Wish I’d found this video before I bought the whole unit..! Great video and explains really well.. a complete diy novice like me can follow.. many thanks. 👍
Top man, thanks for the explanation. I have a working toilet again. It was slowly filling so I swapped the rubber grommet then it was over filling so using your video I also adjusted the grey thing at the tOP and rotated it anticlockwise 3 or 4 times which adjust the level of water and stopped the water. LEGEND!☺️👍🏽
Things I learned... Turn water off first! The cog-like thing is hand tight only. The diaphragm has only one way it goes on, with a notch to locate it snuggly. When you let the water in, the toilet may trickle for a while until it settles. The arm that comes out the front of the diaphragm part must be level at the hinge or it won't flip up with the float properly. Thanks for giving me the confidence to tackle it 😂💦🪣

Hi thank you and I hope u solved the issue, I also came across this and it could be that the shutting off system is not vertical. if you are still having a problem get in touch and I'll send you a video.
Helpful video, cheers, I have the same problem but also need to replace the old flush unit. Think came as part of a B&Q kit ... it shows SIAMP NF on the float ...but not sure which newer version will be compatible 😐
Thanks for this and actually taking time to give advice and TALKING through the stages...! 👍 nothing worse than a DIY video with just jingly-jangly bloody ukulele music 🙄
Hi, I moved into a new property and the flush button is missing 🙄. It's a similar cistern to the one in the video and was just wondering where can I purchase the flush button from? Thanks 😊
I have this type of cistern (B&Q Rejuvenate), have gone through this inlet float valve situation recently, but now the toilet flush has broken and when I press it down from the top, it doesn't actually flush. I have worked out that I can lift the accompanying plastic bit next to it, with the metal hook, and it will then still flush, but I have a horrible feeling it's all about to die a death. Can you assist, please? Also, is there a name for the brand of this cistern's internals, in case I need a replacement?
Hi there, can you record it upload it and share the link please, I will then be able to advise (I'm just a hobbiest though :)) but hopefully others can advise too.
@@shaktastik Thankyou, you're a star. I've just watched yours, and also taken a brief video of my own attempting to flush, and I'll compare the two, since on first look, I'm not sure if something's broken off (can't see anything in the cistern) or if it's unclipped, as I've seen someone else describe as an issue. I'll probably be tomorrow when I look at it properly, as it'll be brighter then and I'll be more awake :)
@@paulparkes7761 for anyone struggling with the water not stopping after this I may have found the solution by googling "SIAMP Inlet Valve adjust the float level", I can't tell if it fixed everything as I did 3 or 4 flushes but so far it seems like it
@@peileed I did, there's a small white arm on the part that you unscrew to get to the old diaphragm (it's the arm that connects to the float). After you replace the diaphragm, before you screw the part back into position, unclip the small white arm (you can clip it back into position later). Push the part with the new diaphragm into position - make sure it's really pushed in there to form a good seal (the small white arm was stopping me doing this, by removing it, I had better access to tightening the nut). Finally, after you've tightened the nut, clip the white arm back into position. Hope that helps 🙂
It is easy to think that you have to align the 'groove' with the part on the valve that sticks out. If you do so, it won't stop the water flow. I put mine at 90 degrees and it worked fine after scratching my head for ages!
@@paulparkes7761everything on mine appears to be in the correct position, as you suggest, but the cistern still won't stop filling 😢 Thinking I have to replace the whole inlet mechanism now?
@@bsw78 Yeah I guess so. Tbh, a few days after I THOUGHT I'd got it working, the thing failed again, so had no alternative but to call a plumber and get the whole float assembly replaced., The guy said these float assemblies are really badly designed - he replaces loads of them because repairing them is so hit-and-miss
Ripped my SIAMP out , had to replace the diaphragm a couple of years ago - no probs but this week it started overflowing again and 2 new ones didn't fix it, it would shut off about 10 times on the run then overflow. I got cheesed off with it and bought a Viva Skylo from Toolstation for £8.98.
Yeah I did that as well but just had to fit one of the Amazon ones this week as its overflowing again. None of them worked so replaced the entire valve with a Skylo from Toolstation.
Did mine today. Was a nightmare because the replacement washer fron ebay was warped causing over fill and a fart noise...no joke. Screwfix replacement done in 2 minutes
I swear some pervert pre-rips the diaphragm so they last about 3 years :-) we have 3 of these ... Just ordered another set because the cycle starts again. Sometimes the middle part goes. There is a twist and replace mechanism - great idea but often the nut underneath gets lose then you seep water out of the close coupling. Ours are on mains pressure so our fill time is much shorter than yours - or you don't have much pressure. Anyhow great job.
Thanks man! I replaced it but did it all wrong, anyone else struggling make sure you put the valve the right way round, and make sure the arm bracket rests at 90' and is not tilted at all.

Hello sir how are you?
How did you turn water off

So did u turn off water before changing part
yes
