I have no problem of getting the VEP done during April and the process is smooth. I guess all those complaints are for those who are last minute folks. You have chance to complete the application earlier but choose not to do so..
You never tried to apply when it was first announce way back when? Be grateful it's smooth now, the complaints stemmed from the insanely stupid and inefficient way the registration worked in the past. It took me around 6 months to get it done, cause half the time, the website is not available and/or all the links are broken on their website. People used to have to make an appointment and drive into Johor to have someone stick the RFID tag. I heard if you are early they will refuse to serve you and ask you to wait, even though the staff are just sitting around idle. If you are late, they will ask you to make another appointment. If you change cars and did not remove the tag, you are told you cannot apply for another one without returning the old one... But your tag is already gone with the old car... It's not people's fault for not wanting to apply early, it's all the horror stories and bad experiences that detered people.
even they are given 100 years time, these people will NEVER apply, , everyone will "wait" for last minute U TURN. when there is no sign of u turn from MY side, these ppl MAKE NOISE and COMPLAIN. hahahah whose problem?

Lol that was a different VEP my friend. The VEPs are just money grabs and scamming their own gov. It fails after the contractors get paid. It's going to happen again. Don't waste your time and money
Just don't bother. I've been going in October with no VEP sticker, no application. And don't forget your NRIC scan will magically be leaked once you submit
I drove past the Woodlands causeway ramp - towards the custom - everyday to work. Since VEP was "implemented" on 1st Oct, I haven't seen a single day to have cars lined up before the ramp on BKE. It is basically clear all the way up to the bend on the flyover. What's the big deal of going to JB? Adjust your lifestyle and give it a miss. Complain with your actions and not your mouth only.
@@Edwin-fk4yy Some still have immediate families living at JB where they need to visit often. It is also the same as Malaysians working in Singapore who may look desperate for jobs and SGD.
Same goes to Malaysia vehicles also don’t paid fine for many years. I had encountered a trailer truck block 1way traffic just to go and q up buy lunch. When driver came back, a lot ppl ask him how can he do this. He replied that “ u can call police, I will get fine only but don’t need to pay at all” and ya ya papaya drive off. From here can tell we can’t do anything to them too at this moment. About 1 years ago,In Facebook someone nothing to do by taking photos of Malaysia car to check how many cars didn’t pay fine and results out 90% of them didn’t pay fine and some can have outstanding over $1000 for many years. Hope the info still in Facebook
@ I mean in the video, sound like Singapore car is a problem . Create a lot fine and debt. If u go Tuas checkpoint which I daily pass by, u will see 7:30 to 9 am, thousands of bike speedy more then 110km/h at 80 km/h AYE. Yellow big bus drive towards Tuas checkpoint always speed over 100 km/h. But normally TP always chase local only. Got once I saw TP stop local van and didn’t stop yellow bus which both speeding. Look like they know catch them is useless, they won’t pay the fine. I can create video of driving 5 days per week of yellow bus speeding at AYE near Tuas but I will get caught first because the speed limit is 80km/h. Because I mention 100 km/h. In fact most of the time there drive 120km/h will be precise.
It is perfectly fine during covid period where nobody drove to Malaysia. Suddenly people become desperate to drive in and waste time and money to get the "VEP" like it is some sort of legendary item.
Keep some dashcams around. I installed 4 dashcams per car (2 front and 2 rear). Two are visible from outside and 2 more hidden. Usually if stopped by authorities, u can tell if the officers were genuine or fake by looking at their expression. For the fake ones, they will let u go with just a warning if they spot the dashcams. If a genuine case, the summon will be issued without any negotiations.
@CNAinsider please do an episode two for second-hand car that have previously registered for VEP and new owner need to deregister and register. The waiting time is infinite
It works the same if a Malaysian car is registering for the Auto pass card( insurance cover note )driving licence . Probably the difference is the speed of the approval 😊done by the LTA side
No much issue for those new cars. Is the deregistering process that is kill you. Appreciate you could do a video on a 2nd hand car which has register before VEP with new number plate. (You bought a 2nd hand but the previous owner retain his plate hence you are issue with new plate number) You cannot register as the chassis number has already tag to the old car plate.
Applied my VEP on 12th Oct, just received information that it’s approved, waiting for the tag to post to me, let’s see how long I need to wait for it to arrive.
Most issue from used cars , new car registers are actually easily done online. Mine is used car, take 5 month only completed my application & collection, between lot of error without reply too.
No offence but we the people have no idea wats going on. Its our government thats doing this. Hope u guys understand. We want and need good relationships with Singapore
Singapore government don’t dare to collect money summon from Malaysia vehicle and a lot no licence no insurance because they still need Malaysian as foreign labour …. Let vote them out during next election 2025
🙏 Yes , this is how pitiful when dealing with Malaysian governmental documentation application by Malaysians too , they have to go down to their respective branches to get the proper informations , forms & necessary documentations ready & come back in appropriate day to have to queue up in very unuserfriendly premises in some states ... Some branches are better than others ... Bring along umbrella or foldable chair if the queue is long , & stop drinking or eating 2 to 3 hours earlier & go visit the toilet first before queuing as there might not be any toilet nearby in certain premises , except if there are coffee shops situated nearby , just in case! Malaysia is still needed to learn from Singapore in dealing with National Documentation application & delivery to their citizens , PR or foreign applicants in a more professional & smoother ways! There are good changes coming as more digitalization on processes being implemented & newer more comfortable premises being set-up to deal with these governmental documentation applications in JB , Putrajaya or KL in the future! Thank You So Much CNA for this valuable lessons on applying for VEP in Singapore or directly in JB! 🙏🌏✌💜🕊🇲🇾🇸🇬
For people who living or working in JB have no other option. Getting the VEP for your vehicle is the only way to drive in to Johor. Extremely time consuming and hassle taking. But for those who’s drive in for leisure just forget about it. Or wait until Jb/Malaysia to simplify the system or registration with efficiency for the VEP application. I dun believe the system cannot be improved since VEP was been mentioned years ago. Seem like the “inefficiency” is mend on purpose. Why wasted so much efforts but yet disgusted by them? Dont waste time, time cost money too! I rather save up my time and money in Singapore or fly some where else for relaxation. After trying out for more the 3 times to apply for the VEP more than 5 months ago still on pending! But expected lah! Singaporean, we have other better options too! Never stick to a dead well!
I got my vep after applying online and got it thru delivery. But was rejected when I stick it on my windscreen instead of the headlights. I feel there are conflicting messaging about the placement of the vep.

