I must say I felt repelled by this scent when I first tried it, as a sample. And the second time. And probably the next few attempts I had @ wearing it. But then, it slowly got to the point it clicked, and now both me and my wife absolutely love it. I love it's uniqueness, as well as how versatile it is, despite the rather heavy profile. All year round perfume for me.
I currently own 4 Amouage bottles, and Interlude is one of those. One of my absolute favorite perfumes with Royal Tobacco fighting for the first spot.

Hey man! I really enjoy your reviews, I like your structured, pragmatic approach to reviewing. I have Black Iris for three months, and recently I purchased the original Interlude too, and I'm trying to decide which one to keep, but it's a very hard task 😅. I generally tend to like the herbal zing of the original's opening more than the bitter-somehow-acidic-fermented opening of the Black Iris but not sure... The dry down of the original is straight smoldering campfire to me, very nice and evocative, while the BI is more vanillic in the drydown. The original seems a bit weaker in strength than the BI. I have a 2021 BI-batch and I think the original Interlude is 2023 but not sure. H46717 with the new sans-serif font on the bottle. I am curious what batch do you have? Thanks!

Haha, can you tell im going through your catalog of videos as of late? 😂 Another great video -- i recently went to a standalone amouage boutique near me and got to try out pretty much their entire current lineup. Some i have had samples and some were completely new.
Every interlude was absolutely amazing to me. Funnily enough, the original is the most jagged upfront while the extrait seems to smooth it all out. And black iris is also great, maybe my favorite but it's so hard to choose between them!! From the older eras i also really enjoyed myths, jubilation, and overture for different reasons and i really want to go back to that boutique to have more time with the ones i missed out on.
I'm wondering what your opinion on boundless is, if you've tried it? I thought it was great and had a "chewy" aspect that the resins brought to the table that gives it plenty uniqueness as opposed to the more mass-appealing ambery sweet tobacco fragrances on the market, and some of the best vanilla transitions like material has. I feel like it's gotten a bad rap among amouage diehards because of the switch in creative direction that's a bit unfair to me. Your takes on fragrances are very genuine and agreeable to me, which is why im curious if you've had any experience with boundless.
Thanks again for your great content!

@@SeldomlyOften yeah, of the ones I tried at the boutique, I found myself really enjoying the offerings that she made, even the 'feminine' geared offerings. Memoir, overture, boundless were the standouts from her for me.
memoir was a lot more understated than I thought it would be but that's perfectly fine, just more of a professional fougere-type rather than a foresty dark and mystical scent that people claim it to be. Almost in the vibe of journey man in intentions, which I also enjoyed. For forest-like scents, I usually think that more deep and earthy patchouli heavy scents are my vibe, like Borneo 1834. There's things by smaller brands that I've tried that seem really nice but I have no idea about performance, like clue's morel map and Andrea maack's coven. Overture is just a beast though, and I need to revisit it haha. I wish I could try myths man, maybe I'll try a decant down the line.
Looking forward to your Boundless first-impressions video! I also get the redundancy aspect of your decision making process, I personally hate overconsuming I'm keeping that in mind as I slowly build my collection as well.

Man, interlude smell like I walked out of a smokey room of incense. This is a frangence for the great grandfathers.. interlude doesn't give a mood of elegance.. the best way to explain Interlude is to think of a cigar shop environment 😢

@@luxe4744 I actually think it’s pretty modern. Yes, it’s not your typical smell good scent but I find it intriguing. I personally tend to associate vetiver and lavender to older dudes usually. What is a strange fragrance that you think is modern and ‘young’?

@SeldomlyOften thx for writing back to me. And I understand ur viewpoints... Honestly, "Interlude" gives me earthy, Christmas, and Thanksgiving vibes, including the holidays, colors green and red, drinking eggnogs, and camping. This is a good frangence for guys who hunts in the wild and that enjoy the outdoors smells of grass, bugs, and the crackling sound of wood fires and fishing, etc
I like to pair my frangence with my aesthetic so
Here are two ways I would pair "Interlude" for men:
      1) I would wear it with my Palm Angels sunglasses, modern-day oversized wide-leg blue jeans, with a slim fit white blazer
      2) Use it as a car air freshener

@@luxe4744 I like your aesthetic pairing idea 🙂
When experiencing a fragrance I like to try ride that thin line of completely unbiased while still trying to let it transport me 😉

amouage scents are supposed to be worn in hot warm weather ... its from the middle east!!!

@@brocko9386 true and I love doing that but it also depends on the culture. Wearing Interlude 53 in the summer, in Japan, is not something you really feel comfortable doing if you have respect for other people.
