this is the most reliable video I found on the web to share to students. Finally, instead of an ego demonstration, this is rather making ashtanga accessible to everybody. Many thanks Pranidhi
I wake up at 5 am every morning to have some me-time before the hustle and the bustle of the day and this is my absolute fav. go-to yoga class. I do it daily and absolutely love it! Thanks for brightening up my day everyday!
I'm sure you'll find that the more you practice, the more comfortable the sequence will become. You'll need to reference the video less and you'll be able to connect more deeply with the breath. Keep up the good work, and do come visit if you pass through LA!
I've been following this routine almost every weekday since lockdown began (in Ireland). It's releasing years-old tension/blockages from areas of my body that have been holding on to things that are now long-passed. Thank you so, so much.
I love this video! I’ve been doing it off and on for the last five years. When I have more time I do the longer 45-60 minute series. Thank you so much for creating this awesome content!
Thank you very much for this video. My wife and I are back into practising almost daily, albeit only for 20 minutes. We feel better physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually and it weaves us closer together when we practise together. Thank you.
***** Thank you for sharing this with me, Michael. I'm touched to hear that the practice of yoga is enriching your married life. Sending love and gratitude :)

For various reasons I've neglected my practice the past two years. This is the perfect duration and pace for me to return to the yoga I've been missing. Also: I love the fact that you have no music in your video - it allows me to select and play my own, or none. Your personality is very inviting and encouraging! I will do this practice for a few weeks, then move on to your 45-60 minute practice. Thank you!
Beautiful and sweet for when I am not in the mood for a full practice or as today I couldn’t decide between a run and ashtanga. This way I can do both. Thank you!
This video has changed my life. I'm 56 and working out was leaving me too stiff but I now do this workout 4x a week and I feel so much better. And I can go to the gym etc much more than before. I've made a couple of changes which, if this is the only yoga you do I think help a bit. 1) chair pose I hold 5 breaths 2) warrior 1 5 breaths each side 3) triangle 10 breaths each side and I remain in the basic pose. 4) ditto for extended side angle. 10 breaths and I'm not flexible enough for the twist 5) just before savasana i do 10 breaths of fish pose which helps my neck like mad. But I basically follow the sequence. It took me a while but now most of the time I breath correctly too. I love it. 20 mins 4x a week and it has made all the difference. Thanks so much for posting it.
I practice at my local shala now between 4 to 6 days a week, depending on work. I am about to leave for some vacation and I don't want to stop practicing for 10 days, I will try to do this sequence every day to keep the muscles working - and my mind, too. Thanks a lot for this, Pranidhi.
Thank you so much. I started practicing ashtanga about a month ago and I do it twice a week at a yoga studio but I also wondered what I could do at home.
Thank you very much for this intro to the primary series. I wish more teachers would take the time to go over the opening mantra like you did. The peace of the practice is a little bit faster than I thought, but I guess student need to have a solid idea of the each asana before starting this secuence. Also in my own practice I do 8 to 10 breaths because it takes a bit longer to start feeling confortable in each pose.
Thank you very much Pranidhi Varshney for making this video it has been vital for me in my transformation from a fat and depressed man to a healthy and happy thin man that's practising Yoga, meditation and training for my first marathon this summer. Thanks again!
What a perfect video that I was searching for. Very nice. For beginers, who are just searching for nice video to start. You are at right place. No need to further search more. Just begin.
This is a great 20 min Ashtanga Yoga video for beginners, the best I have found on youtube. I started completing this video once every now and then, to once a week, to a few times a week and, after feeling a shift and calm in my mental clarity and have incorporated it into my daily morning routine. I have also started doing your 45 minute video for beginners on one of the days a week - much more challenging, but am excited for the progression. Many blessings for you Pranidhi!
Happy to hear about your journey Angela! We also now have a full primary video up: th-cam.com/video/CkAaGmNyXNA/w-d-xo.html Warm wishes for continued practice!
Ma'am Pranidhi, you paved my way to Ashtanga! I do Half Primay weekly in the studio but not at home. I am unable to motive myself. Then I found this 20 min version, with Shloka! I love it and I do it myself. The next step is to do it from memory.
Thank you pranidhi. I have been following this particular sequence for over 2 years now through this video. I always come out has peaceful yet energetic person. Thanks a lot for making this. Blessings ❣️
Thank you for this video. I'm a little out of practice and this is a perfect video to warm me up to primary series again. It's been so difficult to find studios near me that teach ashtanga, so I am very greatful to have found this.
trying this for a couple of days now....im a novice at yoga in general, but the sequence starts to stick in my head now...as is the breathing...(I don't say anything about my technique, undoutedly lots of work there also)....but I want to say im totally enjoying this.........thank you for sharing this video.....xxx
Thank you so much for this video. I missed my ashtanga practice! Grateful for your teaching and generosity, the Internet, my phone, wifi...thank you thank you.
thank you so much. I really love the Ashtanga class I have been going to in my home, however I am having trouble getting to it, and need to cultivate a home practice. This is perfect. I also very much appreciate your break down of the opening mantra. It has been very helpful, and will help me accelerate my learning it greatly.
Thank you so much for this! I discovered the 45-60 minute practice video a few years ago but Im weak (mostly mentally but also physically) and cant do the whole thing. Hopefully I can keep this one up for a few weeks and progress!
This is a great little video, easy to follow with clear narration. The different camera angles also help, other videos of a similar nature tend to be filmed from the one perspective. Highly recommended
Thanks for sharing. I studied with two teachers and when I moved, I wasn't able to find a teacher. I'm glad you shared this. Easy to follow and build on my own practice.
Thank you so much for this! I took an intermediate yoga class in my last semester of college and a major pillar of our class was an abbreviated Ashtanga sequence very similar to the one in this video. I am so excited to get back into a normal practice and hope to make this sequence apart of my daily routine!
thank you very much for this. i just do yoga at home and your video is very helpful. they looked easy but hard to execute. more practice for me i guess. kudos to you!
Hi Pranati I have some information about ashtanga yoga there is Pranayama meditation is important for children's and simple asanas wonderful teaching nice to see
Thanks for your feedback Ryan, and I do understand your frustration. This video was intended for practitioners who have a fair amount of familiarity with the ashtanga method, but need some guidance on how to incorporate a shorter practice into their lives when they're pressed for time. For more detailed instructon, please watch my tutorials. Here's the one on Surya Namaskar A: th-cam.com/video/rJN8HrxrGC4/w-d-xo.html That will help with the beginning.
Pranidhi Varshney I appreciate that the students are "normal" people. It reminds me to honor my body''s strengths and limitations, appreciating its uniqueness instead of perfecting an asana to look good and impress people.
I was wondering whether there is somewhere that has the opening and closing mantras written? I want to correct my pronunciation and seeing it written would help me a lot. Thank you so much for this video, a friend showed me three years ago and this is now my go-to yoga practice at home. 💚💚💚
this is the most reliable video I found on the web to share to students. Finally, instead of an ego demonstration, this is rather making ashtanga accessible to everybody. Many thanks Pranidhi

Thank you for a yoga video without the non-stop talking. It is so much easier to relax and focus on the pose without all the talking.
