Fantastic! I never write comments, but this video is definitely worth my first one!! We moved to a new house with 3 loos 2 months ago... ensuite loo wasn't filling at all - it was just making a hissing sound and spraying water, and the downstairs loo wasn't flushing very much and was taking almost 10 minutes to fill for another rubbish weak flush. Watched the video, sent the hubby to ScrewFix (B&Q didn't have the part) and for £9.90 (£4.45 each) fixed both toilets in half an hour! I can't tell you how good it is to not have to either go up or down a flight of stairs to use the loo!! (It's a 3 storey town house) Thank you! 👍😀
Considering I am absolutely useless with DIY, this video has just saved my life! Easy to understand, very clear and straight the point. £5.39 from Screw Fix for replacement!
Like others I've been putting off the slow filling toilet. Followed the video, had exactly this issue, 5.81 from screwfix for a new one and fixed. Total time taken including travel to screwfix about 45 mins. You sir, are a legend
Thank you for this video. I have just moved into my first flat and the cistern was taking 10 minutes to fill. I found your video with the exact system as mine; 15 minutes later, a £5 part and the toilet was fixed.
Toilet literally started doing this the other day but is now back up and running in no time thanks to this video and a replacement washer from Amazon. No having to deal with weeks-long back and forth with the landlord to get it repaired. Extra thumbs up for showing how to turn the water off beforehand. Thanks!
The time taken from seeing what the problem is to fixing my toilet is less than half an hour (including a trip to the plumbers merchant) all thanks to you video. Superb, thank you
Thanks.very useful..cost me £5 and 2 mins of my time..fills up in 40secs now as opposed to 10 mins previously. Great info, saved me a fortune in plumber call out fees
Thank you for this video. Found it while searching slow filling toilet, and my toilet looks exactly the same as the one in your video. Saw the same water spray to the right and disassembled to find that same black gasket with a hole in it 😊
First video i searched for and it matched my model. Luckliy the seal wasn't broken but after watching your video, i put it back to together and its working again. Great Vid!
Thank you so much for this video. The problem I had was not the valve, but the whole system being installed the wrong way around, which then stopped the floats movement, but i only could tell that it was installed the wrong way around by watching your video. Thanks once again.
Thank you very much. Your video has helped me locate and fix my problem, including the lever where it needs to go. Mine fell off while opening the lid.
Just completed the fix thanks to your vid. Perfect. Very clear instructions. Particularly glad of your advice to take the old part with me to get the replacement. Saved me a call out to a plumber. Many thanks.
Thank you so much. Things are tight at the moment and if you'd not posted this I'd have paid British Gas my £60 callout fee from my cover. Instead it cost me £3.49. It's Christmas and with having excited kids I've never needed that money more!
I've scrolled through YT today, looking for my toilet. Came across this video, followed what you did, & bingo I'm off to B & Q. For a washer. Thank you.
Brilliant, I had a slightly different mechanism/set-up - but same theory. I had a little blockage in the valve which I disloged with a paperclip, so I didn't even need to replace anything. This video saved me a plumber call out and therefore lots of money
Followed your instructions exactly and found the right piece at Screwfix, Irvine. At first they thought they didn’t have it but they checked and found it. Put the new piece in place and it worked perfectly. Thank you.

