They have their elders in the middle instead of the end so the elders are protected. And despite what you think, Omegas are actually really important. It's a shame people are now trying to "frame" wolves just to get them off the endangered list.
Well, I've loved Wolves since I even knew what they were, when I was about three years old. Then I was about five or six when I first discovered werewolves, and I loved them for the longest time, I mean I still do but back then was before I was a Furry. I am loyal and defensive over those I love and am close to, I love the sound of wolf howling, I'm honestly more productive at night (which I am writing this comment at), I love working with and guiding a team, and I can be pretty playful as well! To me I guess, my personality kind of just reflects that of a wolf. And I'm not talking about those "lone wolf" people, that's not a true wolf, heh heh. In all honesty, the wolf has always been a big symbol for my life, and I've always admired them in more ways than one. I discovered and joined the Furry fandom when I was about twelve years old (that little kid fur), and I found SO many people just like me! I was happy, and it gave so much more meaning to my life, believe it or not. Now here I am, several years later, still a proud wolf Furry. So now I'll give you my motto... Stay Furry, Stay Happy!
I found your channel on FAF yesterday and I've already binge watched all your uploads while making progress in my Sci-Fi novel. I want to say thank you not only for giving me something to help keep me productive, but for helping me learn a lot about the fandom. I plan on watching your videos for a long time to come. Wolves like humans are pack animals so culturally we share many similarities, the most functional of which is cooperative hunting and guarding behaviors.
Correction: Fenris doesnt eat the moon in norse mythology. Skoll & Hati hunt down sun & moon respectivly and will eat them to cause the end of the world. Fenris is the wolf that is tied up by a simple rope and ate the hand of one of the gods, if he gets loose, he will eat Odin himself.
Just a small nitpick: you referred to house dogs as "canis familiaris", which is the genus and subspecies. However, it follows the binomial nomenclature order to say the more full name of "canis lupus familiaris", the genus, species, and subspecies. Still a great episode though, I really enjoyed it.
My fursona is mostly wolf because wolves are a species to which I feel a deep spiritual connection. Plus, I'm a wolf at heart, too, embodying all the best qualities of what i believe to be the most beautiful creature on earth.

Originally, wolf packs likely followed human bands, and may even have taken advantage of human presence in hunting: prey that is attacked from two different sides may be more confused and easier to kill. As for domestication, the individuals most likely to approach human camps would have been the lower-status Omegas: consigned to the fringes of the pack, they would have gone for the easier pickings. Also, due to their position of inferiority, they would have been more submissive and easier to tame. But by the time humans had transformed these into their own dogs, and began managing the herds instead of simply hunting them, wolves started to be seen more as adversaries than as fellow hunters. When the idea of private property (or at least tribal property) became established, wolves became "Enemies of the People", and identified with the forces of darkness. 7@=e
To me, wolves are just wild dogs, friendly, wise, cunning, and yet kept to themselves. They like people but only the ones they are close to, they have gun but know to put duties first. I find myself often relating to that kind of wild dog, but being slightly off somehow. That's why my fursona's a tan wolf.
I am a wolf, a king who protects his people, lending an ear or hand when they are in need. Loyal, steadfast, understanding yet fierce when I protect those in my charge. I have always seen wolves as beautiful and majestic creatures that did not deserve the hate levied at them. I not only watched the documentaries, I even spent time with real wolves, although they were at a zoo and a sanctuary respectively (Zoo in the Park in Springfield, MA and Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Sanctuary) At the sanctuary, back when I was stationed at Fort Carson, I paid $100 to get to go into one of the enclosures with a pair of wolves inside and the keepers. They were very attention-loving! And at the Zoo in the Park, I did a charity run there along with many others to raise money to expand the wolf enclosure. I got to meet with a white female wolf. I was able to not only pet her, but when I sat down on the ground, she rolled over and laid her head on my lap, just looking up at me with her tail wagging.I just gave her plenty of pettings and even a cuddle!
I would like to add, another reason that we domesticated wolves was because they are the only animal with stamina to match ours. When we cut open the stomachs of our ancestors, we had meat in our diet, even before we had stone tools. How did we get it? We literally walked our prey to exhaustion. So for example, when you walk up on a deer, it will run for a mile. If you fallow it, it will get scared again, but this time will only run for 3/4 of a mile. And so on. Back to the point, canines are the only animal capable of following prey in this manor, and this tactic is used today by some hunters.

I've always loved the primal lore of the king of canines and from a young age have been fascenated in the possiblity of becoming one, or transforming into a similar hybrid. My fascination was revitalized when I found out about the fandom when I was just 12. I couldn't stop thinking about it, and when it came down to me choosing a fursona, there wasn't any doubt in my mind. But since hearing that they are an overpopulated bunch in the community I've thought of having it as my main 'sona, and using an alternate scalie persona to venture out of my bounderies at times in roleplay. Though I do use an alternate fursona at times, my first and most dear character, Wolvy will always have a place in my heart.~

I'm not a wolf, I'm just a foolish human that some how found himself in the middle of Russia some where in Siberia and there are wolves all around me, they think that I'm lunch and they howl calling for the rest of the pack slowly biding their time till I become tired, I light a fire as the day slowly becomes night, it's cold and the moon is out, I no longer see them but I still here them as they howl getting excited for the kill, my death, but I remain resolutely, I remain strong, no mere animal shall best me, I am man, the most dangerous even without a gun or a bladed weapon I have the desire the live and perseverance, they howl some more and my sanity breaks and I shout at the top of my lungs "if you want me, then come and get some, I'm right here, hahahahahahaha"
Actually a decent video. I think there always something to be said of story's of overcoming or appreciation of beauty in things other people might not appreciate. but I think part of the reason for furrys is that there like the dogs at our side but wild and free and that has a lot of appeal to people. (also wolf children would also be a good movie reference too) Both my character are basted on scavengers and I think it a very similar appeal of the underdog so to speak. though for me it based on the struggle and hard work to get past in life. If I were to give a light critic on your videos in general I might suggest working on your jokes a bit more, the impressions and puns don't hit home runs and could use some work. I do however appreciate the research put into these on history mythology and so on. those are topics I'm quite passionate on too and it all to easy to miss inform.
