    Wonder whether putting together Tamiya kits in factory for a living equates to heaven or hell.

      Yeah, me too. I previously built two DF-03’s. Great build experience.

    Seems good, except for those dang ol' bushings. Do you plan on replacing theme with ball bearings?

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Nick! Yeah, I even plan to do a video with it (will perhaps be helpful to the youngsters/beginners). With the DT buggies I usually also change out the alloy pinion gear before it messes everything up 😀

  • @BasBoyRC
    @BasBoyRC ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yuck plastic bushings, but like where they make the manual for direct set-up. I do find it funny they add oil shocks and you do the bearings.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ha ha, yeah, Tamiya works in mysterious ways ☺️ Wonder if there will ever come a time where they use ball bearings in all kits/cars. I hope so.

    • @BasBoyRC
      @BasBoyRC ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NordicRC The thing is they could buy in bulk and put them in as they will get them cheap. When I started bearings were very expensive, only started using once they were down in price.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BasBoyRC Yeah, even most Chinese ‘cheap brands’ use bearings these days.

    I get to keep the motor stock or you can go into something else? just bought those tools are.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, bearings and a steel pinion and you’re good to go with other motors

    Doesn't it come with a full manual to undo the whole kit?

    • @NordicRC

      Yeah, shown in the video.

  • @bradkalman2353

    This isn't the new almost ready to runs is it? That's an old ESC so this kit is old?

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it’s an artr… or in Tamiya-words: an X-SA. I was wondering about the old TEU too included here. Maybe they had some leftovers 😅

  • @bradkalman2353
    @bradkalman2353 ปีที่แล้ว

    Those are oil-filled dampers right?

  • @SpeccyMan

    It amuses me that Tamiya call these expert builds when they don't use metal bearings. All "expert" hobbyists know the first thing you do is chuck away the bushings and install proper bearings. Hilarious. 🤣
    They almost have the right idea. I love building these kits but I really do not like the painting and decal part at all. So for me the best thing would be a disassembled normal kit but with pre-painted and decaled body and spoiler. Then I would be very happy indeed.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah! Agree! I think the real expert things about the XB and X-SA are the bodies (at least the polycarbonate). Perfect paint and decal jobs 😊
