    Very cool! Great value for the money. I'm moving into a $400 for a month condo tomorrow in Pattaya. Nothing better than finding lodging for under $500 a month.

      Mike the videos are just a tease. Do yourself a big favor, get out of the recliner, quit watching exploitive news, go on a trip you will not forget. First time can be something more popular like Cancun or Puerto Vallarta where you can get by with English and there are plenty other foreigners. Even Montreal. Go with a friend or group, it's fun to share the discoveries. Foreign countries are very different from the US, but not so different that you can't adjust a little, plenty of comfort and safety!

    That is my favorite apartment in Panama 🇵🇦 ! $400 including WiFi, gas, water and electricity! Most of the apartments are not including electricity because of AC. But this place does! The host & the family are very friendly too. I would prefer the one bedroom apartment but that is fully booked. Maybe we will be back soon 🔜🤪 #bocasdeltoro #panama

    Drone oh yeah..overall production quality has been elevated lately. The content has always been fantastic, regardless of video-audio quality. But NOW you have it all. Slower pans, sharper colors, better editing, sound and now sky shots, Channel was my favorite even before all that. But now a smoother experience.

    Love the Drone Dan, really nice overhead views of the beach... The color of the water and the sand was amazing together... Not to get scientific you could actual see the undertow... It all has to do with the shape of the landscape under the surface waters... What will you guys do next? Include shorty the Terrier, 5555 He really wanted some drone... The cuisine looked delicious. What a laid back atmosphere, not really like most tourist traps...
    Qiangs' beauty, what can be said, it's on all the time... Possibly you could incorporate something like a boardwalk cameo, in some nice fashions, she likes... I think something in saffron color would look amazing, of course it's not a demand, but a request... Maybe include a sunrise or sunset in your video... Would be nice with some music, possibly copy write free, or local music where appropriate...
    Watching you guys having fun during a pandemic, makes me yearn for my Early Retirement, 214 days away... You guys are my go to experts on traveling during retirement...
    Thanks for all you do...

    Hello Dan , now this rental is very good for the lower budget travelers, Air Con and WiFi in the price great, earlier on in many of your vids you covered and showed many great deals like this one , but of late your stay in rentals are much more expensive , forgive me as I'm not wanting to sound negative as I love your channel , but when I first joined your channel you showed and stayed in really great deals that was not hard on the pocket of lower budget travelers in fact you searched and found and stayed in cheaper places , your future vids and rentals are becoming more up graded and costly more looking towards a budget of $1500 to $2000 where before you was $800 to $1200 just an observation but as I said does not help or encourage those on lower stated budgets ,always take care regards to Qiang .

    • @VagabondAwake
      @VagabondAwake  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hear you Mike. The truth is, the last two countries we have visited (DR and Panama) are more expensive so we haven't been able to find cheaper stuff. But people are interested in Panama so we are exploring it even though we will probably be breaking our $1500 USD goals for 2 people in almost every town we have seen so far. Sorry about that.

    A pension of 1,000 dollars or euros every month is similar to that in Germany. $ 400 rent is then too high.

    Dan, a beautiful video as always. I know that the information on entry requirements can change all the time, but it would be very helpful if you would describe your experience as of the time of your arrival. However beautiful the scenery and delicious the food, as a practical matter everything depends on whether or not it is easy to get there. As you know, there are some very beautiful countries describing themselves as ''open'' but making visitors jump through hoops if they want to be there. Lately, Panama has been changing around a variety of other rules not related to the pandemic. Can you perhaps rate the hassle factor to enter when you go places these days?

    I would be concerned about opting to retire in a region at high risk from coastal, riverine & urban flooding, as well as earthquake, volcanic & wildfire threats, & even tsunami inundation. Idyllic 95% of the time maybe, but not sure about escape routes in time of crisis !

      Don't worry, it's 2021 with satellite weather predictions and wildfire monitoring. I experienced the 1976 Guatemalan earthquke that killed 23,000 very sweet people. Avoid places with those huge thigh-curved tiles, they turn into missiles as you flee the quaking building. Social unrest? True friends who care about you will pull you aside and say "It might be better if you say you are Canadian" if you come from USA.

      I think tourists are welcome if there are hotels, and restaurants, Airbnb, menus in English, tour guides, tour boats and buses, souvenir shops.
      What fraction of Panama's economy is tourism? 15%
      How many American expats live in Panama? 20-30,000.

      Bocas is not an undiscovered place. The town has lived on tourism for 20 years.
