    Watched the video. Thought you achieved some amazing results. I purchased the product and went to town on my 5 year stored pontoon. From the years of storage and lack of maintenance I had built up some pretty bad dirt stains. I took it out last week to wash it and soap and water and pressure washer were not enough. It removed some dirt but there were some residual stains left behind. I used this product last night mixed at a 5:1/4:1 and man the results are fabulous. I came back over with a protectant for the vinyl and it looks like I just rolled it off the showroom floor. Amazing results and thank you so much for the tip! I also purchased the all purpose cleaner (so I can try the carpet) and the Xpress wax. I would think I would be able to use the wax as a protectant for the vinyl rather than an expensive vinyl protectant from Star Brite. What are your thoughts? Looking forward to detailing my boat. There is something about the satisfaction that you restored a vehicle to looking like the first day you bought it. I'm in SO CAL as well. I owe you a beer for sure Darren!

      I used to think the same thing. Clr doesn’t do much. That magic eraser is killing your leather. Youre literally slowly scratching away the outside layer. I have since had my boat reskinned. Try starbrite Mildrew stain remover. Spray liberally let sit for 10 and wipe with a microfiber cloth. Hope that helps saves you from having to reupholster.

    Just tried this on my boat. Went out and bought all the stuff except for the magic eraser and got the Purple Power instead of Maguire's Super Degreaser because I couldn't find it. Purple Power is a good heavy duty degreaser I bought by the gallon and have to dilute. It did a great job but there are a lot of little spot stains from the mildew. How do I get those off? Some parts come out really nice and others are just too heavy.

    I have a 2006 Crownline 220 LS. Beautiful, but I have many oak and maple trees. I keep it covered, except one time recently. it rained and stormed, then got hot. in 3 days, I had dark maple leaf pattern stains on the white vinyl. I have tried bleach, baking soda, peroxide, goo gone, vinegar, paint thinner, dawn, 409, scrubbing bubbles, oxyclean, scrub free, and Starbright Mildew Stain Remover. They are lighter, but still there. I've now resorted to Rustoleum Specialty White Vinyl Dye (paint). That covers the stains nicely, but the blue piping is a challenge. I ordered a gallon of Meguiar's Super Degreaser at O'Reilly and am waiting for it to come in. Have I wasted my money, or is it really going to perform miracles as your demo shows? Really frustrated and looking for a real answer.

    So will the Degreaser dry it out like bleach? Because I don't want to ruin my vinyl to get it clean. I'm worried because I use Armor All the first two times I cleaned it and then I looked it up the Armor All isn't good for vinyl because it has silicone. So is this Degreaser safe for the threading and the vinyl so it doesn't dry rot it?

    NO!!!! On magic eraser. Do not use on vinyl. 2 years from now when it's cracked, fading and disintegrating - you'll blame age. It's that you rubbed the first few layers of the vinyl off and the UV light destroyed it... A stiff nylon brush and a mild detergent. That's it. Nothing else.

    • @autofetishdetail
      @autofetishdetail  9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Richard Moore Which is why in all my Magic Eraser videos I warn that the Magic Eraser will eventually abrade most any surface and you need to understand the trade-off's. As the user, you are always in control as to how much and how hard to rub. But with that said, you don't have to use it so aggressively to remove the finish on any material. Understanding the limitations or the cons of anything is always the recommended approach. There are also times when you need to pick the lesser of evils, and many people would rather have random isolated stains removed and the surface abraded then to live with the stain long term.
      I also think it is rather over-dramatization to suggest that any use of the Magic Eraser will produce the bad results you are suggesting. I have yet to see this happen to me professionally, but I also apply some common sense to the moment and understand the limitations and trad-off's and adjust accordingly.

    Darren use gloves. The chemicals you use on a daily basis are fairly harsh not to mention the dirt comming off the vehicles. We want you to stay healthy and keep pumping out these videos

      Yes, you are correct. I need to be more diligent in the use of gloves. On the hot, humid days it is especially bothersome.

    Did you say 15 dollars PER FOOT!!!!! If my car is about 22 feet long, yes that is a large car but it is an example. 22 X 15 is 330. So 330 dollars to detail my car. For that price I could buy a Bissell carpet cleaner and a shop vac for about 230 bucks, and that would leave me 100 dollars to buy cleaners and brushes. 15 dollars per foot is WAY to expensive only people that make good money can afford that. If you want to attract more customers you need to lower the price to a acceptable level. Say 90 to 120 dollars for a entire job for a car and maybe 140 to 170 for a boat.

      VacMaster1991, one of the most important lessons a business owner can learn is to make more money on the same effort, ie charge a higher price. The next most important lesson is to find a good customer. A customer who appreciates your expertise and pays accordingly. A cheap customer is pretty much never an appreciative one, and can almost be garaunteed a pain in the ass. Why spend more time cleaning more boats for the same weekly profit from more difficult customers?

      a 26' boats gonna take 4-5 hours. Anyone that can spend 80K to 120K on a nice Donzi or mastercraft can make that $400 bucks in about 30 minutes. These are bigboy toys. pay to play brother!

    I'm sorry but if you have to make your living by cleaning people's boats, you really need to stop and think about your life decisions.

      What an un-wise comment! (I'm sorry to say)
      This guy could be a student, an artist, a carreer sportsman, a dedicated father or whatever, and does this work to make a living. Or, he may have plenty of customers and work long days, giving him a possibility to stack up cash and take the winter off or develope a few businesses later. Or go treasure hunting later to find what others could just dream of, those with pre-occupational carreers ;-) Well, life has phases, and I wish you all well in entering a phase where you are more reflective/reflected and get a broader perspective on people, life, work and situations.
      And not the least: learn to respect and understand (If you're 15-17 years old, you're excused and will learn more about life later. Look forward to it!).
