Assalam O Alaikum Hassan, being the writer of Pyari Mona I am really happy and glad that you enjoyed it, hope you continue to enjoy the future episodes also, the effort of entire team is earnest and sincere
Salam to Amna as well and again glad that you liked it and it resonated with you, you two are two of my fav people in media and you can't imagine how happy I am to see you enjoying it
To the criticism that Mona is constantly eating and this is the reason for her fat body is mere assumption, I am thin and eat less but very frequently and this is what has been incorporated in this character ie love for food and yes I get shamed all the time, people tell me jo khatay ho jata kahan hai, lagta kyun nahi etc
And this was an old script of mine which has been reshaped and remodelled for today's Times so all assumptions on it being copy of X or Y are not true either
And Hassan before I close name of Mona's father is Khalid not Khurram

Kuch Unkahi: Loving it! For the first time looking forward to a character played by Babar Ali. The episode had so many positives
    1. Father’s relationships with his daughters
    2. Phupoo having a very loving relationship with brother’s family, yet not giving up her right of inheritance. Normally ties are severed off due to property disputes.
    3. Females doing land development, and real estate work , normally considered a man’s domain.
    4. A hindu maid cooking food for a Muslim family, girls making tea for her. Very commendable thoughtful point.

I agree with Amna to some extent. But we can't compare her styling with anyone in the Multasims family. She was raised in a totally different environment and she doesn't like anything when it comes to his family from the very first episode.
It would be nice to see Meerab changing gradually merging with multasims family styling slowly with the episodes. If they would have given too many similarities in styling, I would have picked that negatively.
This is something that should emerge with the storyline instead from the very beginning. If that's the thought behind it, I will give it 10/10

First few minutes of kuch an kahi, my eyes were full of tears such a beautiful performance between onscreen father and daughter. And it was so refreshing to see babar ali in that role. Every single actor with their nuanced and natural acting, has made this drama phenomenal. And of course the entry of the ever gorgeous vaneeza Ahmed.

Tere Bin: Murtasim might not be completely perfect but he atleast has some common sense. He repeatedly told Meerab that he will convince his family against the marriage. Even if Meerab said yes, he wanted to know the real reason behind it and then said yes. He made sure and even questioned Maa Begum over the fact that Meerab's parents should be here and cut to him actually going to get them.
Meerab is more on a revenge mode then love or shelter marriage. It'll be interesting to see how she'll avenge her tears from Shahnawaz family and how she actually deals with Murtasim. Tere Bin is a really enjoyable drama minus the Haya doing behayi.

Both girls in MPHT and TB, are doing injustice to Saad and Murtesim. It made most sense when Murtesim told Meerab to wait, and let him set things right, after all she would be living in her father’s house. She didn’t need to be married to live there. But Meerab was in a hurry, she even said all her hate for him was gone. So why now wanting to take revenge for marriage? Revenge for slap, i can understand but for marriage he didn’t want, makes no sense.

Tere bin is aesthetically so appealing. I love Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movies because they are poetry in motion. This particular drama gives me the same vibes. The lead pair is spectacular. Love the way they deliver dialogues & act with eyes. This drama prompted me to watch their interviews. They both are sensitive, eloquent people & those qualities reflect in this drama. That is the reason for their strong screen presence.

Tere bin : They ruined a little bit of Murtasim's character for me after the slap. But in this episode we get l know why Murtasim is so arrogant towards everyone. When he said "Yeh khandaan mujhse hai , mein khandaan se nahi" we get deeper understanding of what he meant . He didn't just sacrifice himself but also his beloved one . And eventually wasn't allowed to marry her. That's why he is the way he is . Meerub Is much alike as Murtasim then both of them believe it to be. Meerub 's one prideful thing and her support system that was her parents have been taken away from her. Murtasim sees himself in meerub alot . And that's why they clash . Both of them are alter egos of eachother. Meerub is soft , strong , morally correct is the Murtasim's Alterego. Meerub's Alterego is being ruthless , arrogant and downright rude. That's why when he sees her begging her parents to open door he sees himself . And maybe helplessness he felt. That's why he prays for meerub to give her whatever she wants. he sees the Murtasim he has been trying to hide from the world. Meerub on contrary is becoming what she isn't . The scene where is crying and suddenly wipes of her tears and says" ab mein roungi nahi rulaungi" .Meerub obviously isn't type to sit quietly with all mistreatment she received so she is playing the long game . She is becoming a Meerub that maybe herself doesn't know. She was such a protected kid . But we see her becoming a cold hearted person.
And again when Murtasim asks why did she agree marry him ?. She displays his Alterego by agreeing to the marriage and not caring about her own feelings. They don't clash because they are two different people . They clash because they see so much of themselves in eachother. Murtasim sees his younger self and Meerub sees her older yet become self.

