Nice vid mate. Enjoyed the car doing a wall of death across the tree at 4:16! You know I'm always dead confused when people talk about motor turns. I know that more turns is lower speed and higher torque and the opposite is true for fewer turns but by how much? I think I understand kv numbers on brushless motors and you just multiply the volts by the kv to get rpm. Also I'm not sure if it's just the slightly higher voltage of a lipo battery gives the higher top speed or if there is more to it than that. I know that lipos give you better acceleration. One thing those little GPS things don't give (I think) is the acceleration. Would give another level of nerdiness to these vids. I might do a video to compare nimh & lipo for top speed in the same car. Anyway hope your holiday is going well. We are just back from the steam fair and sorting out the camping gear. You are right about the motor turns, although more turns doesn't always mean more torque, but definitely less revs. I think it also matters how many poles the motor has, just to make it all a little more confusing! Pretty good ..Think my brushed one does about 30 plus or so but on a 3s lipo lol..I run that same 13.5 motor and Tamiya ESC in my HSP/Helion truck and on 3s with ESC fan it does wheelies down the whole block! Lol
Thanks Phil! Yeah, I watched your videos of those runs, your DT03 runs sweet with those mods. This is about as good as I can get with this setup and on NiMh, but it's still a blast on the rough stuff, as you know the chassis is a peach. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the comment Bro! :)
@@MarkBryanRC A 2s would wake it up but that's darn good on a NiMh for sure..Gtta love this chassis ..Handles good and very strong..Well done brother.
Cheers Bro! After running this baby into a tree at full speed and the bashing I gave it over the stones on a beach, I gotta agree with you, it really is strong!
@@MarkBryanRC Yes sir and many nice hop ups if ever something does break lol..I have jumped mine thousands of times and slid into the curb at full speed and zero breaks!! (Knock on wood) Lol
Cheers man, fingers crossed for no breakages! :-))
You should try to beat Stuart McMillan 63 miles an hour with the DT 03.
Haha! No chance Brad! These 2 buggies are well fast enough for me and Rob! The speed test is only for reference, the buggies are meant for having fun with in the dirt, even though they do resemble dragsters a little! Have a good weekend, Brad! :-)
Is it Gyro day ???.
Hi there! Sorry, but I don't understand!!! :)
Yo Dude, I was just driving my DT-03 on a carpet track.
yo Bro! Sounds like fun dude - have a great weekend! :-)
@@MarkBryanRC Well, it was, but it wasn't...
I need better front tires and a new shock /camber setup
Hmmm... never mind, easily sorted my friend!
@@MarkBryanRC Well, yes.
Woah... This moment when you see all the pros with their 6,5t motors and 2s lipo and their team associated rc10 b6.1's and your just driving a tamiya dt 03 with the Standart silver can motor and A NIMH Battery.
LOL. This moment was funny.
But hey, I've never been on a track before and I don't have so much money for the hobby
Haha! I would love to see that moment at the track with the "pros"!!!! Never mind, the DT03 is still a great buggy and above all, fun to drive - that is what the hobby is all about, even the pros should appreciate that!
👌🏽
Cheers Chris! Appreciated! :-)
What battery? You should easily hit better speeds with a proper setup.
Hi Francis! Only a NiMh battery I'm afraid - I know it would be a rocket on 3s! But it sure is fast enough for my driving skills on the dirt, where it really belongs! Thanks very much for watching and leaving a comment, appreciated!!! :-)
@@MarkBryanRC for off road bashing on a smaller circuit this indeed is more than enough. Recently switched from 19t to 17t on my dt-03 because it was too fast for the back yard.
Sounds like a wise move. Francis! Too easy to smash the car in a small space at high speed! Yeah, I generally run my DT on a small dirt track too. :)
Man that DT-03 is as slow as hell!!!
Well I know it ain't the fastest RC out there Ralph!!!
Nice but too slow
Thanks, yeah they are very nice! I'm happy with the speeds, ideal for where we drive them. Cheers!
