Ms. Varshney shows not just a well based and informed Ashtanga Modified Class BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY she shows Women of various ages, BODY TYPES and abilities. Too many Ashtanga Vid's show bendy 20 something year olds. Guess what Yoga World, there are many who are well into their 50's and beyond who are practicing Ashtanga. There are many like Elizabeth who are more stout in stature. Each body type has its natural strengths and weakness's. This is a joy to watch. Inspiring. THANK YOU.
+Phoebe Alexis Thank you Phoebe! I consider it my responsibility to showcase the diverse range of bodies that practice this method. Thank you for noticing and voicing your appreciation :)
Very good sequence, thank you so much for this video! And ladies here OMG! finally, somebody who shows ladies who are not models from magazines "17 y.o. cosmo style", but real women, like us! :) thank you!
Thanks to Pranidhi and her real life students. I really liked this class. There were enough instructions that it was clear what to do but not so much that it was distracting. Pranidhi's voice is soothing especially when she counts. I was better able to get into my breath and body without music.
I've been using this as a morning practice for many weeks now. Thank you for including the modifications that Elizabeth uses - those have been especially helpful to me as a beginner. I look forward to future videos.
Tom Edds Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Tom. I will make sure to include similar modifications in future videos, and I hope your practice continues to flourish :)
I'm a returning ashtanga yoga practitioner that needed a gentler practice to help with a tight (recovering/injured) shoulder. Your video has been easing me back into a steady practice. I also found it helpful in improving my climbing and in preventing further running related injuries. Thank you so much for making this video and I hope you keep it coming!
This was really wonderful! I'm a Hatha Yoga teacher moving into an Ashtanga practice and I've taken in-person classes as well as other TH-cam classes to supplement and this one by far was the best for those needing a few more steps to safely move into the Ashtanga practice. I was also trained in India, so it was nice to hear the chanting done so clearly...it gave me a brief flashback to my teachers in India. Thank you so much. Superb! Hari Om
Thanks Pranidhi Varshney , your video has helped me a lot releasing stress, getting stronger and energizing. I can't do it all yet, but I guess with I will be able to master the moves.
Thank you so much, I've started your 25 min ashtanga video and am eager to do this one when I have more time. I live in Buenos Aires, and assist an Iyengar class Fridays. But the rest of the week I feel the need for more yoga, and ashtanga has always been amazing. So I agree with others here, that shows real bodies that train and can achieve postures with time and dedication.. Other asthanga videos are incredibly difficult and for people who are advanced, but for the rest of us: We need yoga to strengthen our bodies, help our internal aches, and free our soul I have began this path through your videos so keep them coming!!!
I'm a returning ashtanga practitioner and this video was very helpful. I felt so comfortable, and even though I also felt out of practice, your director was completely familiar and easy to follow. Thanks for such a wonderful video.
Getting back into Ashtanga after many years of being away from it. Just finished your 60 min class - it was hard for me but it felt so good :) Really appreciate the modifications you had with Elizabeth. Can't wait to do it all again tomorrow!! Thank you for a wonderful class.
My joy to be of service to as you re-enter the practice! If you feel ready, our full primary video is now up :) th-cam.com/video/CkAaGmNyXNA/w-d-xo.html
Thanks a lot for posting these videos! They have now become part of my morning routine. I grew up in India and although yoga is popular there very few people know about Ashtanga yoga. Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks Pranidhi, you are a good & intelligent instructor. I have learnt so much from your 15-20 minute home practice video & this one modified video is very much helpful to me & to all.
Dear Pranidhi, thank you so much for this beautiful video. I have been doing this from past one month, everyday :) My life is changing. Sending you loads of love and laughter.
I really like the rhythm of your instructions. I have started practicing ashtanga yoga only a few months ago. I have to do variations for a lot of the poses but my progress is great and I enjoy the benefits enormously. Your chanting is awesome by the way. Will be back soon.
Really enjoying your videos. Waned to get back into ashtanga but no teachers here. The different length practices are great, plus the age range. And the mantra is so clear, I'm actually picking it up!! Huge thanks.
did ur sequence today pranidhi... u reminded my class. good sequence.. do more videos on diff... weight loss, kriyas, breathing tech... vinyasa seq for weight loss... gudos to ur team
Thank you for the video! I was an avid yoga practitioner but after my second child it was hard. I have used your video to get back into it. I am flexible but lack the stamina as I have gotten through only 40 minutes or so. Hoping to build more stamina over time. I've been doing it 6 days a week for the past month or so.
I very thankfull with this practice, was great i have been practice ashtanga but none was like yours, great practice i love about the ritual with the mantras open and close the practice and especial whe you using the sanskrit words to pass asana to asana , this practice make you be (very focus) conect witth ourself ....Namaste ps. Do u have blog or a webside that i can rich u?
Hello pranidhi. I am using this video for my daily practice past few weeks. you are a good teacher. Just a suggestion it would be great if you could display the names of the asanas as you say them so that we can look up and read more about it. Thank you. 🙏🏻
I practice a lot with your 15 mn video and now with this one, nevertheless I was wondering wether you could add some advices as you go along with the poses; that would help a lot, well it would certainly help ME for sure as I have never practiced with a teacher in over a year that I started with Ashtanga Yoga!
lydia VICENZI Thank you for the feedback! I'm happy to hear you've been practicing regularly. I plan to release a video of the full primary series within the next several months and will certainly take your comments into account when I'm filming that one. Keep up your practice :)
Hello Pranidhi, Thanks for the video. Love to follow this video in the morning, in a small group :) a question for you. Do we stop practice during lady's period? or do we stop practice for the first 3 days of the period?
Important Question: Can Ashtanga Yoga be any more modified than this for those of us that may be recovering from injuries or just super stiff? If so, please post those extremely modified poses for those of us who need to take things much more modified! Thank you and this practice is awesome!!!🙏🏽❤️😊
This is a great question Deidra. Yes, there are always ways to modify for injury or limited mobility. To address specific postures, I'll need more information. Email me at practice@yogashalawest.com with more details about your situation and I'd be happy to offer what I can :)
I really like how you you do the call and response for the Ashtanga prayer. Do you think you could put the words of the Ashtanga prayer in the description box? It's hard to make out all of the words and it relieve me from having to open up a separate tab with the words. Thanks!
Hi Pranidhi, I have lost count of how many times I followed your practice: you have been an immense influence on my personal daily routine -- thank you, thank you, thank you! As a small sign of my immense gratitude, I'd like to make a one-time donation, but I'm not a fan of Patreon (which also adds 21% for Belgian VAT). Is there a simple way, e.g. PayPal Donation? (I suspect many folks will also prefer one-time donations as I do)
Hi Patrick! Thank you so much for your generosity. It makes me happy to hear that these videos have been useful for you. You can make a one-time donation by clicking the 'custom contribution' link in our online store: yogashalawest.com/online-store/ Thank you again!
@@PranidhiV Great! I will do so later today -- thanks to you, Pranidhi! (btw, I love your 20-minute practice as well! There is no excuse for not being able to fit it in even on a busy day!)
Hi Pranidhi and thank you for your posts, I used this and the 15-20 min videos as guides when am practicing. Do you also have a full practice video? Thank you and more power to you! Keep posting!

Hey
don't like the jumps between asanas
Just leaving out Vinyasa etc. doesn't make this suitable for beginners!