Tere Bin: Murtasim is quite believable if you ask me. He is not a hero. Finally a proper grey character. The fact everyone condemned the slap even Tere Bin enjoyers like me shows that majority of the people got the message. I am so happy that both the leads are fucked up in their own way it makes so much sense. Its so hard to find leads who are flawed. The goody two shoes and miskeen protagonist have been so redundant in drama it becomes super dull and predictable. Haya's dance was hilarious. I had to pause the drama and take a minute.
Kuch Ankahi: Amazing episode! While Sajal and Bilal are the face of the drama I personally feel drama is more of slice of life genre. But I cant wait for their development. Bilal was so funny in that one scene (everyone knows which scene). Loving it!

Tere Bin - One of the reasons I am loving this drama is because of Murtasim. I actually think he’s been written so well! For years we have all been criticising drama writers for writing black & white characters & not more realistic & grey ones. Murtasim is a grey character and someone who is quite relatable - he has traits which are part of human nature. He isn’t too positive and an angel where he doesn’t do anything wrong or he isn’t too negative where he can’t do anything right - he’s in the middle with both positive & negative traits. And that’s what humans are right? No one is perfect & I’m glad we get to see someone who is like this on screen. I think that the slap last week was an inconsistency in the writing as it was quite out of character. I suppose we discover he’s never hit a girl before & then regrets it, followed by an apology (hardly get to see that on screen, the violence just usually carries on that too for absolute no reason) - it kind of makes you understand, a little, the reasoning behind it (but I do wish it just wasn’t put in as it was unnecessary). The writer for me has redefined what a “hero” is & can be. Not someone who is perfect & an angel but has a mix of good & bad traits. Murtasim is someone who finds himself similar to Meerab - he ofc loved someone and wasn’t allowed to marry her & is now being forced to marry someone else. I love the fact characters in Tere Bin have a backstory & depth - again good writing. He is keeping Meerab’s happiness & consent in mind which is a great quality - because apart from Murtasim, no one cares about what she wants. He finds a lot of himself in Meerab and that explains why they both clash a lot! Wahaj Ali has played Murtasim perfectly - the expressions, dialogue delivery, body language & wardrobe is honesty impeccable. I’m really enjoying his peformance & I don’t think anyone could of done a better job then he has in this role. He truly is stealing the show & I’m so happy to see him smashing a lead role - My favourite actor for a reason 💙 !! I’m also loving the drama due to the fact Meerab is ready to get back to her fiesty & hot-headed nature! I loved that dynamic at the start & now she’s slowly getting over her heartbreak & is ready to actually marry Murtasim but with a twsit with what looks like revenge! My prediction is that the condition she will put, is that they won’t be allowed to consummate the marriage - which will definitely be interesting. For me, Tere Bin so far has been a compelling & engaging story which has broken many stereotypes that make the drama different & enjoyable to watch. Having said that, Haya’s character is someone which I’m really not enjoying & actually kind of spoils the show a bit for me. She had way too much screen time in these two episodes - i really don’t like characters which beg & pine after a man who isn’t interested in them. That dance scene which was a dream sequence was so cringe-worthy, unnecessary & a waste of screen time! I’m just glad Meerab can shut her up & doesn’t tolerate her nonsensical comments - I hope that carries on. A lot to look forward to in the drama - I know Malik saab & his son will be back soon in the scene which will bring some thriller element into the drama (can be seen in OST & teasers) so really excited for that to unfold!

