parti, sono un vero e proprio incrocio di partiture soliste, cosa che non ritrovo in nessun altro maestro dell'epoca e che, a mio parere, ha ispirato in seguito tutta la musica fino ad oggi, e che rende il barocco più facile all'ascolto per chi si avvicina a questo genere musicale per la prima volta, ritrovando una continuità nell'uso dei bassi che, nella musica odierna, ha un''mportanza fondamentale.

    after reading some the comments I must say find it fascinating how much classical music culture differs in the various countries. Albinoni is quite popular here in Norway were I reside and most classical music lovers are quite familiar with this music. The first time I realized how different music culture could be was when I lived in NYC many years ago. People would often talk about the great composers, Bach , Mozart, Beethoven and Tchaikovsky. Bach, Mozart and Beethoven was all ok but if the average Norwegian Classical music fan was to mention a number four that would most definitely be Händel. Tchaikovsky along with Chopin on the other hand would be way down the list, beneath Schubert, Haydn and Schumann.