1st The system is not sustainable at Malaysia end, as the continuous cost of VEP application for Singapore cars is perpetual. Singapore cars are mostly driven for 10 years only. Coupled, with the need for replacements for damages, change of car, disposing of car etc. 2nd only a fraction of Singapore cars, frequently travel to Malaysia, it discourages or simply put off majority who travels infrequently. Imagine a country that has strict visa application requirements, it is akin to give a signal that first time visitors are not welcome. 3rd To prevent Singapore cars being stolen, is a weak argument. Tearing off the sticker will disable the RFID function, when the car is stolen and cannibalised or whatever. 4th To collect summons? 3.5MRM since 1990's, I believe 60% of those summons are already invalid, as most of those cars have already been scrapped. To prevent the same from happening again? This we have to wait and see how effective, it actually is, when the car is eventually scrapped. Singapore itself, does not try to trace these unpaid summons as it knows it is futile, and a waste of resources. 5th The VEP webiste, after so many years, have yet being improved, and I doubt it would be relevant in few years time, and again a money pit, to revamp.
Traffic violations are costing us an astounding RM4 billion, and this is a critical issue that demands our immediate attention. I've witnessed alarming driving behaviour from Singaporeans, particularly reckless speeding, and it's time we address this situation head-on.😢
I've have witness the same for JB ppl who ride their motorbikes in Singapore. using the shoulder lane and lane filtering in and out dangerously and speeding and illegal parking and unpaid fines and it's time we address this situation head-on, we can say the same both sides have their shitty drivers/Riders.
@@aldinlim Malaysians are terrible drivers by design, most likely bribed JPJ, I have witnessed it..but Malaysians are not claiming to come from an efficient, first-class economy blah blah, but as soon as Singaporeans cross over, it appears, who cares, you see, we do not have a chip on our shoulder, that is the difference..but can you proof RM4 billion in fines on your side, this is blatant disregard and taking the mickey Come drive in the UK in the same way, and you will be banned and lose your job...
shame to see all comments here. both country act like kids. this country said no national food bla bla, this country said currency stronger bla bla. when will this stop? you both got benefit, SG can go shopping at MY/ can go buy cheaper item while boosting MY sale, MY can go SG work/ when returning to MY, you got higher income than most average employee at MY. it's 2024 soon 2025, why won't u guys stop comparing and discriminating each other country?
This just goes to show that even the most well intentioned policies can result in consequences which lead to further consequences that can only be described as the consequence of consequences.
I have RFID tag (similar to VEP) on the headlamp for 5 years and it did not have any physical damage issue at all, so stop complaining, just remind your carwashers to avoid cleaning that area it will be good and watch out your speed when you cross the Toll.
When you know is BS when he says the law is equal for everyone. The amount of malaysian cars speeding and the speed they going, so will their new system catching them as well? 🙃
So what is our singapore govt doing then? There are also a lot of jhk bike with a lot of fines and they just simply don't care lol ... no license riding in Singapore, illegal ferry services from malaysian alphard / vellfire... y our govt just simply dun care ... interesting..
No doubt VEP has been good. Personally ive tried it and it was smooth after the application and implemention. What about MY motorcycles? Do we have the same tech to catch the outstanding fines? I think this need to be looked at if we are having this system fairly across both borders (just put it specifically for bikes commuting from MY to SG). What about their outstanding fines? I guess its a known and open issues yet to be resolved - fines that doesnt matter to foreign vehicles
It takes me two hours to apply and be granted my ESTA visa to enter into the United States of America, and I still complain it takes too long - real first world problem.
our ICA and TP system not being able to work in tandem to ensure vehicles with outstanding fines should be stopped at ICA checkpoints and made to settle fines before entering Singapore again. What is figure of they own should more than Singapore car fines in Malaysia. Still haven included hit and run case no increase of import traffic crime and no insurance no license
They told you months ago, people waited for last minute then complain when it got swamped. Rather typical sinkie behavior id say, actually its the same for either side.
It got swamped because the Malaysian side wasn’t prepared enough before launching it. Too many unresolved problems and plain inefficiency. Nothing new.
So bold to use RFID or otherwise stupid. 2017 until now, still studying ya. Our Smartag RFID is a senseless ridiculous failure. something that supposedly to make toll payment smoother will hold you up for minutes sometimes. M'sian would know this. But good job to making this policy.
If it's a new car, not so much issue registering the VEP. Most of us who bought a used car will face this excruciating hassle for JPJ to deregister the previous owner, and their response is very very slow. I've been waiting 2 months plus, but still, they have not deregister my car, so I can't apply for this dumb VEP. If I enter JB now, I'll get a warning for their incompetency. Anthony Loke still not aware the fault is in their system.
i have a VEP in 2019, i applied in April before expiry, but i got stuck with the last step with wrong IC & hp number, till today i cannot renew at all, write and ask JPJ, E-wallet, TC sen but no one can help ! their replied is my IC & HP number must be the same!!!!!
Shrey's highlights on giving vehicle roadtax at minute 1:38. But this is also required by S'pore LTAT when Malaysians apply VEP to drive into S'pore. So, should not frown on this.
CNA kept on saying JPJ = Malaysia MOT, is pure lazy to check the facts. JPJ is just one of the transport regulatory agency under MOT Malaysia. JPJ Regulates road transport like LTA in Singapore. There are other agencies for waters (Maritime Department, Maritime Institute, 5 port authorities), and air (CAAM, Air Accident Investigation Bureau)

