    After using super degreaser, what product(s) do you use to protect the seats going forward from UV, sunscreen, future dirt etc?

  • @MrJeepsterman
    @MrJeepsterman 5 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    pretty sure that was not an accurate 4:1 ratio. you would only need to fill the bottle with degreaser to the next line above the 4

    I drank the koolaid and bought this Super Degreaser. Tried different mixtures and found that Dawn dish soap worked better. Waste of money.

    the magic eraser is abrasive and will take thin shiny layer off vinyl.

    Have you encountered orange stains left from the cover on the seats of a boat and if so can it be fixed.

    Boat detailing can be done by yourself or better yet - by a professional. A lot of boat owners prefer to hire a professional to perform boat detailing for various reasons. One major reason would be it’s time consuming. Another good reason is that most boat resale value actually decreases because its owners don’t know how to properly care for it.

    I have a 1980 VIP. I was told the fabric was Naugahyde. What do you know about this material? The seats are still in good condition

    I would never use a scratch pad vinyl... All you need is some Spray Nine and a magic eraser.

    • @wilson3032
      @wilson3032 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used Spray Nine and wiped off almost immediately. Yellowed one of my seats. Beware.

    Mr Clean magic erasers work well for this as well. Really brightens vinyl upholstery as well as fiberglass.

    • @themobileboatguys6186
      @themobileboatguys6186 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Magic Erasers aren't good for fiberglass surface, especially on finished product because its abrasive all you are doing is scratching the surface and in the right light you will be able to see where you where rubbing with the Magic Eraser and then have to correct the surface. But yes in a sense you are right they will remove stuff from gel-coat surfaces.

    You CANNOT let Super Degreaser dry on the surface, it must be rinsed off! This is stated right on the bottle. Come on man, really?

    Good video for beginners, but you need to be careful next to any stitching when you use a brush. You can break the stitching or create little fuzzes. If anything sometimes little color can be pulled from the clean and bleed into the stitches.

    • @autofetishdetail
      @autofetishdetail  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      John O'Connor Valid points, although some people enjoy that extra tickle those little fuzzes create.

      hahaha :) Very true! Just for the amateurs that view this they should brush with care over. Love the Meg's APC though!

    What do you use afterwards to condition/protect the Vinyl especially from sun after you've cleaned it?

    • @rippinbass9713
      @rippinbass9713 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are not supposed to let Super Degreaser dry on any surface. It must be rinsed off. It says this right on the bottle.

    Hello, where can we buy the cleaning supplies?

  • @Danielaragon
    @Danielaragon 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've always understood that you fill the bottle to just below the "ribbed" grip part for correct dilution ratio.

    • @autofetishdetail
      @autofetishdetail  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check it out yourself in a separate measuring cup and report your findings back to us...
      So by "correct" you mean 4:1 or do you mean 10:1 regarding the ribbed part of the bottle?

    can i use car wash to wash a boat

    • @Tomberland84
      @Tomberland84 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fred Solomon Yes you can. Boat shampoo is more expensive eventhough it contains the same stuff in the bottle than car shampoo. Only the picture on the bottle/can is different and the price.

    • @samsen201
      @samsen201 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anything with "Marine" name added to it, has a magical multiply effect by 2 to 4, on price tag! Go figure out why!!

  • @sumpunkster

    Why not just use a steamer?

    • @dantezambrano1772
      @dantezambrano1772 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steamer gets the Vinyl super dry, its actually really bad for it.
