Nice videos Ben, I find your explanations very clear and informative. I've got some good books on meditation but there is something about hearing explanations by someone from my country that really makes it clear. In another video you mention that guided meditation is not the best way. I found it helped in the early stages, especially to relax me, but I do think you are correct that we should rely on our own mind and not someone guiding. Best regards Ben and appreciate your vids

Super videos, Ben. Just found your work and I'm doing a deep dive going through everything you say. Good stuff! Very interested in having an OBE, been using the HemiSync tapes with little success, neat visuals, sounds, etc. Thanks for this!

5:15 so true man, interrupting that aspect that is not really our true self. And that judgment of others really is unhappiness with self. Most people spend our whole lives living in that pattern of programming (and distraction)

Excellent Ben. I started watching a few of your videos. Very informative. 1) I’m hearing experts referring to the inner child - is this subconscious mind? 2) when I sit to meditate I am feeling involuntary movements .. spinning my head, my torso , face muscles stretch and body twists. Have you seen or heard of such experiences? What’s causing those?

Thank you. Yes the subconscious mind is where lots of our learnt behaviours, thought patterns etc are stored. The inner child is within the subconscious mind and can cause many of our current behaviours.
With regards to the spinning feeling - there is energy that moves up two energy channels within the subtle body when we meditate (these are called Ida & Pingala). For some people, like yourself, when they meditate this energy moves quickly up these channels which causes this spinning sensation. Depending on how open minded you are, this may sound totally ridiculous, but it is the truth😅

Bit late to the party but i found switching from breath to mantra to give me way more deeper meditations. Yet i wonder, which is preferrable... the one that leads you deeper or the one, that trains your focus?

It’s a great point you make, my personal opinion is that they ultimately take you to the same place eventually, however I think a focussed attention meditation is more diverse in its benefits. It can sometimes take a little more practice to get deep (although not for everyone), but the foundation you build getting to that place is amazingly beneficial in the long term. The multitude of benefits transfer over so well into daily life. Having said all of this, mantra meditations are also brilliant and word wonders for lots of people.

@@bensmithreal Thanks Ben - i might try to initiate my meditation with mantra and switch inbetween to breath and train my focus... best of both worlds :)

@vanleen If you don’t mind me giving you uninvited advice, it’s best to stick with one or the other during the meditation if you can. An alternative could be to work with the mantra for a few months and then move onto a focussed attention method for several months…
Or, have one meditation session per week which is just focus based.
Just a few bits for you to think about🙏

@@bensmithrealThanks Ben, i take any advice at any time - grateful for any guidance. Years ago i got stuck on mantra meditation, i guess there was a blockage that i never overcame. Now going deep again could mean facing it again but this time i need to push through. After i went deep with mantra yesterday, i dreamed of visited my wife the first time… it was so physical! But the moment she looked at me, i was gone. And then i dreamed of leading an armee and there were lots of small fights but i ordered to draw my fighters together for one massive attack… i feel like its the „fight“ against my ego. Wish me luck bro 😂
