Still teasing us it is looking good. You are right about keeping body parts away from anywhere a nail gun might send a nail. I figured that out the first few times i used one when a nails comes out in unexpected places.
Another quality video! I recently bought a trim router for one simple project and now I'm hooked! So many uses! Seeing all that nail gun footage I'm sensing what's going to be next on my purchase list. The summerhouse shed is looking good too. Thanks for sharing!
So satisfying seeing that all come together ... and fit ! Haaaa I could imagine mine being so off ... I would end up with an open roof TEEPEE .. fab job xxxx
If you don't have one already (it seems you don't) I would buy an impact driver in the same make as your other battery powered tools, you can then buy it as a much cheaper "bare" unit with no battery. It will make doing screws much quicker and easier and is very good at getting out hard to release screws and nuts when used with sockets. It will be money very well spent. Keep up the good content!
This is looking great. Just what I was thinking of building but mine would have be a poorer version of this haha. Really keen to see the final result and could you give a rough costing of materials thank you so much.
looking good, and a very nice size shed. the only thing i probably would have done differently is clad the back as well but that`s just my OCD kicking in..lol
Yes, I know what you mean, but seeing as we won't see it, I don't care one little bit 😂 Plus, this was much quicker to to and not worry and slotting them all in property would've been annoying.
Hey Vikkie cool production setup there. Really nice to see mum and dad helping you along the way. By the way would an impact driver be easier with so many screws on the ply. At least I find it a strain using a drill driver. All the best
Nice family project mum's are useful lol cheeky girl, where's the teas mum bacon sandwiches ? No OK. Good video well done from a carpenter's son Look after mum and dad😉👏👏
Thanks. It really is personal preference. It doesn't need it, but we are thinking of insulating it later and lining. It's really just the cost that can add up, depending how far you want to go.
I'll find out the exact cost at the weekend, but I'll tell you straight off, I think DIY sheds are so much better. My Dad's been making bespoke sheds for over 50 years and often 5 a week like this. If you go to a DIY store, they often feel cheap and flimsy and you can push them where they lean. You need to look for bracing on a door too and what thickness studs they use.
Looks really good but I'm confused as I see many videos of osb used on the outside with weather proof sheet then cladding you just put the clad on is this because it's a tongue and groove cladding?
It has a lot of shelter where it is as it's next to a brick wall. But I'll be trying to treat the back of the exposed bit when it's gone pale and it is a pitched roof for rain to drip off away from there.
@@TheCarpentersDaughterUK I've never used SketchUp I don't think but I'll that a go too thanks. Good thing about Fusion is that you can get a bill of materials from it if you name all the timber by the dimensions.

Excellent video and professional too,, but I guess you're dad is a tradesman, as that seemed very obvious on both vids. Well done to you both ...great job !
Here's my full written blogpost for any steps that you may need clarifying :) thecarpentersdaughter.co.uk/woodworking/cladding-shed/

That looks so nice. I really like some of your father's suggestions building it on the side is brilliant.
I'll pass it on 😊

Haha.. it does speed the job up! Flush trim bits are great when the bearing stays put 😂😂
Great job. Yes I had a nail go through my thumb. It is very painful. Again you are such a wonderful daughter. Thanks for sharing this.
Ouch! Hopefully I'll never experience this lol
Looks much more robust than a bought one, nice job whoever ends up buying that bungalow can be happy it was very well renovated
Thanks :)
I'd love that as a workshop haha mint job and your dad is a good grafter and your following in his foot steps 👏👍
Cheers :) I do find it cool learning what he does for a living.

Lol... just alter the base if the panels don't match it? 😊
That looks a very handy saw, think I'll get one.
Great job.
Love the project and can’t wait for next week.
Thanks! And nearly sorted for you 😊
Really good. Can't wait to see the next part.
Thank you ❤
Nice shorts Vicki........and nice work.
lol... hate wearing shorts, but it was way too hot for jeans 😂 And thanks :)
From the middle of California....wonderful!
Thanks! :)
Hello, really useful video, thanks! A bet your neighbours love you with all the noise from the nail gun!😆
Tough 😂 we've all got to renovate and do work on our house some time!
Very talented lady, love all your videos. 🙂
Cheers 😊
Great video, lots of helpful tips. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Glad you found it useful :)
That cladding looks great
Thanks, Matt :)

Yes, I do have an impact driver - but only properly got into using it after this build. You'll see me using my Makita one in the lean to shed :)
I wish you would just stop updating me with this summerhouse.. You are making me so jealous.. seriously good job. Well done 👍👍👍
Sorry 😆 But thank you 😊

This is great - I'm planning something very similar but can I ask why you didn't line the framing before cladding the outside, please?
Thanks. It really is personal preference. It doesn't need it, but we are thinking of insulating it later and lining. It's really just the cost that can add up, depending how far you want to go.
Great video, just wondering what colour wood preserver you used 🤔 thanks
Wow, looks grand
Great video
What ply is it? Osb/ply/shuttling for the roof and floor
And what mm
Thanks Michael
Did you treat the underside of the plywood floor before nailing down?
Ouch did that one time it really hurts plus its hard to get nail out of bone.😅
Apologies if this has been asked previously, how much did all the materials cost for this summer house?
I’ve a worx saw like yours they a excellent little saws
Very handy!! :)
Really useful practical advice. Cheers
Lovely job
Cheers :)
Cost of DIY build vs buying a new premade shed? Experience and learning aside, which is better?

@@TheCarpentersDaughterUK thanks. I find the DIY ones are weaker. Only thing is finding the suppliers of wood to make your own and designing it.

Thanks again :)
Been waiting on this
Hope it's not too painful to wait another week for the last 😆
Where did you get your timber from as everywhere I look it is crazy expensive
Hello! How much did you spend in total? Thanks.
Great video as always.
Little tip to help you knees, knee pads, they'll thank you in the future.
Haha... yes! And thanks :)
What size timber did you use for the frame construction?
Hi,
how do you expect the plywood to last compared not the cladding? will it not just deteriorate in a couple off years?
best, Scott
It has a lot of shelter where it is as it's next to a brick wall. But I'll be trying to treat the back of the exposed bit when it's gone pale and it is a pitched roof for rain to drip off away from there.
Great video - I'm about to use this as a guide for a 24x8ft summerhouse shed! Can I ask, where did you get your cladding from?
Thanks! I'm really sorry, I don't know where my Dad buys his tongue and groove, but I know it's not mainstream stores.
Great stuff 66 year old man going to have a go at a summerhouse after watching your video any help would be appreciated 😂
Where did you buy the cladding from? It looks great, I’m looking to do a feature wall in my man cave but the wood I want is pricey!
Looking good ....
Thank you :)
Good job
Cheers :)
Do you have total cost for this?
Doin a great job, Stay Safe !!!.
Thank you and hope you are too@
Good job 👍🇬🇧
Thank you :)
why the overhang when putting the first wall on you mentioned?
Do you mean the cladding overhang?

Hmmm... not heard of that!

❤❤❤
Any idea how much this project cost?
I still need to find ask my parents, but I'm sure they said about 1300 for the materials.
Very you have a talent .....😄🤞
😊👍
Please buy
an impact driver
It was a lot of work. You didn't apply sunscreen...
No I didn't 🙈😆
I don't know whether you notice her arms were all red with sun's heat. I thought it would have been good if sunscreen was applied...
Lol... I am guilty as charged. It's hard to take the sun seriously in the uk as we hardly have any, but I know I should use it.