I agree so so much with you. Murtasim is not an angel and that's the most intriguing, part of the plot. He stands high on his morals and it looks like Meerab is using him for her revenge.
It's good to see a flawed hero and heroin on screen. Tere Bin is a great ride so far, I hope it exceeds the expectations more.

I agree with this. The slap was a lapse in judgment. I don’t agree with amna and Hassan that he wasn’t capable of this. Was Murtasim capable of a violent action? I actually think yes. He’s not non violent in his real life. He very easily beats people up (granted for what he believes is right), owns guns and stuff. And most importantly, he did kind of gaslight her in the beginning when she kept telling him “say no I don’t want to marry you,” and he was saying why do I say it, you say instead of saying I will say no too bc neither of us want to get married. When he comes to get her for the bday, he acted like a brat and goon for no reason he could’ve just said look your dad sent me they need you there for some reason, but his approach was “you’re going with me or I’ll put you in the car myself.” So he wasn’t perfect. They had a very complex relationship based on mutual dislike and had several borderline toxic exchanges in the beginning which led up to this violent exchange that precipitated in a slap. Not defending it, just saying he was capable of this. He feels differently now bc he is connecting with her on her pain and loss and he is seeing a vulnerable side to her that he’s connecting with and she’s very pretty so I am sure he’s attracted to her too. I don’t know if it’s as big of a writing flaw as you’re saying. Agree the slap shouldn’t have been there bc he’s clearly falling in love with her now and it will take her a while to get over the circumstance and if the slap wasn’t there, she would’ve felt differently towards him sooner. I also agree he’s grey he isn’t perfect but he’s redeemable in this dream like world (real life, no) and he will have to earn meerubs trust and love bc of his lapse in judgment

Murtasim is such a likeable character and wahaj doing exceptionally well, BUT just wish that slap wasn't there because it did nothing to the story and it was totally out of character but having said that tere bin is definitely a fun watch. I agree with both Aamna and Hassan, Tere bin is such an entertaining drama, the moment I see the last scene of Tere bin on Thursdays, I feel that I have nothing else to do in my life until next Wednesday LOL 😆. I hated the 'Thappad' but I can't stop myself from loving Murtasim, I mean he is not a 'goody two shoe' character, who is like the ideal son or brother, who does nothing wrong, he is someone who has a grey personality, like most of us humans, he has anger issues but then he is caring and the fact that he didn't decide if he was ready to marry until he confirmed with Meerab, that she didn't still hate him and gave so much importance to her consent, I felt that was beautiful. We usually see that guys are the ones who like girls, want to get married to these girls and then the girl is asked or told that she is to be married to this guy, so I really liked the fact the Meerabs consent was so important to him.
For the thappad, I feel the need from producers to have that Mirchi masala in the drama, they could have added that and easily shown it as Haya's dream, since she was standing right behind, that way this whole scenario wouldn't be so awkward and we could love Murtasim guilt free. In reality it could have been Meerab shouting and screaming and finally fainting in Murtasim's arms because of the smoke she inhaled or dehydration or whatever, him being the hero and her, the damsel in distress.
My biggest complaint however is with other actors who are talking, subtly, about this thappad in their interviews, pointing it as toxic, oh Bhai, aapne kaunse sare doodh k dhule scenes kiye hai? Hadd hai waise.
Wahaj- oh my god, he has done justice to Murtasim, and how. I can't keep my eyes off him, his walk, the dialogue delivery, his shawl, HIS EYES. WOW ❤️🤌.
We see characters that are toxic, who kidnap, force the girls to get married to them and forcefully consummate their marriage (Muqqadar) but then the characters have a change of heart after 15 episodes and we get all mushy for them and start liking them. Unlike those characters, Murtasim cares, he is a grey character but a true Hero for me, minus the thappad.