I am guffawed at the point where security is even mentioned as a benefit for installing VEP. If the car can be stolen despite locks and without the original smart keys. Can’t the flimsy VEP stickers be ripped off at the windscreen or headlights, wherever they are installed🤣🤣🤣🤣?
It is not about your privacy, it is to make sure you are not missed without traceable in any grey areas, that why all details are required to ease of process or incident.
Can you investigate how clean the trays and crockery at hawker centres and coffee shops are? The trays don't seem to ever be cleaned, whereas I've seen stallholders wash all dirty crockery in one bucket without changing the water
Entered Malaysia for the first time after getting my VEP over the weekend. Got the headlamp type, which only received it 1.5 months later. Pasted it, took a photo and uploaded it, guess because to take the photo covering the car plate number and the headlamp, the tag will be super small, got rejected the first time, retook again with just half the car plate number, and only got approved after that. Tried going thru the toll via RFID lane, for those that pasted the tag yourself, based on what I have encountered, you will need to find the sweet spot of the reader and the tag while entering the lane very very very slow, my first few time before finding the sweet spot, I had to move front and back to find it, and my sweet spot is few metres before entering the toll building. The sweet thing is that it is also auto deduct from TNG app, so can just top up anytime if the balance is low. (Also please keep your physical tng card for mall parking and also in case RFID cannot be detected, which happened to me once)
The way the minister reply is so unprofessional. Because Sg ask for that information, we also ask the same. So copy cat lah Malaysia. Everything also must copy. But yet they can’t copy our efficiency level. Got my VEP and got it activated. But not linked to my TNG account. Ask TNG, they can’t do anything. Ask VEP, no reply. TNG confirmed TNG is tag to IC already. Malaysia cmi!!

