Thank you for the shout-out to ConFurence. I helped organize it ^^ Talking about fannish community households, one should always mention "Slan Shacks". In the popular SF novel "Slan" by A.E. Van Vogt, the persecuted mutants known as Slan would gather together in "Slan Shacks" to hide out and support one another against the masses of "regular humanity". In the 60's and 70's many SF fannish group households started popping up, and many of them referred to themselves as "Slan Shacks".
Hi, I'm a ferret and pretty much exclusively a MUCK fur. I shift back and forth between feral (for light-hearted, silly mischief making) and anthro forms (when I'm in the mood to be more serious). My home MUCK is an absolutely necessary part of my daily activities whether I need a temporary escape from the BS of reality, emotional support following a traumatic event or just the company of fellow furs that I have grown to love over the years. Only a handful of years, I came late to furrydom, having spent years playing D&D as anything but humanoid, and am currently in my 4th decade of life. I feel like I'm my best self there, and yes I tend to overshare but no one seems to mind. Furry=
i love the fact that for the most part we are very supportive community weather that is towards each other or to other people and charities being able to have a fursona allows furs to open emotionally in the community and be able to express themselves through artwork, performing art, media and literature this also gives other in are community to lend a paw if someone need it help out in tough situations and well make others feel good about themselves we often look out for one another weather we know them or not
Hi! Love your show! I've been interested in furries (and am probably becoming one) for quite some time and I just binge watched your episodes. The content you provide is very insightful and has helped me articulate some concepts that I have been having trouble finding discussion about. Keep it up can't wait for more episodes. I am an avid musician and it would be fun to see an episode dedicated to the furry music scene!
Definitely enjoying the series, but this one was exceptionally well done. Excellent job! Loved hearing about convention history. For me, I'm a furry artist, which is also something I left my job of 10 years for in 2016. I'm very social, both in rl and online, and I go to events and I host art gatherings with models. All that feels like it's just the tip, there's much more to enjoy! =3
what i do to be furry, i love meeting new people, even if its a furmeet 2 hrs away, and since i gone to my first con this last year, i plan on going to more. i get excited meeting furries that live close to me, so far none in my small town of 350 people, but some live close to bout 15 miles away. most of all just thinking of new characters, writing back stories of all my characters etc. the furry fandom is the best thing i ever discovered.
I first started watching you thinking you were some big youtuber with like 500,000 subscribers and then I was you weren't? I thought it was really odd since your videos are so good hah-
Really good stuff. A fur's first real-life experience is always going to be eye-opening. Personally, I feel like I only 'really' started to be furry after my first con. That was when I understood what it's all about.
As a furry, I roleplay, I'm working on a visual novel project, I've created a deep, rich lore surrounding my fursona, I go fo furmeets in a town an hour's drive away from me once a month, and I go to Furpocalypse. I'm also in the process of making glove-sleeve arms/paws for the rest of my partial.
makin pichers of my world. i too lived in a furry household. for me it was just a better and cheaper place to live then where i had been. i'm by myself again, as that's how i tend to be, and i'm fine with that. we were mostly all different kinds of cats. i think i find nerdy niche communities more gratifying then mundania in general. even as a grey muzzle with everyone i know half my age. i was in (literary) science fiction in the 80s and the internet in the 90s. none of my inflences came from major media. or none of my major ones anyway. not saying there haven't been things i liked in media too. but more after the fact then before.
Well, aside from a couple of trips to Anthrocon, I tend to stick to the more local stuff: in particular *Furpocalypse*, the successor to *FurFright*. Otherwise, I just get my furry fix on the web. Looking forward to your next installment! 7@=e
I found interest in fursuits. After that I found out from a friend of mind that they are furry related. I started considering myself a furry and then found out at the time that four of my friends (at that time) are furries. The next year I met two more furries and the year after that, one more. Mainly I draw.
One of my dreams was to live in a gated community or own an apartment complex made for furries. We could do monthly furry parties just like PS in Garden Grove but bigger and live the way we want to live without the weird looks from our neighbors.
now there are a lot of horror stories about furry roommates, essentially furries who are bad tenants, either not paying rent or just being pains. and often getiing more or less away with it. because theese safe spaces are made. another thing is living with all furries alot of your personal boundaries are broken. you don't get to have much to yourself. anyways for defining a furry, it's someone who more or less actively interact with other furries. be it chatrooms, cons friends etc. and then of course defining themselves as furries is a big part aswell.
Bronies are still not furries. They're a separate fandom. EDIT: while it's "common" for you, houses of furries are definitely not common outside of the developed countries. XD So no, not that common.
"It's ok to like things!" People need to learn this haha.✌
Agreed. Am a furry, brony and like some animes.