Infact they even used a sample music from aishwarya's scene in mohabbatein. Pak dramas do so well with their OG music. Please dont go on the beaten to death indian serial track-

It can be anything, may be he wanted to go abroad and study , may be he was not interested in zameen dari but forced to take care of it , may be he wanted to learn some skills that he was passionate about . Because in contrast, the male lead, Wahaj Ali, looks very dapper and aristocratic. Wahaj is stealing the show in all respects. If I am being honest right now, it's Wahaj's world or era, and we are only living in it. His acting and dramas are totes worth the hype. He is undeniably sublime. Tbh I really liked your interview today, it was quite fun to see you both happy and fairly satisfied. I loved that you named the shawl 'Paro'. Paro was an additional paid actor in the drama. "The slap" is inconsistent with how Murtasim's character has been defined otherwise. Yes, hes a hot head, but everything else that has been shown about him, does not gel in with the slap. Also, I get the sense that he low-key likes Meerub, but his ego and their clashes come in the way. Otherwise he wouldn't take her to a different city in the middle of the night, just cuz she asked. Something his mom points out too. He also prayed for her as he saw her in distress. He was concerned in the hospital for her too, so to me at least, I feel he does like her, and once he is convinced she doesnt "hate" him, he immediately agrees to the marriage.

Tere bin: want to address 2 things that you misunderstood, 1st that whole dance was haya's dream sequence, it didn't happen in reality and it will make sense in the next episode when meerub will dance on her walima infront of everyone and maa begum will slap her and and say something like "hamaray yahan dances hotay". 2nd, they did show meerub getting ready for her shaadi in the last episode. In fact it was quite a detailed getting ready, either you missed that episode or completely forgot. Other than that kudos to you too, i mean exceptional review on tere bin.

What I like about Tere Bin is a bit of unpredictability, the promos didn't give away what happened in the next episode up till now. Next episode I guess is a bit predictable. Meerab involving Murtasim in her revenge probably needed the thapar cuz otherwise Meerab would look really bad. But shouldn't have happened I strongly agree. They could have deployed some other trope. Also, the thapar was inconsistent with his character too so that's a loop hole in the story. And Wahaj oh yes! I don't think any other actor has looked this good in a Pakistani drama before!

The one thing that frustrates me is when people say I am overweight but I don’t have health issues. Being overweight is a symptom of something that is going very wrong in the body. Something is cooking inside and is making you age sooner than later. They should stop showing this in dramas and people should stop saying as long as you don’t have health issues it fine to be overweight. It’s never fine to be overweight. Yes don’t make fun of overweight people and don’t underestimate or trivialize their challenges but don’t say it’s okay. I am overweight too but I still don’t find this okay. We should all be on the journey towards a normal BMI.

    Besides Everyhing..
I think that Tere Bin is a drama of two super talented actors..Both yumna and wahaj..
I agree that wahaj being Murtasim is looking extremely good and he acted super great in every scene..He has that screen presence which is impressive and his character is surely larger than life...Absolutely..
But we forgot that Yumna being meerub has also v.strong presence (despite her styling..agreeing to amna), She shouldn't be ignored(i think)..She is not someone who we people don't know much ..may be amna is right that here looks matter v. muxh, so much that her acting, her dialogues , her shift of expressions everything besides her looks is brutally ignored..I mean jahan hum wahaj ke handsomeness, screen presence ke sath sath us ki acting ko itna discuss kr re hain..we must also give credit to Yumna of that extent..
Suppose k koi actress hotin jo bohat pyari, haseen and out of this world lgtin but if she lacks or left behind in her acting her dialogue game..tu kya phir b hero heroin ki chemistry itni strong hoti..i think nahi.

