after watching your video I have decided NOT to take my car to the shop to get the spark plugs changed, seems easy enough that I can do. so wish me luck! and thanks so much for your video this was VERY helpful. (you may of just helped me save 300.00 as per the shop estimates.)
Hi friend I like your video, my 2003 lancer trimble while engine working I unplugged the third wire plug and no changes the motor did. What may be the cause?
It's pretty common for these engines to idle rough and weak. If it's really bad, I'd check the motor and transmission mounts and see if they are tight and not busted. Thanks!
So my lancer ralliart has been misfiring on the third gear, where it would just rev but the speed won’t pick up until I lift up my foot from the gas and press again in order for it to go to the next gear I’m guessing, I was wondering how I could fix this
Hello Micah do u need to check the gap of spark plug? I just replaced my spark plug but i didnt check the gap NGK iridium i installed. Is that pre gap to .044?
Sir How about in ignition coil i already change a 1 igniton coil in my car lancer 2007 but i replace 1 ignition coil is different number of ignition coil. Is this no problem?
I have a Mitsubishi Galant from 2001, I pulled out the coil pack to see the sparkplug. After placing them back the engine wouldn’t start anymore. What am I doing wrong?
Hi. I think that sounds like an issue with either the new plugs or coils. Can you ensure the coils are plugged in the proper order and all making good contact? Also ensure that the new plugs are gapped to the correct gap?
@@mci2727 I didn’t replaced anything. That’s the weird part. I just placed Back the old parts. I just bought the car and wanted to check the sparkplug. But once I pulled out the coil pack I realized I did not have anything to get the sparkplug out…. So I placed the coil pack back. But now it won’t start anymore😬
That's a great question Dj Parsons, thanks so much for asking! The reason to add a after market grounding kit is because over time your factory grounds can deteriorate and break down. This can cause loss in power, radio noise and even vehicle fires. I added about 8 new grounds to different places and the one on the coils is to make sure there's a good ground going to them for the best spark. It more preventative maintenance than anything. Thnaks!
Micah G Robinson Would you ground both coil packs? If I were to replace my coil packs with performance rated ones would I a ground still be purposeful?
What if i need to change one of the connections that hooks to the coil?????? Do i have to buy the entire huge connection that connects to everything else?
Hey +nelson arias Thanks so much for your comment You'll be just fine to go to a junkyard and find the connector and cut the wire long and then just splice it on your car by cutting the connector off your car close to the coil (so there's plenty of wire length left) and splicing it in. Make sure to match up the contacts and see if the wires are the same color and if they aren't match which will go to which.
My vehicle drives good but i get the engine light on and it says to change ignition coil. but also its been flatuating in temperature here from lets say minus 20 to about minus 1.
If you have the money, it's a good idea to replace both if they're both old. Alternatively you can check and see which one is bad with a multi-meter and check the OHMS and compare it to what they're supposed to be. That will tell you for sure.
i have a question i have a 2002 o-z rally. i recently started loosing power. like when i go from stop and step on the gas its like choking or something. also i was shifting into drivd and there was a loud bang. any thoughts? really needing help.
+Jordan Valdivia Sorry for the late reply. My first guess would be to check for check engine codes and replace the spark plugs. But aside from tuneup I'm not sure. Have you figured it out yet?
+Micah G Robinson hey bro no problem. i changed the plugs and there is no engine light on or any codes popping. replaced the O2 too. its only on take of that it has no power like wants to die. but once its going i can press jnto the gas and it goes great.
Man, I'll have to think through that but nothing is coming to mind as to what it could be yet. May find a Mitsu mechanic to look at it. Could maybe be a bad gasket on the intake side or exhaust possibly too I'm thinking. But not a issue I have a lot of experience with sadly.
+RyTakGaming thanks man i am actually laughing hysterically because i went to find this comment from you thay i got and never looked at, funny thing is that i am replacing them today. let yiu know soon ic it fixes.
Question. On a 2001Mitsu Galant my son owns. Hes says the car wont start and when it does its blowing the fuse. They searched for open lines or a short and couldnt find one. Mentioned that he thinks it may be the plugs. Plugs not gapped right might cause spitting or misfires but not pop fuses. You think it maybe the Ignition coils?
Hey Ray Bohn I'm sorry I don't know off the top of my head. Should be easy enough to look at the spark plugs and see if each one has a coil sitting on top of it or trace the plug wires back to the coil packs and see if it has 2, 3, 6 etc Thanks!
james3000gt There is a way to check with a multimeter checking the resistance of the coil. I don't know what it should be for your car... here's a video that explains this method; th-cam.com/video/UxcO9d9FATs/w-d-xo.html You could also buy replacements and replace yours and if it doesn't fix you problem return them right away to your local shop you bought them from.
How is your car so quiet when my 02 OZ Rally sounds like a mad hornet with my Greddy Cat back and a set of cheap chinese header with a discount short ram. :P
Don’t listen to this guy. Most of the info is correct, but DO NOT USE ANTI SIEZE ON SPARK PLUGS. It changes the torque value up to 20% so you can very easily overthread it and ruin the spark plug. Factory’s always install spark plugs dry and you should as well.
I've been happily using anti-seize on spark plugs for over 15 years, never had a single issue. The times I don't use it I regret it (if I have to take them out down the road). No issues. Thanks
I'm helping a friend tune up his 99 Mirage before he passes down to his brother, and this video was a HUGE help!
Awesome +Cole Hart
so glad and thanks so much for your comment :)

