RTS Link November 2024 Update: Malaysia & Singapore’s Game-Changing Connection!

RTS Link construction project in Johor Bahru is start now
The RTS Link connects Bukit Chagar in Johor Bahru to Woodlands in Singapore, serving about 10,000 passengers per hour each way to help ease traffic congestion on the Causeway.
The RTS project is estimated to be RM3.7 billion after factoring in the relocation of the depot from Mandai in Singapore to Johor Bahru.
The RTS will not only ease congestion on the Causeway, the connectivity will also bring economic benefit to both cities.
The RTS Link will also continue to feature co-location of customs, immigration and quarantine (CIQ) facilities, so that passengers undergo CIQ clearance only once, at their point of departure.
The RTS Link stations will be well integrated with the local transport networks in each country.
When completed, the RTS Link will ease Causeway congestion, improve connectivity, foster people-to-people ties and generate shared economic and social benefits.

I would have done it differently. I wont have that dumb condo build up at the water front before the CIQ causing congestion. I will re build the CIQ to bring it up front and to combine with the MRT station build underground with multiple access point from malls to streets etc.

Your plan will be costly. The initial plan was to extend the TEL mrt line right up to Bukit chagar but the other side wants a separate lrt system

Any planning is irrelevant because we all know how prc developers got that super prime land and do the reclamation in the first place. The same reason why we will never get to see the water flowing across the causeway despite there was a proposal of a crooked bridge to let the water flow underneath. Yikes

No point. Most stations are already completed pending testing and openings. The only ones still developing are JB Sentral (which we can see here) & Kempas Baru EMU Depot. The new stations in the entire Segamat District (Segamat, Labis & Bekok) are all operational while Paloh opened a week back.

Sebab tak cukup tempat dan kawasanny terlalu rumit. Kalau jalan raya terlalu sempit untuk letak tiang biasa, treknya perlu 2 tiang untuk penstabilan.

Tempat terbaik untuk tiang supaya ianya cantik/teratur biasanya tidak sesuai/boleh dipakai. Contoh: Kalau laluan itu kebetulan di atas dan tengah2 jalanraya, diorang takleh pacak tiang tu di tengah2 jalan. Kenalah buat dua tiang di kiri/kanan jalan utk support landasan di atas.

Doesn't seem like the TH-camr will be doing it anymore. Half the stations are already operational. Segamat to Paloh, as well as Kempas Baru are now opened. The only side still in development is JB Sentral here & Kempas Baru EMU Depot.

bagi saya project ni side johor tak berapa bijak.. RTS dituju kan semula ke CIQ-bukit chagar. kawasan tu dah terlalu padat. bila dah mula operasi nanti akan jd sesak. dgn laluan ke pusat bandar makin sempit. Sebelum project ni start pun hujung minggu sesak tak terkawal. Tapi Singapore bijak, RTS terletak jauh dari woodlands checkpoint. So akan kurangkan kesesakkan di woodlands checkpoint.
