What an inspiration your videos are Cameron, this workshop project is looking absolutely mint so far and I can’t wait to see the finished result soon! If I end up moving house later down the line, I have big aspirations to buy a property with a large garden and build a large workshop similar to what you’ve built. Absolutely top work!
I can’t begin to tell you how helpful this has been for me. I’ll be doing a similar roof on a gazebo in my garden early next year but couldn’t get it in my head how to do the roof! Many thanks…thoroughly enjoying this series 👌🏻
Happily married to a real beauty, but I gotta say… I love you. Clear, calm, concise presentation Very natural because you’re clearly passionate about craft and diy 👏👍🥳
Looks great! In the process of doing mine, brought that 1st fix nailer for the job, what a bit of kit it is, no jams or misfires as of yet! Nearly went with impact + screws, it would have taken forever!
Awesome job! As someone who is planning his own mini garden workshop soon, these vids are really useful, as well as fun & interesting 👍. Cheers m'deerz!
I've really enjoyed this series, because it has demystified a lot of the finer details about a DIY out-building. I've always wanted to build something like this, but each time I ran through the design and details I ran out of budget on the estimate and know-how about "belt & braces" strength. I probably would have ran out of patience too, with a half-built monstrosity lying in my back garden until my old age. Great stuff!
Most garage electric door installers recommend you have an alternative method of entry so that if you have an electrical fault you can still get in and open the roller door manually. The workshop looks great but as someone else mentioned why no windows?
I have a manual override but not filmed that due to it being shown in my roller door guide video. No windows by choice due to security, tool theft is at an all time high
Depending on what the tube motor position is, if horizontal then drill a hole through the timber & insert the overide facility (if provided by the manufacturer) or alternatively wire in a UPS
Great again. It would have been nice as to see how you organised/made your arrangement for the soffit. I can only assume that you left a gap wide enough when you installed the fascia board in as to slot in the offcuts of your vertical cladding inform what I can see, some sort of L trim at the wall end as to lock it in/finish it off?
Nice job, but with out windows or doors I think it could be a bit claustrophobic inside. Also what about ventilation ? A door would be useful if/when the roller door fails in the down position with the emergency release stuck - as has happened to me....
What a MASTER PIECE. I was too keen to watch and forgot my search on you tube👏👏👏 Now looking forward inside decoration🤓🤓🤓 Thank you for all workshop building episodes, if I could get courage to build mine it will help me in future.
Awesome build Cameron! remember when I asked about framing a single skin garage? was wondering if you were ever gonna cover that one? I want to frame out a single skin brick garage here in the uk, 2 walls [outside facing] 1 dividing wall onto the next doors garage. Roller door already done! Wanna insulate it and board over the walls, just to make a more temp friendly and nicer to be in... will close off the roof space too
Awesome looking workshop! i love the cladding and the finish on it. Question: any reason you didn't install any windows? could do with some natural light in it?
Looks really good. I wonder why you did not instal a couple of windows each side of the door to allow in natural light. I assume this was for security reasons.
28:22 in doing the cladding before the roof, I thought that was really clever, as the fascia then goes on top of the soffit so much more easier! Perhaps a happy mistake, but I’ll be doing mine this way too…unless you can say why it’s better the other way!?!?
Loving the series so far, and it was great to see so much content in just the one video. Appreciate the efforts and look forward to seeing the next installment!
Looks absolutely amazing, proper impressed. Really handy as well. I am just about to start a room with a garage door too! So will definitely take a look at these doors and follow your guide
Amazing work. Can you please advise me on rules how close to the fence I can expand to? Can I build one of this in a form of timber frame side extension and can I expand as far as fence between me and neighbour? Thank you in advance
Greetings my friend that is a absolutely fantastic looking shed, if only I had room for something like thst in my yard, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia
Excellent video, your hard work doesn't go unnoticed 👍 I guessed you'd use corrugated sheets on the back, I'm doing the same on my very much smaller workshop build but I'm using bitumen corrugated sheets instead.
Brilliant video content really put together so professionally, keep up the good work.Every video so interesting keeps me watching the channel for advice all the time.👍😀.