I'd like to see an episode about why people choose certain fursonas, or at least the theory of it - must be a reason canines are so popular!
Just found this channel last week, and its great! have another sub.
That Mulder pic was a nice touch.
Love this episode

Are you all the way furry yet?
I got my first exposure through online artwork, but the first convention I went to really changed my perspective on it. Conventions are amazing :)
Could you imagine a FURRY VILLAGE!?
Oh, Zootopia nm.
It's truly sad that I actually want that to be a thing.
Only a village? Why not a kingdom?
yasss
If enough came together, raised enough money to buy or build an apartment complex, I'm sure it could happen.
Mirage Gaocariomon we already have this huge charity thing, so maybe.

3:06 I was born that year. God I'm old...
Well I draw and are active with the online community and I've made my first furry friend in real life. It definitely helps with my confidence
What do I do? I just chat online and look at art. I'm hoping to eventually get into a real life community someday though.
what originaly got me intrested was the artwork, then i found a furry podcast (the furcast) that just pulled me into the community and never let go.
I thought Culturally F'd meant Culturally F*ck'd, not Furry'd XD
Same.
Slushie Furrz same lol
Same actually xD
Welp, looks like I'm moving to Toronto :D
I used to not chat alot. ever since I met the people I'm going to Califur I have been chatting with them on telegram almost everyday.
i got an ad with a ufo in it before the video lmao

Draw, Write Stories, hang out online with other furs.
HOLY CRAP SCI FI CONVENTIONS PRETTY MUCH ORIGINATED FROM MY STATE
this is why jersey pride is so fierce
*THAT"S NOT CAKE*
Well that made my day xD
Fellow Ontarian! Like if you're in Ontario!
“They only bite if I forget to feed them”
So there are basically no furries in my local area. I am mostly furry online and in my head, but I do wear a collar pretty much 24/7.
Well, aside from a couple of trips to Anthrocon, I tend to stick to the more local stuff: in particular *Furpocalypse*, the successor to *FurFright*. Otherwise, I just get my furry fix on the web.

Lucius1958 Thanks! Just to let you know there won't be a new episode next week as I will be away at Camp Feral. But stay tuned for the week after!
I draw and occasionally hangout with other furries.
I met one furry in real life. I had known another before, before I knew what "Furries" were. I'm much happier knowing I'm not insane.
I found interest in fursuits. After that I found out from a friend of mind that they are furry related. I started considering myself a furry and then found out at the time that four of my friends (at that time) are furries. The next year I met two more furries and the year after that, one more. woot, Toronto :D I didn't know there was so much furries in Toronto.
I wouldn't mind moving in with a furry friend of mine. But I'd rather get to know them better before deciding to share an apartment.
Are those two fur-friendly people your parents? Don't lie.
i draw and do my research here and there about some furry stuff (species or furry news and history)
One of my dreams was to live in a gated community or own an apartment complex made for furries. We could do monthly furry parties just like PS in Garden Grove but bigger and live the way we want to live without the weird looks from our neighbors.
0:06 MULDER!!!
I would consider myself a furry, I really want to go to a convention but don't have the money. Probably gonna save up.

I collect furry media is what I do to be furry. Comics and movies mostly, looking into novels too.
'Who only bite if I forget to feed them' that's how the furry world works, we are in reverse
Bronies are still not furries. They're a separate fandom.

So no, not that common.