Steve, thank you for wasting your precious time to show everyone how efficient our neighbours are. Prof law, dont talk cork la. Settle your traffic police first before saying speeding is a problem. For decades they are so happy offering to take bribes in return for not issuing a ticket. Dont tell me you dont know. Now what, you want to ruin their rice bowl? Then what, car stolen you think the thieves stupid? First thing they do is to tear away the simple sticker. Accidents...how did we deal with accidents in the past? "You want to make sure we are safe??" Just admit everything you all also want to involve Malaysia side for a share of the pie. That's the grand master plan isn't it? Lol, shrey got trolled 😂😂😂

As a Malaysian, I am not surprised by the implementation issues. Even our former PM, used "Malu Apa" as his slogan to face the public.
@@ryanleong7869 nonsense. I apply since may but it has been hit with issues after issues. Now tell me my Ic name don't match with all my other documents. Because my Ic has the hanyu pinying brackets. So stupid right
Not really, i heard from my uncle the issue is the de-registration, for people who actually applied for vep years ago, after the vep is expired, there are many problems de-registering it and re-register again. I don't understand why they can't just extend their vep but need to de-register and re-register.

Fyi, I registered mine way back before COVID. Nothing has been approved since then. My de -registration status is still Pending Verification...another lengthy process...😅😅
Good job on snitching on yourself now they're going to check literally every car and add delay time for everyone
Nah. They won’t want to choke the trickle of cars entering JB even further because their businesses are hurting.
Thank you CNA for hearing all our pains……

Since like you are the yaya papaya here. Talk with no evidence. Bunch of kopitiam seat hogger.
Seems like the Malaysian government should put more effort in getting their own people to pay the fine first instead of coming after foreigners?
Additional hassle just to drive into Malaysia?! Doesn't make sense at all.
Very good to see a strong Minister of Transport of Malaysia who is serious in implementing rule and order regardless, well done.
Good that got strong minister, bad when the prep work is so bad. And sticking the vep on headlamp is retarded

It's a hassle but if they want it you have to comply. Don't drive in if possible.
Most issue from used cars , new car registers are actually easily done online.

No offence but we the people have no idea wats going on. Its our government thats doing this. Hope u guys understand. We want and need good relationships with Singapore

Many Malaysian drivers drive recklessly in SG, several of them died on SG roads with their irresponsible driving.

We don't need VEP, they should make Singapore for pedestrians only !!!!!
@@aldinlim Malaysians are terrible drivers by design, most likely bribed JPJ, I have witnessed it..but Malaysians are not claiming to come from an efficient, first-class economy blah blah, but as soon as Singaporeans cross over, it appears, who cares, you see, we do not have a chip on our shoulder, that is the difference..but can you proof RM4 billion in fines on your side, this is blatant disregard and taking the mickey
Come drive in the UK in the same way, and you will be banned and lose your job...
why ICA at land borders does not ensured foreign vehicles paid up the summons before they are allowed to cross the border into Malaysia.
shame to see all comments here. both country act like kids. this country said no national food bla bla, this country said currency stronger bla bla. when will this stop? you both got benefit, SG can go shopping at MY/ can go buy cheaper item while boosting MY sale, MY can go SG work/ when returning to MY, you got higher income than most average employee at MY. it's 2024 soon 2025, why won't u guys stop comparing and discriminating each other country?
This just goes to show that even the most well intentioned policies can result in consequences which lead to further consequences that can only be described as the consequence of consequences.
I have RFID tag (similar to VEP) on the headlamp for 5 years and it did not have any physical damage issue at all, so stop complaining, just remind your carwashers to avoid cleaning that area it will be good and watch out your speed when you cross the Toll.
When you know is BS when he says the law is equal for everyone. The amount of malaysian cars speeding and the speed they going, so will their new system catching them as well? 🙃
As trump says we have enough criminals in our own country (USA) we don’t want to import more criminals abroad (Mexico)
I guess its a known and open issues yet to be resolved - fines that doesnt matter to foreign vehicles
why not..singaporean whom enter malaysia rent malaysia car..settle
It takes me two hours to apply and be granted my ESTA visa to enter into the United States of America, and I still complain it takes too long - real first world problem.
I've gotten the RFID installed and SOOOOOOO many times the tag couldn't be detected and I had to hazard light and reverse out!!
Amazing
our ICA and TP system not being able to work in tandem to ensure vehicles with outstanding fines should be stopped at ICA checkpoints and made to settle fines before entering Singapore again.