Wow! It was worth a week's wait for another post from you to see this awesome project, DIY King 👍 Your workshop looks amazing and so many useful tips for us along the way. Enjoy your new dream workshop 😁
I'm so glad I came across this series. I've been planning a workshop/garden house thing in one big building just like this. The exact same building technologies I was going to use and everything. So glad to see your successes and issues. AND you're also from the UK, as someone who watches a lot of DIY/construction/manufacturering stuff, it's all North American based that's actually good quality. Also, I had no idea about that non combustible wall part so you may have saved me a huge issue and money. I was wondering if you (or anyone else here) knew of a more attractive non combustible wall? If I can keep the neighbours as happy as possible I'm willing to do it :)
It's easier before the curtain is attached to the barrel is to bring it all the way down to the bottom limit, then attach the curtain to the barrel that way you only have to make the adjustments to the top limit (within reason). Nevertheless good job as always 👍🏻also its best practice to ensure the curtain is fully down but also the curtain around the barrel isn't wrapped but it's down straight. This will give you a better chance of the shutter not being lifted easily by intruders
No where near handy enough to build one of these. But watched from start to finish just to give the view. Top work mate keep it coming love watching all videos 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I'd love to build one of these as a garden room. I was wondering if you happen to have a parts list of the timber required for the build...would make ordering a hell of a lot easier and that way I'll not need to keep popping back and forth to the timber yard when i fall short😂
Absolutely love these videos, currently going through a bit of a dilemma! My back wall/boundary wall is going to end up being pretty close to the boundary, so much so that I can't get behind it to fit the cladding once the wall is up - oversight on my part I know So i'm going to fit the cladding on the back wall before putting the walls up, my concern is what to do about leaving a gap for the soffit at the top of the back wall, I dont want to leave a massive gap for insects/birds to get into. Once the wall us up, everything like that will have to be fitted from the roof Any advice greatly appreciated!
This has been a great detailed build ! I am copying step by step 😝 Question, my workshop is 6 metre deep, for the flat roof drop, will the 1 degree angle cut for the studded wall still work?
Great series of videos. We are building a similar sized gym and want to build as close to the boundary as possible. I thought we would have to build of concrete blocks. Is it PD all over England if you meet other requirements and put metal cladding on side near boundary? We are in Norwich. Thanks very much.
Absolutely outstanding workmanship loved every video of this build I’ve learnt so much can I just ask why there’s no windows for natural light either? You’re gonna have to have the light on all the time all of your roller shutter door open which will be nice in summer but not so much in winter just asking.
That’s a good looking workshop. I plan on doing something like this myself but money is too tight to mention (even though I just did), so I’m afraid I’ll have to beg steal and borrow and make it up as I go along 😂. Good effort 👏
I’m actually toying with the idea of insulated steel sheets as well. Cost wise they seems to stack up and speed wise, seem a no brainer. What do you think?
Great series, looking forward to seeing you build out the inside. I'm just glad I didn't have to take a shot every time you said EDPM instead of EPDM, I'd've been hammered by the end of the video!! 😂
Hi. Wondered if you considered installing an insect mesh at the bottom of your battens to prevent insects, mice etc. getting under the cladding? Thanks for the video. I have a similar project to do myself in the summer. Very helpful.
Brilliant build, really enjoy watching your videos but in the background you had some QX rolling tool boxes , where are these available please. Just what I'm after.
Amazing video series! Thank you! Did you fit soffit boards same colour as cladding before fitting the fascia boards? Looks like they magicked in there 19:14 😅
Next time on the workshop series we will be insulating it and first fixing electrics 🙌.
Brilliant series mate what an amazing workshop 👏
Can I have a link to the epdm rubber roof please mate ?
@@IcenI_Koiyou might be able to search epdm rubber roof on google and find it
@@IcenI_KoiI get it from mkm building supplies so don’t have a link but it’s a Firestone rubber roof.
@@sirchambers691thanks 👍
Best workshop I've ever seen on you tube and any where else.
Thanks a lot!
You need to watch the restoration couple, this looks like a bunker 😂
Honestly the best videos for DIYers. Informative and easy to follow
Glad you think so!
The quality of this is absolutely top drawer fella. I think my garden needs one of these!!! Beautiful!
Awesome, thanks a lot!
Looks like you've done that a million times. Love the accuracy and sharpness of it all.