Had posted this under Kuch ankahi's vid but will post again here because I realllllly want kuch ankahi to do the numbers it deserves. If even 1 person decides that content is worth watching, my job is done. As Hassan in his intrview with Maya and Bilaal, talked abt the regressive quality of Pakistani dramas. I feel we r ourselves responsible for gvng watch time to regressive stuff and progressive stuff going under the radar leading to more regressive stuff. I do feel a bit guilty awaiting tere bin with excitement and anticipation every week but not having the same enthu for kuch ankahi tho tere bin has a man slappinh a woman and dragging her by the hand in a party while progressive stuff like kuch ankahi (also yunhi bhi badhiya lag raha, woh bhi dekhna h) dont get as much buzz. #PleadGuilty
Kuch ankahi ka ek dikkat h uski writing suno chanda level ki humorous nhi h, ya h bhi toh dialogue delivery usko justify nahi kar pa raha bt nonetheless mereko bahut maza aata dekhne mein
It feels a bit sad to not see this drama do the massive numbers it deserves because honestly it ranks number 1 in refreshing content. Bhai itne saare refreshing points h, kya kya ginun. Bas ye h ki iska pura suno chanda level ka humour ya acting nhi hua h, jagah jagah acting slips a bit aur punchlines utneee powerful nhi h lekin i really love the drama because it's so progressive and helps in highlighting to the world that Pakistan is just like the rest of the world. Aisa nhi h ki yahan sirf regressive stuff hi hota h. Jaise in any society, u hv regressive and progressive, yahan same h bas the %of regressive is more nd louder so u feel those r the only voices there. Itne saare dramon mein itna regressive content tha ki jab hum chote the and didn't know better, mereko lga aisa hi society h. Bt dramas like this and suno chanda help u change ur biases. Lemme just try to enlist the refreshing stuff here:
    1. For the 1st time, in my 7-8 yrs ka drama watching career hv i seen a pak drama show a hindu representation which feels great. Ki aisa nhi h that Pakistan treats all its hindus like shit. Just like India, some ppl mistreat the minorities but a majority of ppl dont. Nd just like those who mistreat minorities in india cannot and do not represent India's ethos so is the case for pak. Discrimination ne toh hota h unfortunately dono jagah but not everyone is like that.
    2. Male-female friendships. Uffffffffff thank gooooddd fr showing this. Male-female Platonic friendships ki bahot killat h pak dramas mein h. Esp hving him come home is so so refreshing.
    3. Inheritance law and how skewed it is towards men.
    4. Love marriages
    5. Love despite age (hoping sophia's track is that)
    6. Sairish jaisi confident wmn not being villified, same with sophia.
    7. Showing sajal as a real estate agent, traditionally a male-dominated space.
    8. Highlighting how men get insecure seeing wmn excel and Salman's charc accepting that and trying to make up for that.
    9. The problem of child labour arising out of poverty and domestic violence
    10. The hatke choice of being a filmmaker and how through the charc of qudsia's bestie, u can see that desi fams aren't supportive of that
    11. Sm1 pointed out and I had the same observation wich i forgot to add, showing men doing kitchen chores normalizes men doing domestic chores and will hopefully help in removing some of the entitlement patriarchy feels.
Ek jagah jo i didn't like was them moral policing neha for making videos. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

So well said. Kuch ankahi is such a breath of fresh air and deserves so much more. And I honestly do not understand the hype of shows like tere bin, I couldn't stand even one episode of the ott toxic and cringy storylines and writing.
I will disagree with one thing tho. I personally feel that the comedy and dialogue delivery of kuch ankahi is actually better than dramas like suno chanda. It's more real and relatable humour. Suno chanda ka humour was sometimes too much in your face and too over the top and could come off as cringy..and the main leads ka banter was soo badtameez lol. Whereas kuch ankahi ka humour is refreshing and not in your face. And the lead couple do have a banter but it's not toxic and badtameez lol.

@@arundhatibhardwaj8888 I personally loved suno chanda bcoz of the badtameez banter. That was my primary USP to see characs, esp girls like me represented on screen, girls who are rude, ambitious about their career, aren't angels from heaven but have real flaws and yes bado se badtameezi karne wale bcoz that's real, ik i've been rude to elders. In fact, suno chanda felt like a breath of fresh air bcoz usse pehle i thought pakistan has only aitraam karne wali girls (wich is good but not relatable at least to the majority of Gen Z growing up, we are assholes sometimes nd i m sure ppl around the world havw the same sample size of personalities), jiya was someone who sunaofied and fought/was rude with arsal, fought for her education, and wasn't this innocent, naive, bechari, bado ka kaha manne wali, fam pe qurbaan karne wali sacrificial wmn. + tom and jerry chemistry. The dramas that i had watched before suno chanda with the exception if the v long ago aired Kashaf from zindagi gulzar h, made me feel that way. Then came jiya and saba qamar in cheekh and my dumb brain realized ppl all over the world are kinda same hence we hv relatable memes and situations.
As to humour, i will agree it has a subtle kind of humour. But just that i dnt find myself chuckle here as i did im suno chanda. Also the Dialogue delivery of some of the funny dialogyes fr eg the neighbour or even isra ghazal's tanas dont hv the same comedic ring to it. It slips a bit.