Let me know how it goes
car is all fixed, thanks a bunch!
That's fantastic :)
Why do you have the grounding wire? Thanks in advance.
Thanks man! I don't know a damn thing about cars and was able to do all of this with your vid. Car is fine now.
Awesome Nathan Justice That's what fuels me to keep learning myself and making videos. Thanks!
Good stuff man.

Sounds like either a bad spark plug or dead coil.
Does the same apply to the 2002 mitsubishi galant?

Do you know the size of screws one is stripped and I lost it
awesome videos i really like those, i hope so that you upgrades more videos about lancer 02 thanks so much i really appreciate it
Thanks so much Jose villagomez, I've got some new ones in que I'm excited about :)

why did you add a grounding wire to the coil ? do these motors not ground the coils good?

Bro could 2004 mitsubishi lancer ignition coil fits on 2005 mitsubishi lancer
Yes, 2004 and 2005 use the same part. Good luck

This car have 2 ignition coils ? Should I change both when changing or just one ?

Micah G Robinson Thank you very much for answers. You helped me a lot
so glad. Hope you get it figured out. Let me know what you wind up with.
how did u install your ground wire ? I wanna put in a system

A bad ignition coil could for sure blow a fuse. It could be any number of things though unfortunately.
What fuse is it?
Not sure but ive got to go look for myself so i know exactly whats going on and whats not. Ill get back to you. Thank you so much!!!
I have a 94 Mitsubishi 3.0 liter 6 cylinder. How many ignition coils does t have?
Great Video- thanks for taking the time.

Do you still own that car?
Mine has a p0300 code, it has 170000 milles.
Have you gotten that code?
I have a question...I have a Mitsubishi lancer as 2002 I change the crank senor but car still doesn't get spark could it be the coils? Anyone?
For sure it could be
If you can find a download for the service manual you can find what the resistance should be through the coils and test them
Aight thank about to get some new could now and try it again thanks l appreciate it will further update u on how it come along
Coil *now
Micah G Robinson
Hi, how do I know that ignition coils are bad? Thanks
You can test the ohms through it but honestly I've always just replaced them and see if that fixes my issue.
Thanks for this jewel ❤️ happy girl in Mississippi 😇
Haha I love it!
Thanks so much for letting me know.
Glad it's been helpful :)
how do you know a coil is bad on a 2.4 liter eclipse?

why the ignition coil is very hot and expond
its so easy even a squirrel can do it 🐿
also if u use a paper towel and put it in the socket the plug will not get stuck in socket
Interesting, I'll have to try that. Thanks for the tip :)
Thanks!!
For sure, glad it was helpful to you!
Have a great day :)
