You saved my day, thank you so much! Basically the water tank was running constantly so I bought a spare part , when I got home I realised that was the wrong part, and was already Saturday, all shops are shut, on Sunday are not working, and the most issue is that I got one valve for both water tank and the bathroom sink, so shutting the water tank pipe valve would mean shutting the entire water in my bathroom.
Found that the washer had some debris cleared it and it worked! Thank u so much sir! 🙏

Thanks so much for this, I did exactly the same as you. I replaced the rubber fitted everything back together and yes it still leaked. There are 2 notches to align inner and outer. If you don’t get them both aligned properly then it will still leak. Thanks again.

I literally had this exact same problem only a few days ago. Had the diaphragm replaced and then it started overfilling. The issue for mine was the top bit. If you look at the bit where there's a small hole and what looks like a rubber flange, press your finger down on the plastic part in the center of the hole. If it stops overfilling then you have the same issue I did.
I fixed it by placing 3 very small washers under the lip of the white hole so it held the flange and the little plastic bit down, essentially simulating constant pressure downwards, and it works now!

  • @charlottethomas5677

Doing mine. It's easier if you take the plastic arm away from the round plastic thread. When you go to put the thread back on you can align the notch perfectly and the plastic arm doesn't get in the way.

Hi, Thank you so much for this video. My cistern was taking ages to fill up. Just check and the washer was in a bad way. Just ordered another one. I have noticed as well that there was also a constant flow of water running into the bowl - would this be a related problem or it is something different? If so, what would be the solution? Would I have to change the rubber or a part at the bottom too?

Not mentioned in these videos is there is a rubber inset in the lever arm circa 6mm dia. Not easy to see as white the same as the lever. This can be indented to such an extent it cannot form an air tight seal to the little hole in the end of the plastic piece he took out. The rubber can be pushed out from the rear turned round and reinserted to expose a fresh smooth surface. I replaced the sealed in the video but still had a problem. Turned round the seal in the lever arm solved the problem.

Im having the same problem, I do not see a rubber inset at all on the lever arm and cant find the part at all? I replaced the seal as in the vid (flow valve) but water is still jetting out of the little hole in the lever arm? And the toilet does not stop filling
