I always thought it was up to downshift, down to upshift like on my minibike, but guessing since its a much bigger bike, it woild have different gear shift patterns Pushing it down from first puts it into neutral? Does it work the same way for shifting down from 4th to 3rd, etc Or is it like a 2 stage thing where it clicks twice, once to downshift 1 gear, twice for neutral kind of thing? Or do i have this completely wrong xD This is honestly fascinating to me :)
The pattern you‘re talking about is used on racebikes (push to upshift), cause when you are in a big lean angle its impossible to get your foot under the lever to upshift, so thats why you push down. On a road bike the neutral is between 1st and 2nd gear, so its down for the first gear and the rest up. But dont get it wrong, when you go from first to second on a roadbike, you can "pass" the neutral. You‘d only get in neutral if you pull the lever half way :D
I had a pocket bike that went back to first gear if you passed final gear lol so dangerous when you accidently shifted back into first thinking you have another gear 😅

In a race you'll probably never go under 100 kmh, so a long 1st gear makes sense because you'll actually be using all the gears even in a faster race, and it'll be at lower rpm at lower speeds so it'll get more gas milage and you won't have to shift as often as a 5 speed scooter that goes 130 kmh I'm sure it gets at least 30 mpg like most motorcycles
You prolly didn't have knowledge about bike top speed, 299kmh is an speedometer limit that appears on most 1000cc bike except for Italian bike, the real top speed is way higher, take an example, CBR 1000 RR-R, speedometer limit is 299kmh, but actually the real top speed is 345kmh, plus if it's already 299kmh in 5th gear, it's mean the real top speed is higher than that, it's impossible to stay 299kmh if it's already are on 5th gear
@@Rebelram2022 Yup, unfortunately though I can’t find a strip that’s long enough to reach those speeds without having to slow down for corners. I don’t plan to push my bike further though because I will chew through my tires otherwise. I won’t be able to sell it though because I have i feeling it’s too aggressively tuned for anyone to know how to ride it. I had an orange R1 that had some oil leaks but I patched up the oil leaks. It was tuned like my current R1 but not as fast. I sold it to someone for 5k and apparently it was too powerful because they crashed it about 10 min after picking it up. They didn’t seem very smart though because they called me first instead of insurance. I just told him that it’s not mine anymore so thats his problem. Thats when I bought my current black R1 with all of my tunings. Pretty messy backstory.
