I have always thought that when Tomaso Albinoni's enchanting music is played through Oboe, apart from the beautiful music, honey also flows from the oboe! It seems that maestro Albinoni was an expert in creating honeyed music- tastes of both linger in our memory for a long time! An aural pleasure nonetheless a pleasure for the tongue. Wonderful indeed was the magic of Albinoni through his magnificent music.

Albinoni is at least as good as Bach in my opinion, and warmer. Now, Albinoni was not famous in his lifetime for the music you are hearing. He was famous for his many, many operas, which have been completely forgotten. Unbelievable. But Bach is so serious and noble. Leo Depuydt

One of the characteristics of the early Baroque is the big contrast between the fast & the slow movements that has been called the baroquian " claro obscuro " Albinoni's music is more balanced, for our contemporary hears, reducing that contrast, by extending the brightness of the fast mvnts to the slow ones and shortening this last ones, that make us happier while listening to his music

The painting is "The Aegean Sea" by Frederick Edwin Church, circa 1877. The double rainbow, with the beautiful depiction of the Alexander dark space between the bows, and the resulting play of light and dark, is quite lovely.

I would like to say that there were two poles in baroque Venetian music, as Plato vs Socrates in the classical Greek antique philosophy To speak short, Albinoni ca re^resent an aristocratic trend, while Vivaldi cab represent a popular one.
Could you please elaborate? I don't see Vivaldi as less aristocratic than Albinoni... do you say that because his four seasons are popular? If that's the case, there is so much more to him than that...

Dykes it could be a misunderstanding of the word 'fun.' for some people, 'fun' is something of a non-serious nature, which would offend a person who feels that respect of this music is important. however, the first commenter probably meant 'fun' as a very enjoyable activity. so giving both of them the benefit of the doubt, maybe there is just a difference of perspective.