Great stuff. Thanks fella. Couldn't believe it - got the old washer out and it looked exactly like the one you pulled out. Thank god I saw your vid before trying what another one was suggesting about dismantling the unit and cleaning the filter, which would have been a complete waste of time.
Lyle very informative video , I had a same problem water tank took ages to fill and this valve was the fault, I have done myself with your video. Thanks bro
Thank you thank you! This was such a fab video that I (no DIY skills) was able to follow and fix our slow flushing toilet. Great content, pace and didn’t miss out any steps leaving me to work out stuff myself. Thank you!
You're a star, thanks Lyle. Same toilet, same issue, now fixed! Well when I say the same toilet, I don't mean yours... 😄 Really appreciate the upload 👍🏽
Thanks, this helped me fix mine no part needed! When i unscrewed the plastic cap thing I came to a little plastic squidgy bit that had 2 small holes- I used the tool for cleaning the coffee machine which is like a hair pin to clean out the holes- worked for me. (for now at least)
Thanks so much for this, toilet fixed for £3.15! By the way, contrary to the information below, the part I required from B & Q was an 'Opella Washer (DIA) 20mm (Product Code: 5013241067829). So better check which one you require before heading off to your local B & Q store.
Thanks for this video, we moved into our house a year ago and got around to investigating the issue today. Found your video very helpful 👍 Also don't go to B&Q, a universal one is questionable 😬 I went to screw fix and they had the exact one like for like - a little bit more money, but it should last longer 🤞 Gave a 👍
Thanks very much for posting. I had the same problem - and luckily, exactly the same fittings. Screwfix came up trumps with the part, and I did the rest in about five minutes flat.
Many thanks got me out of a fix. Mine isn't as accessible as yours being boxed in behind the toilet. However, pointing out that notch, which I hadn't noticed and the fact that though my rubber seal looked fine, a little bit of stretching showed up the split. Most useful, thanks again.
Just wanted to say thanks for the advice, allowing me to be able to do this fix myself, and saving a fortune on a plumber, even if one could come round what with the proposed lockdown next week. It being non essential. Again Thanks...👍
Excellent. Well, I say that but I haven't actually tried yet. Will update when I do but thank you for explaining how it works and showing what needs to be done.
Absolutely brilliant video - thank you so much! My endlessly refilling loo has been bugging me for well over a year. Valve was split, EXACTLY like the one in the video. Off to B&Q now... :o)
Your fucking life saver work, I'm a handyman who does a lot of bits for the family for free and I never touched toilets but you happens to have the exact same system as the one i need to fix for my parents and you've saved me whilst also helping me pay back a bit of what I owe them for looking after me! ❤ fucking star mate
Fantastic, thanks so much. Worked a treat, but had to visit four shops to find the part. Should have read the comments for Screwfix part number (thanks!), but good to know now for when the other toilets go.... Thanks again.
Didn't expect to find the exact same toilet as mine with the exact same problem. Now fixed. Thanks!
Brilliant! I've been ignoring this problem for 6 months; fixed in 10 mins and for under £3 after following your instructions. Thank you!
Thank you. I was going to call a plumber today, but after watching your video I did exactly as you said and for under £5 I have become a family hero!
Fantastic! I never write comments, but this video is definitely worth my first one!!

Great. Clear and straight to the point, no distracting music or aspirations to be Steven Spielberg. Well done.
Considering I am absolutely useless with DIY, this video has just saved my life!
Easy to understand, very clear and straight the point. £5.39 from Screw Fix for replacement!
£2.50 from Amazon with free delivery. ;)
Excellent! I have spent 10 minutes and £5 fixing our inlet - domestic harmony is restored. Thank you!
Like others I've been putting off the slow filling toilet. Followed the video, had exactly this issue, 5.81 from screwfix for a new one and fixed. Total time taken including travel to screwfix about 45 mins. You sir, are a legend

Thank you. Just fixed my toilet using this video. Saved the cost of a plumber.
I'm pretty sure this is what is wrong with my toilet and i have been looking for a fix for ages. This is now my weekend job. Thank you.
Just fixed my loo!!!! Thanks so much.
Thank you. I replaced my valve for £4.99 following your clear easy intructions. 😊
thank you! My first time owning a house and after 6 months this happened, took a while to find the right video but here you are
3 council plumbers later, watched this video, quick run to plumbsave, 10 minute job and job done, excellent video thank-you 👌🏻
Toilet literally started doing this the other day but is now back up and running in no time thanks to this video and a replacement washer from Amazon. No having to deal with weeks-long back and forth with the landlord to get it repaired. Extra thumbs up for showing how to turn the water off beforehand. Thanks!
Wonderful! This fix cost me 5 minutes of time and £4.50 as opposed to the stupid amount I would otherwise have paid to a plumber to fix. Thanks mate.
The time taken from seeing what the problem is to fixing my toilet is less than half an hour (including a trip to the plumbers merchant) all thanks to you video. Superb, thank you

Fantastic thank you, fixed my toilet for £4 thanks to this tutorial!
Cheers mate. Got sick of hearing my cistern fill up for 20 mins. Such an easy fix 😀
First video i searched for and it matched my model. Luckliy the seal wasn't broken but after watching your video, i put it back to together and its working again. Great Vid!

Thanks, Lyle. I was struggling to find advice based on the same cistern that I have. Your video saved me and toilet now working fine.
Many thanks for this problem....fixed for £5.40 I am very grateful to you.

I have watched other videos but couldn't fix the problem because the toilets were different models. This is exactly my model. Thank you
Thanks just fixed my toilet using this video. The value wasnt broken just was stuck. Thanks again
I've scrolled through YT today, looking for my toilet. Came across this video, followed what you did, & bingo I'm off to B & Q. For a washer.

Lyle you are my hero.. thanks to this I only had to spend £5 vs £200 for a plumber!
Followed your instructions exactly and found the right piece at Screwfix, Irvine. At first they thought they didn’t have it but they checked and found it. Put the new piece in place and it worked perfectly. Thank you.

Absolutely brilliant video - thank you so much! My endlessly refilling loo has been bugging me for well over a year. Valve was split, EXACTLY like the one in the video. Off to B&Q now... :o)