Jiya was an amazing character , an ambitious girl who speaks her mind and is not scared of anything. And who doesn't love kashaf lol. Absolutely adored her. I did not have a problem with the characters and the chemistry. It was the humour which I found hard to digest sometimes. But to each their own !!!

LOL if Suno Chanda is the new benchmark of humour, Kuch Ankahi is better off not having any! With all due respect, KA's humour is very subtle and not-in-your face type, maybe that's why the punchlines aren't effective to some people.

Aamna is spot on about Yumna ‘s look . An extremely talented actor . Has nice complexion and looks good eg , Bakhtawar . It’s not just her styling it’s her awful makeup in the Mayun scenes and even more horrendous white washed face and sloppy makeup as a bride . Yumna needs to take interest personally on her look .
Hassan you are 💯about Wahaj as Saad . Just pure love he has conveyed with his soulful eyes . The ost in the background surely adds to the magic. I think this serial will be the dark horse in this new season .
I enjoy Tere Bin , it’s not a very different mindset drama we see often of these waderas or landlord families . Exception being the actress being a feminist, strong minded woman who has similar traits to hero who has a strong mind , arrogance of his landed background . His character is grey . As the episodes progress meerab, will go out to give a tough time to muhtasim and the family . We expect the same tit for tat from muhtasim . .Acting wise Saad wins hands down . Muhtasim is a grey character an angry young man with shades of softness .
So , it does not matter Hassan . It’s Wahaj Ali blasting the trp’s this season ❤

Kuchh Ankahi: This drama is entertaining yet progressive. There are so many things that are breaking stereotypes. Bilal being scared of dog while sajal isn't so yes Men can have phobias too. 2ndly Bilal washing dishes, and showing his mommy his tv show. Father supporting girl to say No to marriage rather than telling her "his majbooriyan" and when shd denies then he says I will speak on your behalf. Phopho being supportive of girls. That was so good.
Sajal's character is dominating Salman and hats off to Bilal for taking up a role where he has less scenes, is not conventional man, being dominated by lead actress. So sometimes our A-listers should think of a project as a whole rather than focusing on their individual roles.

Tere Bin: I am glad Amna brought this point of Yumna's styling and looks. I have been noticing this since episode 1 that she doesnt have a good MUA. Her makeup and hairstyle is just not suiting her and kills her natural beauty. After seeing Yumna since so many years, I have realised that Yuma looks good with natural makeup which accentuates her inner beauty. She doesnt look good with ovr the top makeup, like what she has done on her wedding day. Her wedding look with super fake jewellery and loaded eyeshadow looks vry tacky. Makers shld have seen her in Ishq e Laa wherein at the later stage of the drama her makeup was superb and her styling was amazing.

They both are egoistic, arrogant. Murtasim realized his mistake but his ego doesn’t let him seek a proper apology. Isn’t it a common human trait? And Meerub not some one who forget this slap so easily. People should stop exaggerating this.

Really enjoyed the episode, there was a great flow to the conversation. Pyaari Mona really stood out, in terms of her mother's criticism being the initial turning point in Mona's life which made her move to Lahore and live on her own terms. I used to be a little overweight while growing up and most of the time the family brings in more personal criticism on how you look rather than the public at large. It was very relatable and the storyline seems promising, however, I do agree with Amna that Mona and her friend's continuous eating throughout the episode became a little annoying as it suggested that her eating habits are the main reason for her excessive weight, although I believe there are many things that account for weight gain, for instance, PCOS in girls. I really look forward to Tere Bin, love the characters and how the story is depicted on such a large scale in terms of videography. It felt odd when Haya was asked to dance, I was a little taken aback because they have shown a conservative household like even in a girl's dholki Murtasim's sister had her head covered, so felt weird. I hope it was just her imagination.