Awesome, thank you! Good luck to you
I've only just started to watch you when you changed your Door locked. you take the time to explain the things you do.
another good video. i wish you lived near me in Devon. good trades men are hard to find 👍
thanks for your comments :). They are indeed.

Thanks a lot and your welcome
Looks great! In the process of doing mine, brought that 1st fix nailer for the job, what a bit of kit it is, no jams or misfires as of yet! Nearly went with impact + screws, it would have taken forever!
Thanks. Good luck with yours. The nail gun is brilliant, very rarely jams and easy to get going again if it happens.
Awesome job! As someone who is planning his own mini garden workshop soon, these vids are really useful, as well as fun & interesting 👍. Cheers m'deerz!

Looks briliant! Would love to see a cost breakdown
Coming soon!
A up Pal, you did a right good job on this one, it’s a dream workshop 😁, enjoy it 🤩
Thanks 👍 will do
Hi mate, nice job
So if you have a timber built summer house closer than 1m from boundary. You can clad it with metal boxing and it'll comply ?.
Crazy build congrats
Cheers👍
Little tip for you next time, roll the epdm up using a long length of down pipe, then you can just roll it out over the glue with ease on your own
That sounds like a good tip I’d not thought of, thanks!
Great series. Will you be able to enter the workshop if the roller door fails?
I will be installing the manual over ride but it’s boring for the video so I didn’t film that
I'd love to build one of these as a garden room. I was wondering if you happen to have a parts list of the timber required for the build...would make ordering a hell of a lot easier and that way I'll not need to keep popping back and forth to the timber yard when i fall short😂

top notch project. loved watching you put this together, I can't wait for the next episode for sure.
Glad you enjoyed it
Fantastic job. What was the pitch you used for the roof and how did you calculate it?
hi mate - could you share a link to the metal box profile you used as can't work what is the right one please?
if you can give a quick list of things to get to install the box profile sheets like the screens and corner bits please
Happy to see you after one week.

😉 nice colour isn’t it

I love your videos. They are very helpful. The metal cladding - is it 32/1000 polyester paint coated 0.5mm in slate blue?
That’s a good looking workshop. I plan on doing something like this myself but money is too tight to mention (even though I just did), so I’m afraid I’ll have to beg steal and borrow and make it up as I go along 😂. Good effort 👏

Looks good given me plenty of ideas. Thanks very much
No problem 👍
Delivered clearly and explained in lay terms well done!
Glad it was helpful!
@@TheDIYGuy1Yes it was very informative, Thank you!
I have so much workshop envy, it looks brill. Would you go over costings one video? How secure is the rolling door?
Thanks. Yes I will cover costs. The roller door is secure enough but could be broken into with enough effort much like anything.
Great series, looking forward to seeing you build out the inside. I'm just glad I didn't have to take a shot every time you said EDPM instead of EPDM, I'd've been hammered by the end of the video!! 😂
Lol yeah I always say it wrong.

Hi. To be honest it’s a fair point but not something I have done.
Would be good if you could do a cost break down at the end
I will do 😊
Brilliant build, really enjoy watching your videos but in the background you had some QX rolling tool boxes , where are these available please. Just what I'm after.
Ox tooltrek. Available in so many places here in the uk
Top notch mate love the cladding i also used cladco panels on my carport 👏🤔😎

Fantastic build. Look forward to the interior 👍🏻

Fantastic! Another great job well done!

What about a gradient for water run off? Won't there be puddling of rainwater with the roof being so flat?
